I gave Weedman another chance this year after canceling last year because my lawn was overtaken by crabgrass, and the results have been just as bad. The burrweed in my front yard were never properly treated and are spread all over the front yard. Even after paying for a special crabgrass pre-emergent treatment, crabgrass is already coming back. Customer service promised a free follow-up application and said a technician would contact me, but 10 days later I still haven't received a single call. On December 12, 2025, I paid $172 for organic top dressing services. After the purchase, I waited every day for the service to be performed, but no technician ever arrived. I attempted to contact the company by phone daily and only reached a recording. The company does not answer calls and communicates only through text messages. Due to the complete lack of service and communication, I canceled all services and requested a refund for work that was never performed. I then received a text response stating that the services had already been completed. This statement is false. No organic topsoil was ever delivered or applied to my property. The company charged my account but failed to provide the services paid for. I am requesting a full refund of $172 for non-performance of services. read more

When you have one job, kill weeds, you wouldn't think it was that difficult. Especially when the yard being serviced could fit a postage stamp. However, you'd be mistaken. For the most part, Weed Man is responsive and will send someone out to talk to me when asked. I have a minimal amount of "grass" which seems to be a trend in the Upstate with this god forsaken soil. In light of that, I managed to maintain one area weed free, green, and growing for the past few years. Granted, the rest of the "grass" looks like crap, but I've come to accept that's just Spartanburg (we must of been the soil contamination hub of the south for 150 years or something - only thing that grows is weeds and crepe myrtles). I've had numerous "treatments" that I couldn't tell if anything at all was done. Weeds still abound and only way I even knew someone was there was the little yard sign. On a couple of occassions, got a bill but no yard sign. Hell, I couldn't tell any difference in treatment or not so just went with it. I got talked into an aeration and soil conditioner at the cure to all the ailments. As I said the amount of grass is "tiny". They knew that but showed up with an industrial aerator made for mega lawns, did about a 30" X 3' strip. Get a discount? Nope, full price. Full price for the soil treatment as well. Less than 5 days later they send out the tech for the scheduled treatment. Seemed a bit soon given the aeration and soil conditioner, but what pause your billing process right? This is where things really went south. The tech treats my yard and leaves the sign. Ok no worry. A few days later I notice I've got burned spots and a stripe going through the grass. Very evident it was the hose. It looked like crap. Awful and I didn't think it was possible to make it look any worse. I was so mad. Took pictures, texted and called. They sent out a manager. "Well Mr Rogers the tech had a leak in the hose. We had this happen with 5-6 yards. Hard to kill bermuda, it don't look dead just burnt up. It will grow back, might take 6-8 weeks." What? Now mine looks like crap, but a neighbor down the road just listed his $800k home about the same day Weed Man came out, and his is even worse, huge burns and stripes. The problems I have is #1 - I've done yard work my entire life, you know when you have a leak in a hose. This technician just simply didn't care. That's unacceptable. #2 - The resolution. There was none. I had to ask and was told, we'll give you a discount on the next treatment. A discount, really? Then I was forced to go cut made and that sent me into a complete tailspin. So fired off more texts. Resolution, another mangar and a free soil treatement. Really? How much product you want to put down? You don't reckon that was part of the problem? Ridiculous. Long of it, I won't be renewing my contract. In fact, after reading this they may decide to hell with me and stop servicing. Live and learn. Strike two on lawn maintenance providers in Spartanburg. BEWARE OF WEED MAN I hired weed man located at 700 Millers Run Road Cuddy Pa 15031. When I spoke to one of their employees Tuesday he wanted me to pay upfront for a the grub control service that I was suppose to have done Thursday10/24/2024. I didn't pay for the service upfront because I decided to wait until the service day to pay. I've had to relocate two racoons within two days and there was also a skunk that tore up my back yard and part of the front yard. I called weed man yesterday to find out when they were coming to treat my yard and was told that I was the first customer listed for Friday 10/25/2024, I asked her what time and was told around 10:00 am, so at about 10:30 I called weed man again and spoke to an employee and I was told that I was the last customer on the list and I wasn't given a specific time so most of the morning and afternoon I was looking for the weed man employees. I was checking my ring camera and looking out of my window, I did NOT see any trucks or vans of any sort parked anywhere on or near my property. I called weed man again at about 3:38 and spoke to the same employee that I spoke to earlier today and I told her that if they didn't get here before 6:00 today, to come tomorrow. She told me that they were at my house at 2:00 and I told her that nobody was at my house, I was checking all morning and afternoon, Then she told me that they were here around 1:00 and left around 2:09,They were NOT here and I was clearly cheated out of $185.51 and lied to. I will take this matter further because I don't cheat people and I surely don't like to be cheated. read more

They burned my yard with fertilizer and then told me it was a disease only to charge me for a disease treatment that never worked TruGreen told me that the yard was burned and saw granular fertilizer in that area. I hired Weed Man as a recommendation from a friend roughly 2 years ago and my yard has only gotten worse. I stuck with them as Weed Man management said they needed a year to get the yard healthy again. Two years later, here is what they have made my yard look like after the last application. On top of the damage to the lawn, they broke sprinkler heads (visible). Now have received a quote that it will cost $1200-$1400 to fix the damage. read more

THEY NEVER STOP CALLING, EVEN AFTER ASKING TO BE REMOVED FROM THEIR CALL LIST AT LEAST 10 TIMES. I contacted them back in 2011 when I was looking for lawn treatment, but their prices were considerably higher than the others, so I decided on someone else. They started calling a couple months later. I told them I chose someone else. They called again a few months later and I told them I was happy with my current service, and please removed me from their call list. And despite that, I still receive calls from them EVERY 6-12 MONTHS. I've asked them every time to please remove me from their database, and they say they will... and then they call again and again. It feels like harassment at this point. I've blocked every number they call from, and they continue to call from different ones. I'm so irritated with this company! read more

But this time really was beyond for this 7 years not once did we use any other service but treating the weeds in our yard this time they decided to do airation and charge us $700 without our permission, service was fine in correctly the ground was dry and hard he should have stoped right there but no he continued, sprinkle system was not mark and one of the sprinkle heads was broken. I was told you still going to pay because we notify you by txt and email that we are going to do this service. If we didn't ORDER this service I don't need notifications about it period. We were semi pleased with this company when we started service 4 years ago. We even paid for tree and shrub care. They charged us $54.00 for each service Everytime they came. (Figure that out a year!) The lawn service really went downhill but we stuck with them because we are loyal and our trees and shrubs looked good. We suddenly got a letter telling us that they were discontinuing their tree and shrub service. Within one week many of our trees as well as our prized Camilla has gotten sick. They were just here right before the service was discontinued. We really believe they were sprayed with something that was not for trees and they know it and are getting out of the business before they were caught. This will probably be brought to court. Costly experience! Weed man came to do treatment for weeds. They had been repeatedly instructed not to spray weed killer on certain stone patio and walkway areas, as in between the flagstones were planted with stepables (a ground cover type plant that blooms abundantly and accents the flagstone patio). They sprayed and killed over 100 plants- claimed they were not responsible and someone else had done it! The Supervisor said he believed his employee over me. Do not use this company! They go door to door and solicit late at night. Our porch light was off, baby was sleeping, and we were eating dinner. The guy offered to give us a quote and it was pitch black out. Last year they caught my dog sitter at my house and would not stop badgering me to sign up. They need to find better ways of getting new sales. We just moved here from Charleston this summer and our service there highly recommended Weed Man. They came out and walked with us to discuss the lawn and our options. The one thing that was refreshing was the fact they did not pressure us to sign up with them. They also let us decide what kind of lawn we wanted and how important it was that we do our part in the watering of our lawn. The techs that came out were so knowledgable and shared that info with us. They were on time and also texted us ahead of the appointment to remind us so we could have the pets put up and the back yard accessible. I've used Weed Man for a few years and have been satisfied. Dustin was the technician for a couple of years when I started the service and he was great and very knowledgeable!! He has now moved up in the company and I'm happy for him although I miss him. Since that time technicians have come and gone and I didn't feel like I was getting the same personal service as before. I like to have the same technician each visit because he becomes familiar with my lawn. If there is a problem they will send out a specialist and also schedule a retreatment at no charge if necessary. The company realizes the personnel problems encountered in the past year or two and they are now beginning to get back on track. I'm given advance notice about when they are scheduled to treat and I appreciate that since I like to be home in case I have questions. I've received a lot of compliments on my lawn so something is working. Prices are competitive with other weed control companies in the area and Weed Man is very responsive. read more

I "contracted" with Weed Man of Greenville last March 2019 and requested that they do the 8 treatments on my front and back lawn. The back lawn is much bigger than the front lawn and both were in sketchy shape. I went through the entire year thinking they were treating both. In fact, I asked them to retreat the back yard several times because weeds were not dying and they said "no problem". Never did they tell me they weren't treating the back yard. I just paid for another year and the first treatment my sister happened to be at my house and was told they only treat the front yard. While they did the treatment I have now canceled my "contract". I feel that they misrepresented what they were doing and they don't have "written contracts" to state specifically what they are treating, it's all done verbally, which should have been a red flag to me. While the people in the office have been nice, it's surprising to me that they couldn't have worked something out with me to keep me a happy customer. My yard is already under contract with another company. Their sign was in my yard saying they were treating the lawn. The house they were suppose to treat was two doors down. I had them for a year and caught the tech leave the bill then drive away without spraying the lawn. I dropped them but they kept badgering me to come back, the tech supposedly no longer worked for them. So I gave them another shot. They put weed killer down and the weeds flourished. I called and complained so they sent out another tech who was just spraying where the weeds were then he pulled them up, never seen that before. Then he left without spraying the front lawn, supposedly had fertilizer mixed in with the weed killer so the front and side didn't get any spraying. Finally someone at the company actually reached out to me and expressed concern about my displeasure with their service. If only someone had done this sooner, they may have been able to save me as a customer. It appears that Dave is preaching the right things to his employees about customer service, it just isn't sinking in.I've upgraded my review from a 1 to a 2, I would give it a 2.5 if I could. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This entire company has a problem with customer service, from the technicians that come to your home all the way to management. Here are some issues I've had: -They did aeration and overseeding on a part of my property with no grass, and now there's unwanted grass there. They couldn't even take a minute to ring my doorbell before they got started so I didn't get a chance to go over what I wanted and didn't want done. -One day I'm in the middle of blowing the leaves out of my shrub and flower beds and onto my lawn, which I then mulch and bag with my mower. The technician shows up, unannounced, and insists he has to blow the leaves off my lawn so he can put down an application. Complete disregard that he is interfering and undoing the work I'm in the middel of. He made no offer to come back later or wait for me to finish, so I reluctantly agree. I decide I'll mow the back yard while he is blowing the front. I'm mowing for about a minute when I notice the technician is now blowing the leaves off my back yard in the shrub and flower beds. My back yard is about 20' x 30', so the technician couldn't wait 5 minutes for me to finish. I'm appalled at this point and go inside and call the Weed Man office. The woman who answers says the whole thing is my fault because I should have told the technician he couldn't do it then. I respond that proper customer service would be for the technician to recognize I was in the midst of working on my yard and he should have offered to come back later, especially since he came unannounced. She didn't budge, so I told her I was done with their service going forward and hang up. I wasn't sure I was clear about the cancellation so I called her back to confirm my service was cancelled. After the technician leaves I proceed to blow the leaves back onto the grass and pick them up with the mower. As I'm emptying the bag I notice it's full of the fertilizer they put down. I call the office again and explain what's happened, telling the woman they either need to come back and re-apply the treatment or I'm not paying the bill. She's says she will talk to the manager and get back to me. I never get a call back, but I do get a bill in the mail. I exchange several emails with John - apparently the manager - and he too thinks there was nothing wrong with the way I was treated by the technician, so obviously the problems with their customer service orginate from the top. I still get a bill every couple weeks even though I have sent several emails to John saying I'm not paying for something I didn't receive. Now I'm even getting a message with those bills saying my future lawn treatments are on hold until I pay the bill, even though I cancelled my service with them months ago. The bottom line is the technicians are more concerned with finishing their daily route than they are with customer service and until the management changes I don't see it getting any better. read more

I was a customer for a few months and have been very disappointed in the quality of service and customer service. I did give 2 stars for a couple of the customer service representatives that were nice. After assuring me that I could cancel my contract at any time and also stop direct draft payments at anytime without penalty. I found this to be not true. I was also assured that I would get my services every 6 to 8 weeks and free maintenance in between those appointments. I also found this to be untrue. Weedman will charge your card for additional charges that were not authorized. After a lengthy phone call, I was reimbursed at that . However, I selected the fire ant control and the weed control. I am still seeing fire ants and weeds in my yard. I previously called to put my account on hold until August due to a new dog that was adopted wrecking havoc on my back yard. I was told they could put my account on hold and I was assured that I would not have any other charges to my account. Of course that was untrue. I received another charge following this call. Weedman would not reimburse my money and in fact told me that I owed them and additional $22 to cancel my account. Unbelievable. I do not recommend this company. read more

We have used Weedman for over a year and it never fails that when they call ahead for us to put our dog up, they never show the next day. Matter of fact, it typically takes another couple of weeks before they decide to show up. The last time this happened, I asked if indeed he was actually going to show up and he said yes. Well, the next day came and he never showed or called. So, I called the number back with no answer and left a message that I was firing them and would appreciate that someone call back to confirm. I haven't heard a word from them. While their service seemed to get rid of most weeds, and create a nice green grass.. we still have some weeds on the sides of the house. Our neighbors use them too, so seems like they are just not spraying in some areas, as they have missed it when doing ours and theirs. Regardless, I don't like being told one thing and then the employee not following up or even calling to say they need to reschedule. read more
