Started with a Benediktiner beer which was your typical Bavarian style beverage, and a small salad with a red vinaigrette dressing. Those led up to a gilt-head filet dressed up nicely and was very tasty. Service is pretty formal here, white gloved while setting tables, etc. It could be a little slow, so don't expect to be in and out in 30 minutes. Breakfasts are buffet style, but soooooo good. Typical meats/cheeses/breads/fresh fruits and eggs made to order. I mixed it up all week and wasn't tired of eating at the same place each day. Wonderful addition to a very nice hotel. Cafe Ruffini has two parts: it's split into a "take away" portion where you can point at a window and take cafe eats with you if you're on the go. OR you can grab a seat inside. I was here midday and it was packed! We had to wait around for a little bit. There was something for everyone whether you were sitting for a cappuccino & a cake or there for a whole meal. Upon entering, you'll see an enticing case of pastries. As a non-German speaker/ tourist, I was pretty reluctant to ask, but there was charming man, that spoke enough english to help me with my curious sweet tooth. I picked the walnut cake (see pic). It seemed like the popular thing. By the last bites of it, I saw 2-3 others had ordered the same. If you want to spruce up your normal coffee routine, get the amaretto latte. It's a bit sweet, but a treat to top off a meal along with that walnut cake. Ok...I think I've just convinced myself that I need to go back soon. Walnut cake + amaretto latte. One more thing, I think they screen films there at night and/or have live music too. This might be another excuse to go back. They have an extensive wine list available online. Good wine selection and good food (organic if you care), in the summertime the rooftop terrace is usually open (self-service though, but very nice for sundowns or breakfast). Often quite full, especially on weekends - if you want to come with 4+ people better to reserve a table. Be aware though, that the many good reviews received by this place not necessarily mean that this is a perfect cafe. If you see it from the outside or take a quick first impression look inside you may wonder if this is the right place - I think the reviews just show that people like to hang out here, the atmosphere is nice despite the dated interior. :-)

The wine list both by the glass and bottle is extensive. The stemware is gorgeous. We started with a German sparkling rose and moved on to a beautiful white wine to pair with our dinner. Be forewarned, the menu is quite limited. The pinchos are really akin to bruschetta with different toppings. We had a caponata and a beet with goat cheese. For the mains, I had the only fish item on the menu. Others enjoyed the risotto and the beef bourguignon. Opted against dessert but the menu looked nice. And the service is spectacular! If you're looking for a great place to meet up with friends, colleagues or even a date, this wine bar ticks all the boxes.

A gorgeous organic and natural wine bar that opened a few months ago here. They have a selection of…read morewines to buy and take home and a small seating area for about 10-15 people for drink. You can buy a bottle here and they charge you a corkage fee for using the bar. They also have a small food menu with local bits and bites. The selection of wine is small but nice with a good range from across Europe. The guy who owns the place is nice and friendly and willing to make recommendations based on your preferences. It is a one man shop so some patience is needed when busy. All in all a nice addition to the Munich bar scene and lovely ambience. Happily come here again.

From the outside it looks tiny but when you step in, you realize how big it is. This is a cafe, wine bar, small shop combined in one. The ambience is very nice here and there is an industrial look and feel to the place. There is an old Heidelberg press in the back and an old car parked there. There is a smattering of shelves around the place with wine, food items and so on. I am guessing they sell it. They have a real old style coffee machine and there were some nice looking cakes on the counter. It was fairly busy and even though the shop timing says it's closed on Sunday's, it was open ;-) coffee was good and the food looked quite ok. Must come back and try the food here. If you happen to be in the museum quarter this place is very close by. I walk along here a bit so likely to come back and check it out.
