Sometimes I begin to take Wegmans for granted...then I make a quick stop at another grocery store (I'm looking at you, Shoprite of Somerville) and I'm reminded why Wegmans is my go-to grocery store. The store is large, clean and has a great selection. I can be pretty picky about store brands, but Wegmans brand is consistently high quality and well-priced. Overall, I really like the selection of cheese and have had some delicious items from the bakery section. The alcohol selection is generally pretty good and pricing is consistent with stand-alone liquor stores. There is also an extensive selection of healthy/organic items that can be hard to find at other grocery stores. Some of the more "gourmet" items can get a little bit on the pricey side. The Wegmans app is great for making a shopping list. You can sign into one account on the app from multiple devices and add items throughout the week. When you are at the store, your list is organized in a logical order and you can check things off as you go. Huge time saver. My only complaint is that I feel the quality of the prepared food bar has gone down. I used to like to stop there for a quick meal before or after shopping, but lately I feel like the hot food is significantly less appetizing and not as tasty. Also, they clear the hot food relatively early; if you arrive at 6:30 looking for something, a good portion of the hot food bar has already been cleared. I love this place. The only grocery store i go to. Great liquor options, the food is always fresh, you can even grab lunch there like subs or sushi and eat in the dining area above. The employees are all usually very kind and helpful, especially Anthony who does the liquor tastings. He always chats with me and asks me all about my day! He is such a great guy and worker that even if I'm not sampling i will stop over and chat. But i usually end up buying a bottle of wine from his tastings. Wegmans is life. read more

Updating my review as Wegman's has quickly become one of my favorite places of all time. It's amazing and as good as it gets in terms of supermarkets. We recently moved to the area and have converted to Wegman's after being long time Shop Rite followers. We always stuck with Shop Rite as the prices are very good but I've noticed there's really not much of a price difference at all between Wegman's and Shop Rite. In fact, there are a ton of our "regular" items where Wegman's is the cheapest we've found. The only thing I've noticed that Wegman's is pretty expensive on is their meats. But, they're much better quality than any other ordinary supermarket so I'm OK paying a bit of a premium. Yes, the place is huge and there can be a ton of people. The only area I ever think gets really hectic is the produce area. Other than that, you can easily maneuver around the rest of the store. Another plus is that they have plenty of registers open so you don't have to wait in line very long. The cashiers are also incredibly efficient which makes it nice. Wegman's brand products are also much better than any other supermarket. You can save some coin but not really give up any quality. There are so many sections to this supermarket -- pizza area, sushi, coffee, etc. You can make a pretty enjoyable trip out of going to the supermarket which is nice. The best part about Wegman's is that they have a ridiculously huge liquor store attached. They have the best craft beer selection I've ever seen anywhere. It's like a Bottle King in the store. If you are looking for a tough to find beer and Wegman's does not have it, good luck finding it anywhere. And, the prices are great. They are much more reasonable than basically every other place in the area. It really is amazing. So, I'm a huge fan. It's everything you could ask for in a supermarket and then some. Plus, they are always giving away free samples of something and it will actually be some good items (fine cheeses, swordfish, scallops, etc.). The store was nice but the staff I feel were not trained or educated on what they were selling! The man that helped us at the deli was awful plus the meat and cheese were already cut and the cheese was stuck all together. Will not by my deli items there anymore. Then at the fish dept. the girl was asked by a woman next to me the directions on warming up the already cook lobster tail and she had no clue. So the woman said no thanks and walked away as did I! If your going to have staff working in certain depts. then please train them! Nothing more annoying then someone saying I don't know when they work there!!!! read more

I'm pretty sure Wegmans is the only grocery store where all of the Store brand products are better than the leading brand. This place has so much to offer it's crazy. The bakery has a large selection of everything there are tons of cookies, pastries, bagels, rolls, cakes and breads. The bread is some of the best I've ever had, and there is always fresh bread coming out of the weekends because of how quickly it goes. The produce section is impressive, especially the apples. I mostly come here for meat and bread. I'm not usually a fan of cold cuts, but their store baked ham is actually to die for. They have pre-portioned and marinated chicken breasts which have become a staple in my house. I also picked up something that seems like a newer product. It was a pork roast that was seasoned and it gave directions on how to roast it right in the bag. Some other items that I picked up were a cashew crusted chicken breast, and a chipotle lime finishing butter, which I'm so excited to try. Aside from the meats there are some nice specialty products. This is the only place in NJ where I've ever been able to purchase cadbury crunchie bars (UK product). The asian section isn't huge but has decent finds like Vermont Curry, Furikake, and assorted candy. At least it saves me a trip the the asian market. They also make sushi, but I have not tried it yet. Wegmans has a hot food bar with many different sections like Asian, comfort food, Italian and chicken wings. The Asian food is a huge mix there is Thai, Indian, and even your typical American "Chinese" food. I haven't tried anything but I did take a walk through to see what was there. I also have yet to try Wegmans pizza but I did buy their sauce to make my own pizza and the sauce was tasty. I won't hesitate to say that Wegmans is my favorite grocery store. I just hope that the location that is supposedly coming to Hanover, NJ will hurry up! North Jersey needs you, Wegmans. read more

Best. Grocery. Store. Chain. Ever. I went to college in Rochester, New York where Wegman's is based. In Rochester, Wegman's is sort of an institution. It literally has a monopoly on the grocery store market up there. Whereas in NJ you have tons of different brands, up in Rochester, there are Wegman's stores every 5 minutes and then you might have a Tops here or there. Now I will start off by saying that this Wegman's is not anywhere near the Pittsford Wegman's in terms of epicness, it is still deserving of 5 stars. The Bridgewater Wegman's is divided into two sections- beer/wine/liquor and grocery. It used to be that you couldn't travel between the two sections and consolidate everything, but recent changes have allowed you to. The alcohol section of the store is decent. The selection is so so and you can get what you need in terms of your drink of choice. It is no Total Wine in terms of selection, but you must remember that this is a grocery store and not a liquor store. The grocery section is where Wegman's truly shines. When you first enter, you are greeted by a very large produce section. Wegman's likes to pride itself on getting local produce and they will tell you where the local produce is. I have never had a problem with Wegman's produce. It is always fresh and good. To the immediate left of the produce section is an enormous bakery, hot foods, deli, meat, seafood, etc. section. They have a good variety of hot foods. The prices are good. The food is good well. You can really tell that the employees put their hearts into making the food. The bakery also has a large selection. What is nice is that you can see all the ovens where they bake the various breads, pastries, muffins, etc. I have never had a problem with any of their baked goods. All of their baked goods are extremely good and fresh. One of my favorites is their cinnamon muffin! So so good. The meat counter has a good selection. They also have prime meats to choose from which is nice (when getting prime meats, please please please don't cook them on a grill. Get a nice cast iron skillet and do it that way. Also, never ever put anything other than oil, salt, and pepper on a prime meat). They have a large cheese selection as well. In the middle of the counters are cases filled with various food items. They also have a chef island in the center where they have classes (What other grocery store has chef classes???). The rest of the store is extremely large. They use the split isle concept where they split the isles in two making it easier to maneuver throughout the store. Employees are beyond friendly. Wegman's actually doesn't allow employees to have interactions with their customers until they have gone through extensive training. When they come out of that training you have super nice employees who are always willing to help you. There is a reason why Wegman's is touted as the number one grocery store in America. Man oh man. This automatically became my favorite grocery store when i found out that they make FRESH BAGELS. Oh man. I stop by here in the mornings just to get fresh, warm, SOFT bagels by the bag. Blueberry, Marco Polo, I could die here. Then I tried their Asian buffet. Lemon Pepper fish, shrimp in cream sauce, wontons, spring rolls, general tso's ... I could definitely, willingly die here. THEN they opened this hugeee liquor area on one end of the store. Alcohol from all over the world, divided by origin. 50 million kinds of lager, wine from South Africa, France, Italy, South Carolina... and of course everything in between. And great, great prices. We go to Wegmans every week for shopping. There are a large collection of organic food with reasonable price. Also, there are many choices for prepared food, which helps a lot for busy parents like me. read more

The price point is great! The cashiers bag for you! They sell local produce and meat. The house brand costs less and is as good and often better than the national brands. I love Wegmans for all their foods they even have an upstairs portion which you can eat the food you bought up there which is fun if your kids are starving. There is a reason that Wegman's is considered one of the best, if not the best, supermarket chain in the country. I've done extensive work in the grocery store industry in my career and have analyzed the finances and business model of almost every major publicly owned grocery store chain over the last two decades. Whenever I talk professionally about the problems in the industry, I point to Wegman's as a sign of how you can do great in this business. There is almost nothing they do that isn't done well. Their private label products are great, their customer service is exceptional, and its produce sections should be the model for everyone else in the industry to copy. Honestly, the only downside of this store is how crowded it can get because it is so good. Their prices are probably a bit higher than competitors in some ways, but at least with Wegman's I know their store brands are equal in quality (in some cases better) than the national brands and the high-turnover in produce always means you're buying fresh products. Wegman's is a bit far from me for it to be our regular store. Which, for us, isn't a bad thing because their products are so good that I'd probably be buying a lot more than we need just because it all looks so great. Heck, they even sell these great bottles of wine for under $10 a bottle that are just an incredible value. From a professional perspective, I really applaud the Wegman's family for maintaining a high standard by avoiding the problems that could come with growing as fast as they probably could. Nice food selection but consistently long SLOW lines to check out. And those are the express lines! Terri the cashier the couple times I've been in there recently has been working the express lane and just ringing up a person with a couple items takes her way too long! And when someone with a weeks load of shopping goes in the express line, the store manager says it's not for wegmans to have them go to a different line. They're more than willing to pander to the 1 big spender at the expense of 5 or more customers with smaller purchases that have to wait even longer. We'll help them out and not shop there. read more

I'm a big fan of wegmans and my recent trip was the first time to this particular store. Great produce selection here and I love that they have alcohol inside the actual grocery store unlike the Cherry Hill location where it's a separate building. Only downside I felt was this location's buffet compared to other wegmans. I was here around 6:30 pm on Monday and half the buffet was empty and the hot items looked like they had been sitting out for awhile so I skipped getting their salad bar/ buffet for dinner and went for an already prepared very average turkey sandwich. I think the reviews say enough. Every single one is 5 stars. I'm not even sure where to start on the reasons I love Wegmans. Most people think of Wegmans as more expensive, but I disagree. If you go to here and buy specialty items, prepared items, or meats that are already marinated of course its going to be more expensive. But comparing these items prices to regular items prices at Shop Rite or Stop and Shop is simply not fair. Their meat department is second to none. Family packs are always cheaper per pound and a great option. Also check out their butcher case which offers awesome steaks for a really good price. I love the new york strips and the premarinated beef kabobs. If you plan on marinating yourself Wegmans brand of marinades are delicious. Their prepared foods department has everything from Chinese, to pizza, to sushi. I for the most part stick with the counter directly in front of you when you walk in the market doors. There they offer you a chose between a couple different entrees which you choose one of and about 4 or 5 sides which you get to choose 2 of. Food is always different, always creative, and always delicious. There's a nice little cafe upstairs which overlooks the store and is great if you want to sit down and enjoy your food. Just a few of the great things about Wegmans. One thing that bothers me about other supermarkets is that they always look dirty. That is not an issue at Wegmans. The store including the bathrooms are always spotless which says alot about the way they run their business. Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Even though there are so many specialty departments it is never hard to find someone that can assist you because all the departments are usually staffed. Even if Wegmans is our of your way I suggest you drive the extra distance to shop here. read more

Skip catering for holidays. Always enjoy the quality at Wegmans, believed they were an ultra good idea for catering Christmas Eve. They were not. Beef inedibile, Antipasto a few pieces of cheese thrown on a platter, the cannoli's stale and soggy, the lasagna dry and cheese tasted rotten, and the rolls were stale. Over $400 and most of it wasted. Ended up using some leftovers to have food for people. Never again. read more

I was driving to Pennsylvania and saw the sign for wegmans on the highway. Wegmans is my favorite grocery store of all time so I had to stop by. It's similar to my local Massachusetts wegmans but even better. It was national cheesecake day so all over the store they had cheesecake samples. I was in paradise. The store seemed bigger than the Massachusetts store and very well stocked. Their bakery was amazing and I bought a chocolate chip cookie with an Oreo baked inside. We recently moved into the area and had never heard of a Wegmans. We needed to get some clothes for our kids at the Children's Place nearby and saw this monstrous store. We got there just after 8 and while most of the main counters were closed we saw enough to want to go back. Great and huge sandwiches, incredibly high quality meat and fish, sales associates who actually know what they are talking about...just an amazing place. Our two kids, aged 5 and 3, usually hate grocery shopping. They love Wegmans. From the free samples to how nice everyone is. We just moved from PA into Bridgewater. I was thrilled to learn that there was a Wegmans here. There is a significant difference between the Easton, PA store and the Bridgewater store. The BW store does not carry half the brands of the Easton store (smaller) and their shelves are never fully stocked. The lack of good management and customer service is very noticeable. I will probably start driving the hour to Easton just so I can get better service. read more

More and more Wegmans is starting to aggravate me when I'm shopping. At first it was a super store then, gradually began to fade in certain areas. I have noticed more and more that Wegmans does not stock certain products---selections of certain premium ice cream are getting smaller while the space devoted to the Wegmans brand is growing. Selection of various Heinz pickle products is shrinking. Today I found that Wegmans no longer stocks Kraft Cracker Barrel Cheese. Walmart is starting to look better and better. read more
