Today was truck day, so some workers were stocking the shelves. I was able to find everything I was looking for.

He can go all he wants, but I will never step foot in that store again. The floor for a good 20 ft. by the produce section was absolutely filthy, with black marks like a car skidding on a highway! I asked a woman who was loading bins why it was so awful. She said it's always like that because shoppers roll over grapes and small tomatoes and such and spread it all around. WHAT?! Then why doesn't a janitor or other employee go clean it up? Made me want to gag. Nope, nope, nope to Aldi's.

Have you ever been to a garage sale at a hoarders house? That's a lot like our experience at CTown…read more I am just going to assume the "C" stands for clutter. I will say the store has a very wide and abundant selection. Most of the items seem to have been unpacked exactly where they were delivered and piled up by a toddler with ADHD. If you are looking for soda, it can be found in four different aisles and/or stacked randomly with bread, snack cakes, and cat food. No real ordered sections other than "cold produce," "meat," and "everything else." As I perused the meat case, I noticed that the steaks/chops were cut very unevenly and some of the meat was oxidized. I could not immediately tell if it was accidentally heated during wrapping or if it was simply old. I noted they are looking for a new butcher and I truly hope they find one as this current one ain't cutting it (pun intended). No issues with the produce section. Veggies/fruits were well kept and looked good. The aisles are EXTREMELY narrow. Maneuvering through as others do the same is incredibly difficult. As I mentioned, there really doesn't seem to be a plan to this place. While items are grouped together, it is somewhat loosely done and very confusing. The store is loud. VERY loud. The PA system must be turned to "Jet Engine" as my ears were ringing after each garbled announcement. Due to the narrow passages and the numerous customers climbing all over each other, it's difficult to hear yourself think. I had heard of CTown before and expected the prices to be better however they seem to be higher for what you are getting. They are charging USDA Prime prices for Choice and Select meats. I wanted to give this place a chance. In the end, I realized that if I am looking for specific cultural foods/ingredients, CTown is great. For everything else, any daily needs, anywhere else is better.

Addition to review 1/18/14:…read more I have a problem: I broke the seal. I hopped in my car and drove down to Turkey Hill under the facade of getting gas. But in my heart, I knew I was just going to get the sausage, egg, and cheese on croissant ($2.19) and breakfast scrambler ($0.99). I mean, i can get gas when we're on our way home later tonight...but I can't get my breakfast at that time. The scrambler is basically an over-sized hash brown with egg inside and it is a nice complement to something...say, the sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant. The croissant is so buttery and I like the white american cheese they use. It's got me hooked. Just as a note: I've tried other sandwiches of theirs that use bagels, but I'd skip those. The bagels are kinda chewy and heavy, whereas the croissant is fluffy, buttery goodness through and through. Now that I've admitted I have a problem...I don't think I'll have any problem just driving down for a sandwich and coming back. Original Review from 12/23/13: Check your couch for loose change. If you've done a thorough job, then you probably have enough to purchase a breakfast sandwich, a bag of chips, a cup of coffee, and some candy for the road from Turkey Hill. I'm from NY, so every time I stop here I have to do a double-take when the cashier reads the total out for me. Gas is regularly 30 cents cheaper per gallon than in the city, and if you get a Turkey Hill Rewards card (free), you get an additional 3 cents knocked off the price. Open 24/7, friendly staff, blah blah blah. Nothing bad to say at all about this location.
