Pleasantly surprised to find a huge selection of everything! Especially REAL "ethnic" foods, ingredients, fruits and veggies. Why surprised? Coming from NYC ive been sorely disappointed in markets outside of big cities..they think LaChoy & Ortega tacos are real. But This Weis had SO MUCH good STUFF @ really good prices....we do our vacation every yr in the Poconos PA and will do all our shopping here!! BTW the fact y'all had coffees from D.R. and P.R. blew our minds! Oh and the staff was so nice and helpful...and one cashier ..a girl with long braids was adorable!!! read more

iI have been shopping at the Weis on 940 in Mt Pocono since 2018. Last year I had the pleasure of meeting cashier Gina. It is a true pleasure to see, and also be checked out by Gina. She is always thoughtful , kind, helpful and always advises if I do not use my points by a certain date if a applicable, I could receive a five dollar coupon to be used within two weeks and or items I could receive a discount on. My father was a supermarker manager in the 60s for Safeway and then Finest. in the 70s, he was a district manager for Finest. Gina exemplifies "Each" day, what an organization desires their team members to be. I grew up in the supermarket world working with my dad in my teenage years. I certainly know what life is working in the supermarket environment. I shop twice a week at Weis, and seeing her and having her check me out Is one of the highlights of my week. Weis is fucking terrible, and it really doesn't have to be so. The food quality is fine, and they have most of the brands you'd want in a normal grocery store. But they have this ABSURD discount/coupon system that is so convoluted it ends up taking forever just to check out. This happens literally every single time I go, too. Example: so ice cream is half off, great. But in order to "qualify", you have to scan a QR code at the item. Scanning the code then prompts you to pick your store (it's always several states away by default for some reason). Then you have to electronically "clip" this "coupon" of sorts, and pair it to your account. So now you need to create an account, great. There is a "checkout as guest" feature that doesn't work at all; in fact, even pairing it to your account doesn't really work. All of this for $2! I thought store cards were fucking stupid, but Weis has taken it to another level! To make it that much worse, the worker at the self-checkout tonight was pissed off that I couldn't make their convoluted system work, and was visibly annoyed that I had asked her to input it manually. What a lovely experience! It's such a hassle to come here, I generally just avoid it altogether. I genuinely love the Aldi down the street, but they don't have everything you need. When I'm the Mount Pocono area, Weis has stepped up their game in the grocery store department. Last year the store was renovated and as a result it is much more organized than before. They have expanded their offerings and selections. During my most recent visit their limited plant selection was in better shape than the Lowes across the street (Lowe's obviously has a better selection but the day we went most of the plants were picked over). I am knocking one star due to the prices being a bit higher than the nearby Walmart and Aldi, however I am fine with paying an up charge to have more selection. Also it's never as crowded or packed like Aldi and Walmart. This morning, I enjoyed a delightful shopping experience at the Mount Pocono Weis store. It was ten minutes prior to the store's opening when I arrived. Though the weather was fine, immediately, a friendly young man opened the door, invited me inside and said that if anyone asked to explain that he had let me inside. The facility is immaculate and inviting. The shelves were fully stocked. Produce was fabulously fresh and ample. I was pleased with the service that I was provided at the Appetizing counter. Throughout the store, non-shelf-stable foods appeared to be fresh and appealing. The entire staff was friendly, cheerful and eager to serve. When Weis Store Manager Stan warmly asked whether I was locating everything on my list, I introduced myself. It was refreshing that he engaged me, other customers and his staff. We met three more times as I shopped and, each time, he greeted me pleasantly and was fully attentive. Pricing is higher than at the other supermarket in the area however, at Weis, there was no tension or stress, no unhappy mistreated employees, no staff shortage and no constantly changing seemingly senseless policies about which there is confusion among the employees. It is wonderful that they have a wine and beer section now, but oh how cumbersome. First you can't check out with your adult beverages at the front registers, you must use the rear registers. Second, you can't use the right register if you have food or non alcoholic beverages in your shopping cart. That register in ONLY for beer and wine. Third, you cannot purchase more than 12 bottles of beer at a time. If you have a 12 pack and a bottle of wine, you must purchase one, then leave the store and reenter to purchase the other. Does this make sense? Fix this Weis. read more

This Weis has improved over the years. Although the produce selection is still fairly bleak, the meat counter is OK, and the rest of the store has just about anything you need (just limited on specialty items). Easy parking allows you to get in and out fairly quickly. read more

Worse produce department! Everything is old and half the produce is rotten! Don't get me started on the meat department, I wouldn't serve it to my dogs! Workers are very nice and helpful, they constantly push for weis brand which I would never buy, there high end products are horrible at least what they advertise read more

Upon entering the store, I approached the produce section. The varieties offered were sub-par and almost spoiled. Had I known that the selection was that bad, I would have gone elsewhere. Alas, I continued my shopping trip, hoping to make it better, somehow. I needed to stop at the deli, so I made my way there next. While there were only myself and 2 other people waiting in line, it seemed to take an eternity to get waited on. Now, the employee was a sweetheart and I thought to myself, "hey, maybe this will be OK." Boy was I wrong! I finished my shopping and got up to the checkout where I had to wait for a little while. That's no big deal. I'm having a good time so far, waiting is just part of shopping. The cashier noticed that there were no separators for orders, and saw that I was waiting until there was a far enough gap between orders to start putting my things up. At that moment, I should have left. In an annoyed huff, the cashier pushes the separator down to where I could reach it. OK. Still not that big of a deal. She starts ringing up my order, and I take the bags now and start putting them in my cart. At this time, I notice that the screen is ringing up negative numbers. I thought this a bit funny and said, "why are they coming up negatives?" BAAAADDDD mistake on my part! Now, mind you, this woman named Missy, looks to be a hell of a lot older than a teenager, but that didn't stop her from acting like one. The response from her as she rolled her eyes (yes! She rolled her eyes!) was, (in a very nasty tone) "you need to look at this other screen here!" As she points to the credit card screen, and continues with, "you know, if you get with the melenium and look over here!" ARE YOU F-ING KIDDING ME?!?!?! I have NEVER had such a rude, patronizing, inappropriate experience in my life! I almost bit right through my tongue! Not only did I have a full-grown woman just talked to me like that, but the way she acted was worse than most teenagers! Then she proceeded to just toss groceries in the bag with no care. As I checked out, and got home, I had taken a doughnut out that I had purchased. I had gotten a dozen of them. They were all soggy on the outside and stale inside. I spent $5.00 on them, and after my experience I wasn't even going to take them back. The whole dozen went out with the trash. My fruit that I picked so carefully through to get the least soggy of the selection was also bruised. I know it wasn't that way when I picked them out. I will NEVER return to the store! read more

It's nice and empty, easy to get around in. They are not well stocked, for instance today, they do not have buttermilk.

I went to this store yesterday evening, I purchased wine. As I approached the counter I said, "hello" to the elderly male cashier. No response, I then said, "hello, how are you?" Again, no response. I'm thinking to myself, there is really something wrong with this man. I frequent this store often and the worker's are usually friendly and helpful, so that's why I even went through with the purchase. My husband had also made a purchase in the beer section but he went to the car after his purchase while I continued to shop. When I got to the car I started talking about how rude the male cashier was and he replied, " Yeah, he was really nasty and his badge read, Ned-store manager." I am appalled this man Ned is the leader of this store. I have never seen such a unprofessional and rude man. I mean here is a customer who says hello to him, not once but twice and doesn't even have the decency to acknowledge them. To make matters's worse, NED is the STORE MANAGER!!! I will never, ever shop in this store again. It is dirty, out-of-date, and on a busy weeknight they had only one register open. Eight people in line. A "manager" who tells an employee to take a break even with all the customers standing in line (to the employee's credit, she opened up her register and helped the customers). I unfortunately was in the other cashier's line. I finally got to the front of the line, and the "manager" comes over and hands him a Nestle candy bar, which he rings up for himself before he helps me. The cashier was just filthy. I try really hard not to judge others, but I'm sorry, this guy had bitten off, dirty fingernails, and I was just skeeved out by him touching my food. I very rarely refuse to go back to a store, but this was just awful. Folks, do yourself a favor, and drive the extra 20 minutes to the Weis in Tannersville instead. And not for nothing, there's a WalMart Supercenter right across the street. When local business whine about how WalMart is "taking" all their business, they should look to this example as a possible reason why. Never again. read more
