Porto has so many different tapas places to choose from that it makes it difficult to make a decision on where you want to eat. This place is super cute and quaint near the waterfront in the Ribeira. It's also at the bottom of the twisty, often steep hills that you find in Porto. The owner was a very nice man who is also your chef, waiter and greeter. He told us that he had studied at Georgetown university, which I thought was pretty cool! My group was pretty hungry so we ordered the omelet with Iberian ham and cheese, scrambled eggs with Iberian ham and cheese and the goat cheese. The omelet and scrambled eggs were really good! I'm not a fan of dry eggs and these were nice and juicy but not overtly so. The ham also added some saltiness to the eggs as well. The goat cheese and honey were actually my favorite part of the meal. It was fresh goat cheese with honey drizzled on top and it was so delicious! The owner brought out two complimentary plums for us which went very well with the goat cheese. He closes early sometimes depending on how busy it is. Inside, it looked like he had a lot of different ports to try but it was breakfast and I don't like drinking that early! The bread is very fresh as well since he gets it everyday from the bakery a couple of doors down. There were a lot of tempting dishes on his menu that he served later on in the day and my breakfast, and a couple of the dishes were gluten free which is a bonus!
Overall: friendly service + good food + fresh baked goods + yummy, local cheese = this is a great place to stop and eat if you are by the Ribeira and looking to satisfy your hunger! read more
