Initial print at Mikes had lots of digital noise. Justin, the print guru at the Menlo Park store, asked me to bring in the 4x6 print so he could scan it . Fortunately I was able to find the original negative ( one good thing about being a packrat). Justin was able to make a HD scan of the negative, do some processing and print a beautiful 11x14 image - I couldn't be happier. Great service from a very knowledgeable and talented printer - something you don't always find in a local store I have entered many prints made here in photo contests - win or lose- the judge usually mentions they were high quality prints. Problem often with my composition - not the print. On average need 1-3 prints a month for competition, more if having exhibit. Will continue to get them from Mike's Camera Menlo Park

Second: smartphones have ruined photography, and it's getting increasingly more difficult to find gear, accessories, peripherals... but San Jose Camera has always had what I've looked for (except my fav Canon lens, no longer manufactured). The people here are consummate professionals, exceptionally well-versed and experienced photographers. They know their stuff: I've had questions about Canon, Minolta, Nikon, and Hasselblad cameras and they knew the answer without looking it up. (Price of gear is the only exception.) Sort of an old-school type, I still dabble in film photography, especially in astrophotography, and they've had excellent recommendations for what I'm looking for in film, even discussed some ideas I hadn't considered. I used to spend a few hours a week here... purchased a number of lenses here and taken a number of classes. My highest recommendation for these classes: I learned so much in these... as good as any you'll find professionally.

I dropped off my photo, explained what I wanted, and was told they'd call me later that day. It was getting close to closing time and I hadn't heard back, so I called. It definitely slipped their mind to call me. I was also nervous because this is our one and only copy and worried that they might misplace it. Anyways, we went over everything again, including pricing, and I was told it would be ready the next day by noon. I came back after work, hours after I was told it would be done. It still wasn't ready. They had to locate my original photo and print/cut everything on the spot while I waited. To their credit, the edits (reducing blur and glare) turned out well, and the attendant was apologetic throughout. However, I also had to return again to pick up my original photo, which they again had trouble locating. Overall, the final product was decent, but the process felt disorganized and inconvenient. I don't usually expect discounts, but given the multiple issues, it would have been nice and I probably wouldn't have written this review. Can't say I recommend them.

My obsession with Tiffany started when she captured our engagement photos in Moss Beach.  I had a specific picture I had envisioned and obsessed about, and like a bad client I didn't tell Tiffany.  When I got back my pictures, there it was!  I knew from that day on I would never use another photographer. When it came to us picking a photographer for our destination wedding in Palm Springs, I felt a gravitational pull towards Tiffany, and she didn't disappoint.  She made the booking portion very simple and easy.  I sent her a list of shots we wanted and she pretty much captured everything I could even think of, and more.  She leaned into our moody "old Hollywood" look.  She worked our 200+ wedding like she'd been doing it for decades.  She works with light like a master artist.  What comes out at the end will absolutely blow your mind.  And on top of it all, she's a lot of fun to work with and makes you feel so comfortable.  I honestly wanted her to stay the entire wedding as a guest because I felt so close to her after our journey together. .... And thank God she has a sense of humor because when I wanted to do a funny gender reveal, newborn shoot for our new puppy, Frankie, she was all in!! She was even able to swaddle our 9 week only puppy! My husband actually said, when we were looking to book a photographer for our wedding, that he only wanted to work with Tiffany.  That's when I knew she would be apart of our lives forever.  I'm pretty sure 99.9% of the pictures framed in our house are all taken by Tiffany.  Tiffany captures the stuff that dreams are made of.  Thank you Tiffany for being apart of our big moments and giving us the greatest gifts, our memories live and in living color (or moody and in black and white when the occasion arises).
