My mother died in May 2024. I went to Halligan- McCabe because they previously handled my…read moregrandmother's arrangements. I met with the Director and they started the process. We did not have any memorial with them. We did not have funeral services with them. Additionally, the Director quit while he was supposed to be handling my mother's arrangements without finishing the process. He did not order the urns. Therefore, my mother's remains were never put in an urn and were delivered by mail in a box to my home in Texas. When I called to have it taken care of, I was told to find a local funeral home to do it. They charged me over $3,000 just in administrative fees just to send a few emails. As previously mentioned, I never had any arrangements with them. I also have not been able to get the final death certificate from them so that I can close her accounts. My mother's remains are still in the box they were sent in because none of the funeral homes here with touch them without the final death certificate. Without resolving any of the aforementioned issues they have now sent me to collections for $5000+ in an attempt to be paid for services not rendered. I have no problem paying for the urns and paperwork, but they have insisted that I pay staffing and administrative fees for services not rendered. Do not use this place. This has been a terrible experience.

It was supremely disappointing to be greeted at the entrance by Runge staff not wearing a mask. The Runge mortician escorting the deceased from the church wore his mask beneath his nose. Runge's contact with the public makes them huge vectors! Sorely disappointed.

My mother and I live in California, and in effect are unable to visit my grandparents for christmas, or decorate their plots. Since the remainder of our family who all live in the area are uninterested, my mother called this morning and spoke to Lisa, who with shock offered to go decorate herself before taking her lunch break. That, is the definition of great customer service. Lisa succeeded in making my mother & I both feel so special by going out of her way to make sure my grandparents were celebrated. All the sales person keep saying to us was " if you can't afford it, you can make payments." He must of thought we could not pay for it, so as a good business person, I took his advice and took the free interest. They are very unprofessional and do not care or know what they are doing. Remember you are stuck with them! You can't exchange or go back! You are at their mercy!

My family member was treated with respect and dignity, and when we received them via USPS and open the box, they were "packaged" securely . Family member had no insurance policies and this was a respectful and considerably more economical option then coming up with thousands upon thousands of dollars for a traditional funeral.
