After only a few months my rate went up. I later found out that they had used info I didn't give them, that had auto populated in their system...they had included my EX-fiance in their quoting which drove my rate really low. Over the year that I was with them, my rate kept going up even though I didn't have any accidents. Then, the worst part is, I left State Farm to go to another company and that company sent in my cancellation info. I also called the office and informed them that I was leaving. In Illinois, you are supposed to get a refund on any premium that was not used. I was due a refund. But, not only did they NOT issue me a refund, but they charged me AGAIN! And claimed they never received my cancellation, even though I spoke to their office on the phone as well as my new agent sending in my cancellation info. When I caught the error on my bank account, I tried contacting the agent via email, phone and even their customer service line. Not one time did John Nuzzo ever call me back. The company only sent me a check for one payment when I was due a refund on two payments and they keep insisting that they never got my cancellation and that their "policy" is to only go back 30 days on a cancellation. I've spoken with two other agents at different companies and they told me that it is ILLEGAL to charge a premium when someone is covered by another company and that I'm due a refund. This is absolutely ridiculous. First they bait me into switching to their company with a fraudulently quoted rate, then they charge me when I leave and I have to go through all sorts of red tape and don't even get the refund I'm due. I would NOT trust this agent and I will NEVER be returning to State Farm.

I called before my next payment to try to cancel my policy. I was told I had to come in person to fill out some paperwork. I explained that I have moved to Michigan which is a 6 hour drive and I no longer own the vehicle. The representative told me the only other option I had was to let the payment pass and after a month it will cancel on its own. To my surprise I was charged for the policy a few weeks afterwards. I called and explained my situation. They explained that if I could show proof that I sold my vehicle they could refund me the last payment. I didn't even have proof of payment as I sold it to a stranger as a 3rd party sell. It's not like I received a receipt of the sale. They said I could have send a letter explains I wanted to cancel my policy with my signature!!!!! How the fuck are they going to tell me that when they are emailing me the paper work for me to sign right now!!!!!.... Why the fuck didn't the last agent tell me he could have emailed me the paperwork!!!!! So now this company has taken a payment out of my account when I was told I wasn't in autopay and no refund is available. This whole business is a shit show and I would recommend everyone going to find another insurance company.

Kiara was helpful, knowledgeable, and compassionate! I inquired about switching my account to their office... done!! I am a senior on a fixed income, so when Kiara suggested going over my policy, maybe she could save me some money, I was glad to try. Well she was able to find some things I didn't need!!
