We signed up for Weedman service in 2025. There were some problems with the early services, so I called. The initial person I spoke with was somewhat rude and totally unhelpful. I asked to speak to a manager. I was told in no uncertain terms; the District and Regional Managers do not talk to customers. The owner does not talk to customers. If you have a problem their phone person is it, whether the issue is addressed or not. Strange way to run a business. I did some research and called the President of Weedman in Orono, Ontario and spoke to the CEO. I shared that her franchisees refused to speak to customers to deal with concerns. The next day I got phone calls. The Regional and District Managers visited my home. They were cordial and appeared knowledgeable. I understood future applications would be adjusted. This year I learned that Weedman would not be continuing our services. We are virtually "red flagged", I guess for contacting corporate and tattling on their customer service. The phone person that shared this said their Regional person would contact me. Of course, "crickets". Recall, they don't talk to customers. I prefer to do business with customer-oriented organizations versus those who's management isolates themselves from pesky customers. I have tried every lawn maintenance service in the area. Weed man is the only company who took the time to assess my problem areas and give me solutions. All the solutions will be done by me. There was absolutely no upselling of services. They provided an email with explanations and links to products that I could use. After they do service my lawn, they call me to make sure everything was done correctly and if I had any questions. I highly recommend. read more

Veridian told me I would be signed up for free services from WeedMan. Weed Man then gave me a bill, which I called to ask for an explanation for. They told me it was a mistake and to ignore the bill. It was easy enough to cancel, and I asked them to please don't do any services I will have to pay for. Months later, Weed Man then told me via email that they had scheduled me for two additional services that I would need to pay for, without any specified date for when those services would occur. They did not ask me for consent in advance to schedule for these services I would have to pay for. I was not able to cancel via email, had to call them again, and was told I couldn't cancel the final two in advance. I could only cancel by closing out my account completely. I could either forfeit my final free treatment and cancel today, or I could call in between my free treatment and paid treatment to cancel then, again without specifying an exact date for when those treatments would occur. Feels like they're just making it difficult for you to cancel so that most people end up forgetting and then end up being billed for services they never asked for. read more

Not at all recommended. "Promises Kept!" is their motto, I believe, and that's as big a lie as anything else their selling. By the way, after signing up I discovered we signed up with the Middleton office. We live in Milwaukee County, about 1.5 hours from Middleton, so I'm not sure why that office was scouting so far. When we signed up with WeedMan, I said I was reluctant because of issues with our previous lawn care company, TruGreen. I explained the issues we'd had with the WeedMan CSR. Our backyard is our home in the summer. We've DIY'd the heck out of it. We have perennials and shrubs, a vegetable garden, 1300+ gallon pond with waterfall and fish, wildlife up the wazoo....we care a LOT about what people are putting on and around our lawn. We were assured none of that bad stuff would happen with WeedMan. They care for your yard like it's their own! They always clean up upon leaving! They'll pick up dog poop if they see it! Ha! For the first visit, WeedMan texted (end of May 2017) saying they were coming. Late that day they texted saying, Oops, we'll be out tomorrow. No big deal. They didn't come or contact either of the following 2 days. The 4th day I texted them and said "What gives?" Somehow an hour later there was a guy at our house. The service guy left a minor mess of fertilizer on our brick patio that day. I found out about the mess they'd made then today while telling my husband I was cancelling the service (my husband cleaned it up last time.) I add we've had as much of a weed / clover / crab grass issue as years when we haven't had service, but I figured I'd give it a few applications before making judgement about that. Fast forward to Friday Jul 14, 2017. Second application, although our last service was about 7 weeks ago? The text stated it was "Early Summer Fertilization" time, and they were coming Monday (today). I think it's technically midsummer right now, but I said nothing. This morning they came before I woke up. At about 8:45 I was up and looked outside, and there's a chipmunk doing snow angels in a pile of white fertilizer granules on our brick patio. There was more fertilizer on the stone walk path to our vegetable garden. Somewhat irritated, I went out to take a photo, and as my son didn't realize what was going on, a moment later he came to see what I was doing and brought the dogs along. Both dogs proceeded to run through all the granules, on their way into the pesticide filled/fertilized grass. Note, normally after an application none of us would go outside for hours as instructed. So that was a fun extra issue this morning. So today included: Photograph patio, wash dogs' feet, sweep / clean patio and walkway, wash broom, hose down grass (as instructed in WeedMan email with invoice), email WeedMan (with photos), text husband (and later: call WeedMan and write Yelp review). But hey, why not? That's what I paid $54 for today, right? After my email to WeedMan this morning, I got a response email saying: "Call our office at (866) 987-9333 and speak with one of our Customer Service Representatives who will gladly help you out. We cannot accept account changes for any scheduled services by email." Super. So I call. The guy tells me how he's very sorry and they'll make today's service free of charge and will come back and be better in the future. I say no thank you, I'm cancelling. He says the same thing again - they'll credit today's $54 charge and will do it right next time (I don't remember his exact phrasing; I was getting pretty frustrated). I tell him I know it's his job to retain customers, but No Thank You. He tells me, well, they can't credit my account for today after all. I say that's pretty weird - you'll give me a freebie if I keep using a place that's now multiple times messed up with a new customer, as long as that customer keeps going with the company that's been messing up. At this point he's somewhat curt, says again they're charging me for today. Mind you, it never occurred to me before calling that I wouldn't be paying today. But now that he's dangling it in front of me, I'm getting ticked off. I ask if I'll get a statement stating I've cancelled? He says - I kid you not - "No, you'll just have my word that it's cancelled." Well that's wonderful. To me, if something as minor as cleaning up fertilizer isn't happening, what else is happening that shouldn't, or should be happening that isn't, when the lawn is being treated. We've now paid $130+ for two service calls totaling under 30 minutes ($80+ the first time, and $54 the second time.) For what? It's cost me hours of screwing around today, possibly harmed my dogs, we're out $130, and I've now lost faith in yet another local (somewhat local) company. read more

I would NOT recommend Weedman Lawn Care under any circumstances. I used to use them but left because of their shoddy quality. My neighbors continue to use them and this year Weedman came next door on the windiest day so far and the fertilizer was spread into my raised bed gardens. They also didn't tag any lawns in the neighborhood. Not one. I thought it was a legality that the lawns were to be tagged. I called and asked for the lawns to be tagged and nothing was done about it. My next step is to report them to the agency that regulates fertilizer use. Again, run from this company. I have had Weed Man for the past 4 years. They have performed good service. The issue I have is that I didn't want service this year so I didn't call them to renew. I was trying to save money because of Covid-19 and the uncertain future. Not only did they stop out on their own but they increased their pricing. I called them and they said I approved reoccurring service back in 2016. I replied that I didn't sign a contract. They said my voice was recorded with me agreeing with the reoccurring service. I know I didn't agree to that because I create contracts for a living and I know they are not legal in WI unless I approve. I would have never approved of that because of knowledge gained from my job. I asked for a copy or to listen to the recording and they said it was their policy not to share. This is not legal. All contracts are to be shared especially if it is a recording. They said they would see if they could pull a copy but they could not but they would offer a settlement. I agreed to the settlement and they cancelled my service. Beware signing up with them. In my opinion don't agree to a reoccurring service. There was a story about this type of service and customers were trying to cancel service and they were not allowed to. With Covid-19 businesses like this need to stop this type of practice. I've had Weed Man for a couple of years now. I'm very pleased with the job they do and the care and concern I've received. If I've had a problem they were quick to correct it. I've watched the applications be done unknowing to the worker. They do a complete job in my front and back yard. I live in my husband's house that he grew up in and after we were married I moved in. There was always care taken to have a beautiful yard. He is now passed and I want to continue keeping the lawn in the best possible condition in honor of him. It may sound silly but I am proud of the way the lawn looks and how it's taken care of. I have received many compliments on my yard and I give all the credit to Weed Man. Be careful. The business practice of Weed Man is to continue service the next year even if you do not want the service. It was explained to me after an application was done a week after my new service made its first application. I was charged $74 for something I did not want. When I complained, I was told they have continuous service and that it is written on the invoice and mailers. News to me. They did cut the charge in half and cancelled future service on the call. I had prepaid I the past, presuming this was my authorization for the next year's service. In the past, the service was fine. We switched due to cost. read more

Very surprised by the low reviews on here! We are a new customer of Weedman since the Spring, and our lawn looks better than it has in the 3 years we have lived in the house. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because we were notified we needed an emergency pest treatment, as grubs were found on our treeline. I responded to the technicians text about an hour after he sent it to me, so I was not surprised when he said they had already left the property. He did say, however, that they would swing back by later and apply the treatment as it was "very important and time-sensitive" in their words. Well, it took them about 3 weeks to come back and apply the treatment. In that time, I noticed no ill effects to my lawn, so I wonder if this $200+ service was really needed? Regardless of that issue, Weed Man is performing as expected. My lawn looks great and they keep to their schedule for normal fertilization. I will also say that I get far too many sales calls from their Madison office. I never answer, and they never leave messages, but I would say I get 1-2 calls a week from them. I understand it's a business, but in my opinion, there should not be so many solicitations when I am already paying a hefty price for the lawn treatment as is. read more

I've had nothing but good experiences with this company. Finally found them after going through a few other companies I was unsatisfied with. Been with them several years now. In fact...was with another place for 10 years and their service went south...they no longer seemed to care....they did not even attempt to keep a 10 year customer. The times I've had to contact their customer service (e.g. to reschedule, ask questions, etc.) their service has been awesome. Customer service has always been very pleasant, and I've never had to wait very long at all in the call queue. My recent customer service experience was with Jen and she was great. The field guys have been great too... very courteous...do a really nice job. They also show up when they are supposed to It seems their product works well too...my neighbors yards on each side are struggling and choked with weeds. Not mine. I never get any calls or pressure for upsells but I think I did ask early on... not to be called for sales purposes. I think their prices are reasonable too....especially if you add up what you'd spend on product if you did it yourself. read more

While I am satisfied with the appearance of my lawn (spring and fall fertilizer with weed maintenance in between), they try to up sell quite often. I initially only wanted fall and spring fertilizer, but they insisted on weed control too. I have in because we have a new lawn, so I plan to do it for one summer then drop the weed control. Each and every time I've had questions or concerns, Jacob has provided his undivided attention, driven out to discuss lawn situations and found answers to my questions. He's unbelievable knowledgeable and a true professional. Often times today, the customer service ball is dropped, but Jacob has exuded true customer care and has continued to push that down to his team. I appreciated their services while getting the new lawn established, but since asking to end their services, I have been harassed by frequent phone calls. This company is an absolute joke. First of all, they're so cocky to the point where they are literally more expensive than EVERYONE. TruGreen, NatureScape, SpringGreen, you name it! Weed Man is WAYYY more expensive. They claim it's because of the quality of their products, when really that's total garbage. Their heralded "granular fertilizer" is no different than the granular product that nearly every other lawn care company uses, for wayyy cheaper. If you ask them for a free re-application, they try to prevent that from happening in every way possible. They will just try to say they'll fix the issue on their next application. Not only are they twice as expensive and use the same products, but they also do a "double application" on their first visit, which turns out to be an outrageous amount of money in the first visit. Not only is a company like TruGreen twice as cheap, but they do everything (fertilizer, weed control, etc.) in a single visit for the same price. So, let's do the math: let's say an application for fertilizer and weed control with TruGreen costs $80. With Weed Man, you're looking at $100-$110. Ridiculous. Not to mention that they force a double-app (double charge) on the first visit. Ridiculous money-whoring scammers. They also force their sales reps to try and get positive Yelp reviews from their customers. What a joke of a company. Especially the Madison franchise. Andy Kurth is a greedy man. I AM DONE WITH THIS COMPANY. I am giving two star because some of my weeds were gone. Usually, I don't write review online and I think this company deserves one. First, my friend recommended me and she never got referral credit that's not a big deal. When, I first spoke with sales woman that was last year in the late fall season, she recommended me to buy package that will save me $$$ and told me even I can use one remaining application in the spring season next year. " Manager you can listen to my recorded call". All I know is there is four application and didn't request fertilization, but they said its part of the package they did all the service within 2 months which I think they could have wait for next year but they want my money next year so they rushed everything in two months. This company constantly calls our home and my personal cell phone looking for my husband. They CLAIM he signed something in April stating he wanted quotes for lawn care. There are several issues with this: 1) my husband does all of our yard care and would never trust anyone else to do it; 2) they claim they're following up on quotes we received, which we never did; 3) they are calling from Middleton, WI and we live over an hour from Middleton, in Oak Creek, WI; 4) the date they claim my husband supposedly signed something, we weren't even in the country! We are on the national DNC list and yet they claim they have a signed document which states they can call us in follow up to the quotes we received. We have repeatedly asked this company to stop calling and they do not. They will now be reported to the National DNC as a violator. read more

We had weedman come out twice...well 3 times (story to follow.) Our backyard was full of prickers. For the most part they are gone. I found their applications ok pickers pretty much gone but as for other weeds not really. The reason I write this review is because they came out a 3rd time without our permission and charged us for it! So FYI make sure you have a must make contact disclosure on your account. I also wanted to review because I wanted to say that although this mishap happened and we weren't all that thrilled with the end product (maybe we didn't do enough treatments) customer service was very understanding and I think her name was Ashley was amazing to work with I would have only given 1 star but her 5 stars made an average of 3. We have had the exact same issue with them with the none stop calling! We signed up for a Groupon for one treatment. I understand using Groupon to drum up some business, but once you say you are not interested in further treatments, that should be the end of the phone calls. You would think they'd get the point that by not answering the phone DAILY when I see them calling, that I'm not interested. It is nothing short of harassment. They are probably similar to credit card companies trying to get their money - maybe worse. If they think I'm going to sign up after this, they are insane. I am a new customer with Weed Man. I recently moved into a new house, and the weeds were definitely an issue in my lawn. My first application was fertilizer only, and the weeds would not be addressed until my next application. Needless to say, I have happy, well fed weeds. I called to express my concern, and they have agreed to move my next treatment up to take care of the weeds. Hopefully, once the weeds are under control, the lawn will be happy and healthy. Awful. Weedman damaged my yards health; got inconsistent (opposite) treatments from different workers with different ideas.. I had a nicely bioactive lawn going very nicely then one of the weedmen tells me I have grubs and to stop watering, but another tells me I need more water. Then they just started using pesticides (not cool) and now all the frogs I used to enjoy are gone. They dont even know what my lawn needs. This company makes big claims about how good they are. They are not inexpensive either. The fertilizers and application are really no better than the stuff you can put on yourself. However the weeding application people they have really cut corners. They eliminate most weeds in the center of a yard but the edges always get missed. Nobody walks in the center of the yard they walk along the edges or sidewalk...Hello! They claim on the phone that someone watches the workers. Sure they do! I've never seen that and if there people are that lazy that they need to be watched means they have the wrong people! This company is full of empty promises! I paid for a service of fertilizer and weed control. I called three times in May and they said they would complete the service by the end of the month. Well that didn't happen. Then when I called in June they said they would do it by the end of the week. Again, that didn't happen! I called the following week looking for a refund and they said they could do it in 3-4 days..... like I believe that based on the past four times I called!!! Funny they can't provide a service that was paid for but they can call me constantly to schedule MORE services and they even had someone come to our door to sell their services, even though we had already paid for services. This company is crap, I went another company. They are much more responsive, they came right away when they promised, and they are open on the weekends. I found out about Weed Man from a mailing. My colleague at work recommended them so I signed up. We had a terrible problem with just about every weed in this region and particularly creeping charlie. The WeedMan treatment took care of all of it. We also had a serious problem with Japanese beetles and their grub treatment knocked it down tremendously. I'm not sure about how they will do things next year but I plan on renewing...they did a great job on our lawn. read more
