AVOID THIS PLACE. I had the worst dining experience of my life in Burhan's. I ordered a soup and main dish (about 19 euro). There were no drinks on the menu nor did I ask for a drink. The waiter asked what I wanted and I clearly said "tap water" ... so they bring out a clear bottle of water without label that they filled up in the back room and serve it to me. I tell them "No drink. I did not order any drink". The waitress is angry and storms off. A minute later, a fellow whom I assumed to be the manager or Burham himself, came straight to my table and got down to my level and got in my face angrily speaking in German. I explained in English that I had even wanted a drink but did order a significant meal and I would be happy with that. He stated that this was a restaurant (implying that drinks MUST be ordered). Again there was no drink menu to even know what charges are there. I asked how much for the water they served and he said 3.90 euros ($5). When I asked to just have my soup and main dish, he again stated this was a restaurant and opened the door and motioned for me to get out - this is front of all the other patrons. I went on that a friend had recommended his place and it would not be good to treat me this way - he said he didn't care, get out. I then told him I was going to write this up on Yelp, again he said he did not care. It was a rude experience that caught me totally off guard. I had just arrived in Stuttgart after a long train ride, and was happily enjoying a walk around town, and wanted to celebrate with a nice dinner. It was just shocking how rude this fellow was - and how it ruined my entire evening.
I think the thing with Burham is they are looking for big profits by adding a bunch of expensive drinks to your tab, and I upset them by not wanting any drinks. By the way, this place is right next to a street full of hookers and an "Eros Center" (brothel). One of the hookers yelled at me not to take a picture when I innocently stood next to Burhams before going in, and though the colored lights were pretty. read more
