Coming from a person who has worked in Customer Service for many years. I have to say I've never…read morebeen treated so poorly. I recently purchased a boat, and was told I could take over the spot who previously owned the boat. Seemed to all go well, I went into the office paid for the month of September and gave them my bank information so the costs could come directly out of my account each month. Later starting the next day, I started getting calls from Toni in the front office, who was very rude, and aggressive to the point, I didn't feel comfortable even having a conversation with her. She was asking me questions, about my boyfriend who also had a slip in the marina. She accused him of breaking into my boat and living on my boat. She made insinuations that we had met at the marina and that he was taking advantage of me. Which was not true. The next day he went to the marina to pay for his slip, and then got on my boat because I asked him to get something for me, I had left behind, since he was going to be there that day. After charging me twice, and after I spent $120.00 filling up my boat with their gas, I was told to leave the Marina because I let someone on my boat. (who has a key) I was never given credit back for any of the money I spent. And then I had to find another marina and pay for September moorage again. They also said my boyfriend was kicked out of the Marina. No one called him, they expected me to tell him. He also did not get any of his money back. After taking $500.00 from us, they kicked us out the next day, and did not give us a credit for anything. And left me in a very stressful situation finding another place to moorage the boat. I called the Harbor Master hoping that they would work with me, at least letting me stay until the end of the month (since I already paid) but he stood behind his employee, and did not work with me. I understand things happen, and there was some misunderstanding in place. No rules were ever explained to me. I was nothing but polite and accommodating to the staff. There was no communicating to Toni, nothing I said would have helped. I felt bullied and scared to even say anything. This Marina is very unprofessional and, in the end, I'm glad that I'm no longer there, but wanted to tell my story and bad experience. Make sure you get things in writing from them. I hope this helps in anyone's search for a Marina

From the perspective of a local sport fisherman:…read more I do most of my Spring, Summer, and Fall salmon and steelhead fishing in the general area on the Columbia River, Lewis River, and the Multnomah Channel and this marina and store have come in handy several times. If you're running low on fuel, bait, tackle, snacks or beer because you didn't plan ahead this place can cover you. The gas is a bit spendy, but most marinas are. I've never used the boat launch or moored my boat there as I live in Washington and use those launches mostly. I hear you can buy an Oregon State fishing license there, but haven't done it myself.

Amazing day on the river! Let me start off by saying that this was my families first guided fishing…read moretrip and wasn't sure at all what to expect. The plan was to do Salmon fishing but we were told earlier in the day the reports weren't good and there wasn't much activity in the area we were going. We all discussed our expectations which was that there was no guarantee we would catch anything. Sad but true fishing is not guaranteed or it would be called "catching" instead according to a family member. We were told the following to be prepared: layer clothing as it was cold that day but could warm up, pack snacks/lunch as it's not provided, sunscreen may be needed, and a hat for some of us. Also, goes without saying to have license and fishing licenses. Some of these items should be obvious but others not so much. A friend suggested we bring tip money as well. We had no expectations having never been on a trip such as this. We headed out of the marina with excitement in hopes as all of us probably hope of landing a big fish. Initially the spot we hit up north trolling for Salmon was a bust. But, our guide Christian made a call to get a report on a spot that had hits on Sturgeon instead. He let us know he couldn't guarantee anything but sounds like it might be a good place if we were up for it. Of course, we said let's do it. At this point even without a bite, for someone who works too much it was already a great day on the water, and no motion sickness which was huge. We headed towards Goat Island and he dropped anchor, got the first pole in the water, and as he was getting the second one in there was a hit right away on the line. Having little experience with Sturgeon fishing Christian was a great teacher explaining how, when, and in what order to do things. The first Sturgeon my husband caught was 2-3' but huge smile on his face none the less. Not long after getting all the poles on another bite came on the line, and my daughter got a decent sized sturgeon on the line, and learned how tiring they can be to land. Christian got it on the boat for a photo and we released it back into the water. We all ended up catching several Sturgeons and I ended up catching a large one that was between 6-7' and estimated to weigh 150 lbs. This one we were all nervous to get on the boat but Christian managed it somehow. He advised in a laughing tone any other larger one's would not be on the boat. We ended the evening with all of us having caught multiple sturgeons, smiles on our face, excitement, and looking forward to the next excursion. Even me whose body doesn't do well on the water. I will absolutely suggest him to friends, family, colleagues, and strangers. All around amazing experience and still smiling days later. Coming in from the day I snapped a photo of our guide looking completely as home on the boat and my experience was he was just that. He gave us an amazing afternoon/evening.

However, we had the opportunity to catch and keep sturgeon only if it was between 44-50 inches; which occurs twice in a year. From beginning to start, Matt was super helpful with providing gear for me as it was my first time fishing. His boat was top of the line compared to the rest on the river that day. It had a hot water sink and very comfy chairs to sit in. He also had beers, waters on dec and had anti-nausea meds on board which was great for me since I was feeling sick. After 5 minutes, my boyfriend caught his first sturgeon that was 47 inches. And I caught one four hours later that was 45 inches. He allowed us to reel it in (which was a struggle for me, but worth it) and he took great photos after. We were the only 2 people that day to catch and keep our sturgeon. We couldn't have had a better experience and we got so lucky that day thanks to Matt! He ended up filet-ing our sturgeons and took 15 pounds of it home. It was the highlight of our trip to Portland. And we plan to come back in the spring once salmon season starts. If you're thinking about booking a trip with him, DO IT. You won't regret it!
