Incompetence and Snowflakes…read more What happened to this place??? I saw a doctor here a few years ago and had a completely pleasant and professional experience. I fractured my scapula a couple of weeks ago, x-rays in the ER and a referral to CCO. I called CCO the next day to schedule an appointment, got voicemail, so I left the details and asked for a call back. Called again each of the next two days, left messages, and waited for a callback. Nothing. By Thursday, I called my primary, asked for a PT referral (which they sent the same day) and went to PT the next day to deal with all the pain and muscle stiffness. PT noticed that the ER referred me to the spine guy at CCO, not the shoulder guy. So on the way home, I stopped by CCO with my ER referral paperwork from Monday , and asked to set an appointment with their shoulder specialist. The nice lady behind the desk, said she understood why I'd want to see the shoulder guy but had to get the spine guy to agree that the shoulder guy was the right specialist to see me, and assured me they'd be back in touch shortly. For a minute, I thought she was saying I could wait there in the lobby while she got that approval. It wasn't until Thursday the next week that I got the call to set an appointment... with the Physician's Assistant... in a week. I told the lady on the phone that I didn't see the point in seeing a PA after 3 weeks with the injury, and that I wanted to see the shoulder physician. Confused, she asked whether I wanted the appointment or not. I clarified that I didn't see the point in seeing a PA 3 weeks after my injury, and that while they'd been "dickin' around with their internal process trying to get me in", I'd already seen my primary, had 2 PT sessions, and one with my Rolfer / Massage therapist. As I was finishing that sentence, she said my language was unacceptable and hung up. To CCO, I'm sorry for saying "dickin' around". For the snowflake on the phone and for the management over there, please expect that injured patients trying to get acute care might be frustrated when it takes you two weeks to do something that should take 10 minutes. Your website says "Dedicated to High - Quality Care". Pretty please, run your business like you mean that...

This review is specifically for Dr. Dusch who specializes in hands, wrists and elbows. This is not…read morean endorsement for the entire practice. I had been to one doctor and one PA at Central Coast Orthopedics, had an x-ray, an MRI, been to 2 PT sessions and my tennis elbow wasn't any better. I was told that I needed to see a specialist that treated elbows and the closest was in Santa Barbara. I googled and found that Dr. Dusch specializes in hands, wrists and elbows right here in SLO. I was able to get in right away, she took care of the immediate pain that was waking me up at night and sent me to a PT specializing in hands and elbows. The PT treatment was very different from the first place I was referred to. I am confident that I am on the track to healing and can't thank Dr. Dusch enough.

When I did get a call returned it was were not scheduling until next year. I asked his office if I could be referred to another Dr I never heard back. Again poor communication. In Sept I gave up and was seen by Dr Sima in templeton. He agreed I needed a full knee and his staff began the process.The process was well coordinated, great communication and had my knee done in Nov and the surgery came out great. After persisting for several hours the day of my appointment, to get no answers to questions about the appointment, I was finally told 1 hour after my appointment time, that the doctor who was still on another appointment, would talk with me (by zoom), in 1/2 hour. Because I had an evening engagement, I was not able to wait, and told the staff so, but was not offered an apology, or another appointment time. After my experience with the office staff of Dr. Ferro, I would never consider scheduling surgery with him. Offices definitely are a reflection of their owners.

We were there by 10…read moreAM on a Sunday and there was no one in the waiting room in the ER; we were seen immediately; registration was smooth and quick and they saw him before he could sit down. Dr. Peter Dornhofer was efficient, thorough and very friendly and reassuring. The check-in nurse, Eric, was efficient friendly and also stepped up to action immediately. And finally the discharge nurse, Mary, was friendly and very sweet as we checked out and were in and out in 50 minutes flat. We have pain meds and a confirmed diagnosis and we are on our way to a happy healthier life.

It took them 2 years to finally settle a bill for an ER visit in 2022. I would get random calls from somebody in India saying we owed thousands of dollars but when I logged into Dignity portal, it showed a zero balance. And even after 2 years, the final bill was wrong. Now it's a bill for our intellectually disabled son's ER visit. Even though we've had the proper legal papers on file with Dignity for years that allow us to handle his affairs, the lady in India can't 'see' the paperwork & wants me to mail it to her (for a balance he doesn't even owe since he'd reached his OPM for the year). There is never any detail on the bill. Just really frustrating. I don't know who Dignity contracted with to handle their billing but they need to find a new company.

As a healthcare provider myself, I would be humiliated that my patients first impression of my practice are the people we have had poor interactions with. That being said, I can imagine it is hard to hire good help these days.

Dr. Fow was the ortho surgeon on-call and I am grateful even though I had to wait a while to be seen. He is a very busy doctor, but he took the time to explain my options and answer questions about the injury and recovery process. He took the more conservative option between 2 possible surgeries to fix it and so far, so good... the bone is healing well and physical therapy is helping with my range of motion. I've been seeing Hannah the PA in his office, and she is very personable and knowledgeable. The front office staff isn't always super friendly but every time I call, it seems like Jasmine answers the phone and she is helpful and professional. Mary Ann is my angel - she completed my disability paperwork quickly and has graciously helped me fix a couple of other SDI issues in a timely manner. Thanks to Dr. Fow and his fantastic team!

Tried to fight it but it'll take too much effort on my end to continue. We had 2 interactions. The first was an in person visit. The 2nd was a 1 min phone call to get the xray results which were completely normal. The doctor charges my insurance for a 20-30 min virtual appt--yes it was virtual appt but no it did not last 20-30 min. Yes the doctor had to interpret the xray but i doubt that it took 20-30 min to do so. My insurance said he could've have billed for a 15 min appt. I requested for a reconsideration, the doctor denied it. The bill for that 1 min phone call was $200. Why can't this office be more client focused and figure out a less expensive way to distribute normal xray results????
