Everything we tried was absolutely delicious--the cheeses were rich in the Croque Monsieur and flavorful, they were silky and comforting, and every bite tasted like someone in the kitchen genuinely cared. The service was just as wonderful; our server was warm, attentive, cute AF and made us feel right at home. The outdoor seating was perfect for people-watching, which, let's be honest, These German guys are super handsome. Köln did not disappoint... I don't know what they're putting in the water here, but Germans really do make strolling down the street look like a model show. Anyways, whatever you do, save room for the chocolate soufflé. It was awkward as I walked out and a local walked me back in and announced to everyone that I thought I was lost. It have everyone quite the entertainment. Despite that welcome the food was amazing and super intricate. The food descriptions are simple yet three plates arrive for one course. People surrounding me were being served at least 8 to 12 courses and I was so full after my six. More than enough! Total bill with two glasses of wine was 150 euros. I loved that in spite of the chilly 40 degree temps, patrons were sitting at benches outside with blankets provided by the bar enjoying their drinks. When we arrived it was 10:45 and when we asked as we sat down when they closed, the young bartender told us they closed at 11pm, but would let us know when last call came around. We ordered a couple of lovely German reds and proceeded to enjoy another hour or so of conversation and another glass of wine. Finally at nearly midnight we hear last call. While we didn't partake, we watched the the bartenders putting together lovely plates of charcuterie and cheese with bread. As we'd just had dinner, we just couldn't eat another bite, but it all looked so good. They had a great selection of wines and friendly service.
