Waiter also brought two large plates of tiramisu and panna cotta on the house to our group, was also a pleasant surprise and a very nice touch. I always appreciate when servers go out of their way to ensure you have a good dining experience. Good service goes a long way in my eyes and really makes the restaurant stand out. The set three or four course menu when I dined there recently was almost from start to finish a hyperglicemic's worst nightmare, every course from the scallop starter to the miniscule (fortunately) serving of kohlrabi "souped" up with vanilla, mango and other sweets to the sweet reduction on the beef. Not to mention the beef was served with SWEET potatoes. The scallop course had chunks of sweetened miniature corn and was topped for who knows what reason with crushed corn nuts! Scallops are somewhat delicate and the corn nuts really did them in. To give them credit the wines were good from different regions of Germany and France. To top things off, between the second and main course I was served a cup of espresso. Well, I thought, here's something novel, an intermezzo surprise to cleanse the palate after all the cloying sweetness but the surprise was that it was mis-delivered to me instead of to another table. The 12 floor restored my faith with my daughter Adrian (named after #94) and her cousin Madisen showed me family IS the best medicine... The spazle portion was enormous and loaded with gorgeously caramelized onions and cheese. The cheese schnitzels were exactly as you could imagine, crispy crunchy on the outside with a golden crusty and ooey gooey stretchy cheese on the inside, paired with either sauce it was fantastic. Jaegar sauce was packed with mushrooms in a brown gravy and the Balkan were fresh chopped onions, a flavorful red sauce and a white sauce with fresh herbs. Amazing amazing. Easily one of the best meals I had on my trip. Oh I made a reservation by the way so not sure how walking in would look like. Staff were very nice.
