After a long day spent sightseeing, we stopped by Ribeira's for dinner. Ribeira's is a popular spot that was recommended in my guide book. Upon walking up the stairs to reach the hostess stand, we waited about 20 minutes for a table for three on the patio. Indoor seating, where you get a great view of the city, was fully booked. I was a little bummed to miss out on dining inside but the weather on the patio was lovely.
I started off with the black Iberian sausage appetizer. This was my first time trying black sausage. The sausage itself is not black in color, it looks just like any other sausage. The animal is black. And the sausage does taste different than any I've ever had but it was delicious. A treat and 5/5.
For my entree, I had the steak sandwich with fries. The fries were nice and crispy and the steak was juicy and served on a baguette with mayo. 4/5. The only thing to complain about as far as the food was the sangria which was watered down.
Service was interesting, to say the least. They have a magician that stops by tables periodically and performs a magic trick for the table. Nice guy and we were entertained by his magic. This isn't' something I've ever seen at a restaurant but it's an awesome idea! Our server was good too. All-around, a nice meal. read more
