I don't think I've ever seen a bigger dumpster fire of a grocery store. Unprofessional barely cuts it. People standing around on their phones, trying so hard to avoid doing anything, actually straight up ignoring the customers. They act like children tossing goods around (no wonder half of their stuff turns out to be damaged), moldy fruits (every. single. container.), and to top it all off I heard from someone who used to work there. They stopped shopping there because even the employee discount didn't make it worth the BS they had to endure. Save your time and money and shop at GIANT right across the street. I liked that I could get a card instantly and become a member for the discount at the booth inside. I did not like that the cashier stared at me trying to rush to bag my items with the next person in line waiting rather than helping since they were finished scanning. Bought a 500 dollar gift card from here and it was immediately stolen and the money disappeared and stolen off the card. Some kind of scam. Asked for them to honor it and give me the money back but they wouldn't honor it. Gave me the run around and ultimately did nothing about it. Weis Market is very unethical in their business. Bag of ice they sell it for $4.99 cents...a freaking bag of ice when walmart sells it for 1.80 cents. There has to be some regulation for the prices they put out there. I detest self-check out - and this last experience at the Weis at Huntingdon Valley, PA (where I always shop Weis) was the final straw: I was in Weis last week checking out - of course I needed help as the "scale" did not recognize the weight of an item. Anyway, one associate (a long term employee - not a kid) was "guarding" the self-check out registers - I had to call out to her for help - she said nothing but went to a register one away from me and started messing with it (no customer was there)....I said to her: "excuse me, can you help me". She said she couldn't be in two places at once....I said to her that there is no customer at that register, I am a customer, please help me. She finished whatever she was doing, came over, scanned her magic card and walked away. Never said a word. Shopping at Weis should not be raising my blood pressure. read more

I grew up going to Weis... that is until Giant got their act together. The store is very clean, bathrooms are nice and products are sort of easy to find... once you orient yourself within the store. I will never make a special trip to Weis, but if I am near by, it is a great place to pop in a get a few needed items. Prices are better than Genuardi's. read more

Had to stop by the bakery to pick up a cookie cake to send my brother for his birthday. They had plenty of delicious desserts to choose from and I REALLY wanted to taste it all (but I behaved!). They had different sizes of cookie cakes prepared with different designs and borders, all that you could customize. The decorator was friendly and funny, and beautifully wrote what I requested in a matter of minutes! Can't wait to hear how he likes his cake. read more

I have to shop at 2 places now. Weis's for certain items. But never meat anymore. Yes, we all know about prices going up everywhere. But 3 times now in the past few months bought things that were bad. Breakfast sausage, cabbage, and a roast that was red but when I went to cook it was greenish on the bottom. The selection of meat that is sky high like everywhere else looks horrible. As far as other items, they are cheaper than Acme. Acme however has a much better selection and quality of meat and is a bit cheaper than Weis's for that. So I do not buy anything fresh from Weis's anymore including produce. Oh, and yes forgot about the bag of apples that were rotten so that makes 4 items that were bad. Love the people that work there though, know them because I have been coming here since this store opened. Also not only this store but me being 60 and many other people my age all hate those digital coupons. They should just be put right on our Weis's card. It's very annoying. Oh and the part that really made me made was around Easter, free ham, OR $4.99 salmon. Still had plenty of points for both but could only pick one. Why was that? Was spending $400 a week before I stopped buying meat there. And what would you like me to do with the rest of those points? Cheap prices, rude employees. They had some wine stocked with the wrong price tag, and when we asked about the price difference (showed the cafe cashier the actual shelf we got the wine from with the price) he got super rude and defensive saying it's not his fault that customers move the tag around, that we should've done a price check first if we wanted to know, etc etc. I asked him if he could put the correct label on to prevent further customer confusion and he said no. This is one of my primary grocery stores. To be honest, I love the staff here more than other places in the area. I once went to other local places on Superbowl Sunday and no one even looked at me. All of the staff were talking about the game that night. I couldn't find what I wanted and I went to Weis. People were still talking about the game in the morning, but they would stop talking, smile at me, and ask if they could help me. I didn't want help, but it stood out to me that it doesn't happen anywhere else to me. I think this one woman there is the produce manager and she always says hello to me and asks if she could help me. I look confused a lot, because some days I want the ingredients to inspire whatever I might cook. They have a great beer selection and on New Year's Eve I went in for one small item and was frightened of the line. Fortunately for me, it was the line for alcohol and I needed some food. That line must have been twenty people deep. It's a popular place for a six pack. read more

I've been here twice recently -- once for the beer prior to a Yelp event, and once to grocery shop. Both were great experiences. BEER: You can mix your own six-pack for a flat rate of, I think, $10.99. They offer a variety of awesome names to choose from, too, which is great. You can buy them room temp or chilled. If cold, there's the option of sitting down and drinking in their cafe area. On my latter visit, I was chatting with the people working the area as I've been attempting to find a certain beer. Even though they didn't stock it, they were really friendly, and as I was walking away, I quite literally stumbled upon a six-pack of Total Domination IPA (Ninkasi). AKA: One of my all-time favorite beers. So, so, so great!! FOOD: Since it was my first visit, and also since I was trying to avoid 76 rush hour on my way back to Philly, I decided to walk down nearly every aisle. I don't know if it was because it was an off-time, but this was one of the most peaceful grocery shopping experiences I've had in recent times. No crazy crowds, no packed aisles. Just me and the products. Loved it. As much as someone can love grocery shopping. And let's be real. I hate grocery shopping. So I don't know why I wrote that. But, besides the point. All in all: I'll certainly consider returning to this Weis. At least from my first shopping day, it appeared to be much better than several other grocers. Prices were on the higher end, but I'd recommend opening a Weis card to offset some of that. read more

Bad customer service. This store is selling expired foods, disgusting foods with no dates mentioned. Bad smelling foods. When asked about the date and the expired foods the shop owner told he won't return the money instead call police and talk to him. when we had a issue and tried to talk about the product than the shopkeeper said he is busy watching video ignored the customer. Weis is a 24 hr operation which makes it a lot easier knowing they will not close at a certain time, giving you enough time to get your shopping done. Working in this area I rarely have time to go shopping to get the essentials I need ,seeing I finish late in the evening where others are closed. Weis is large inside with wide lanes, very clean, and bright very easy to locate items . It has a big foot court inside with different varieties of food to choose from hot meals or cold, great for on the go. Weis has reasonable prices, along with a friendly staff to add with 24 hr service. These guys are good in my book read more

Just wanted to let you know why I will no longer be a customer. I opened the cottage cheese I bought this week from Weis only to discover it expired IN SEPTEMBER. Today is December 13th! This is not the first or second time this has happened from your store, and I will not risk it happening again. It should not be my responsibility to check every products expiration date. I debating giving even a single star, but the staff is so helpful that the one star is for them. Probably nobody rates supermarkets. But this has to happen. I abandoned Giant, Shop Rite, McCafferys for Weis. I was impressed with the always helpful and ever present staff. But I am at the point where I doubt I will ever return there. I am far from being a clean freak. But when it comes to handling food I definitely pay attention. Initially I was impressed with the obligatory Lysol liquid and wipes at the door. Eventually the dispensers were empty. No sanitary products. I repeatedly asked the managers to just get some from the shelves and put them at the front door. They apologized saying that they were short staffed. But this happens all the time. In the past months...during the flu season... I have never been there when there were wipes at the door to wipe down the carts. Finally they stuck an open roll of dry Bounty towels on top of an empty dispenser. On the way out I saw it had fallen on to the dirty floor. Makes no sense.. Now I've gone on a new campaign. The conveyor belts that move our food at checkout are filthy. Leaky chicken, fish and meat packages leave residue on conveyor belts where I put my eggs , milk, fresh fruit etc. I complained and was advised that the conveyor belts get wiped down after every shift. God knows what they use to wipe them down because they certainly don't have any Lysol wipes available. Today the belt was absolutely disgusting. Empty checkout aisle conveyor belts were also dirty which blows apart the theory that they are cleaned at the end of every shift and when out of service. My final blast is the difficulty in navigating the aisles. On the Saturday before Easter staff were loading the shelves. Customers had difficulty navigating. Especially in the dairy aisle. Really? You can't do this Friday night before one of the busiest Saturdays of the year? Ugh. See ya Weis Market. Back to Wegmans. Trust me...i will be watching other markets for these same cleanliness issues. read more

Really like the grocery store. It's produce is fresh and there is a good variety. As another bonus, they recently added a bottle shop which has a terrific variety. Some of the beer is a little pricey but there are also some good deals. Check out has always been quick and courteous. read more

Haven't done much grocery shopping here, but heard about the new bottle shop and decided to check it out on a Friday night. It's open late, which is great, and is much larger than I expected. There's a limited selection of refrigerated beers, but there's a couple rows of shelves stocked with all sorts of craft brews, and there's both room temp and cold singles so you can mix and match your own 6 pack. I'll never understand the crazy PA liquor laws, but I'm quite content they allow me to pick up beer at the grocery store - I'll definitely be back. read more

Absolutely dreadful. The only staff that I have seen are high school aged kids who are clueless and never have answers. Things are never in stock. The liquor line is so long every time I have tried to buy wine that the last time I had to actually drive to a liquor store across the street to avoid wasting time waiting. Recently, I went to this store and a male store employee kept following me around while I was trying to shop. Nearly every aisle I went into, the store employee would be very close to me and the aisles I was in, and he would pretend to ''rearrange'' items on the stands and shelves. I am extremely angry, uncomfortable, and unhappy about this rude and unnecessary incident. There were also another incident where I bought strawberries and oranges from this store and there was MOLD on nearly all of the oranges and strawberries. I will NOT be returning to this store in the future, and I will tell others about these misfortunes as well. Today was the grand opening, so I stopped by in the morning. The layout has stayed pretty much the same as Genuardi's but the prices are slightly lower and everything is "Weis" brand instead of "Safeway." The gourmet cheeses selection is larger but the prepared foods section is almost nonexistent. They had maybe 2 rotisserie chickens and 1 pack of fried wings on the warmer. The made-to-order sandwich stand will also be missed. I really liked and will miss the paninis and the buy 7, get 1 free offer program. They don't have the prepared salads anymore either so Saladworks will be your only option for a low carb lunch in the shopping center. Service was definitely a lot better and the staff are actually helpful! Imagine that! If you sign up for a store card, you will also get a spend $50, save $10 coupon, which is a nice surprise. It seems like there is potential here so hopefully, they will bring back some of the prepared foods options that made Genuardi's appealing. read more

Loved this store for years, however the produce is so bad that i have recently stopped shopping there. Meat selection is great and they have great deals. The beer is a plus. The ethnic food selection is awesome! Authentic korean dumplings and noodles. The produce is so so sad though. Would love to give it a higher star rating but just can't. The fruit is usually so on borderline of going bad or puny. The vegetables are bad or puny. Organic section is sparse. :( read more

The only other Weis I've ever seen was in the Poconos and now I've realized that they are just a bare bones grocery store. What can be said about your local grocer who provides fresh food to purchase at fair prices AND the opportunity to procure your favorite malt and barley beverage? You may think you have crossed state lines when pulling into the Weis parking lot as you'll notice electric beer signs in the windows and patrons hauling their latest IPA fix or bottom of the barrel swill out to their cars. Lucky for me, I discovered the Weis market excellent food and grocery selection by way of their decision to sell the devil's nectar. Best grocery store in town. It is clean and organized at all times. The fruits and veggies are great as is the organic section. Te only thing that they never seem to have is tempeh but that's okay because they always have a great stock of all the necessary health foods. What's special is the beer sections. They have beer in cases and six packs. What I LOVE about this place though is you an make your own six pack of the really amazing selections they have at the store. For $11 you can select beers that you've never tried before! I love it!! Lines are never really long and they have plenty of self check outs that are easy to use. The only other thing they could improve is their floral selection. I like bringing home fresh flowers every week and find that I continue to go to whole foods because the selection is healthier and more diverse than carnations (yuck). read more
