I couldn't be happier with my decision to enroll him in The Goddard School. The Goddard School is a modern preschool with all of the bells and whistles--cutting-edge curriculum, dynamic educators, state-of-the-art security-- with a huge heart. That's a key differentiator here...heart. It's what was sorely lacking at the other preschool my son attended. The owner, director, and support staff truly care about each and every child. When I drop my son off every morning, he can't wait to get to his classroom to play with the interactive toys, explore the sensory tables, and read in the cozy book nooks (he loves bringing in books from home to share with his class; this school does a beautiful job of promoting a lifetime love of reading). The outdoor play area is always a hit...as is pizza day (the school orders pizza for the kids on Thursdays and he loves it!). The facility is clean and inviting. I know my son has support, guidance, and materials he needs to thrive in Kindergarten at The Goddard School, but that's not all. He's welcomed with open arms; he's challenged academically; he's encouraged to believe in himself; he's well cared for; he's celebrated for his successes. He smiles widely when I ask him about his day...and I am often surprised when he tells me the Spanish word for something out of nowhere, or shows me a new yoga pose. The food is prepared in house as opposed to other daycares who give frozen foods. I was assured my toddler will be getting fresh food with variety and she will be exposed to lot of cuisines. Activity wise also they teach them lot of things and i was surprised to see my toddler's vocabulary had suddenly increased and she could count, tell colors apart and alphabets.. With both of us having 10+ hour work days including our commutes, it truly gives us a peace of mind knowing that our daughter is in good hands. But KinderCare has proved worth it. KinderCare was the sixth place I toured when trying to find a place that could take all three kids, but most importantly a single place that I felt could care for my infant as well as two toddlers. Walking around with Sarah, the center director, I was struck by how she knew every kid in every room, and they knew her. There's a tremendous warmth to this place and that starts with Sarah and her amazing staff who all enjoy children. KinderCare does not have the technology that most places have that show to-the-minute updates on when your kid eats, sleeps, etc. My personal opinion is that those features are really just a crutch for daycares that perhaps place more value on "checking in" on the app than connecting with my kids. At KinderCare, I know that my kids are *seen.* They're not boxes on an app that need to be checked. We call daily to see how our kids are doing, and always appreciate how patient and accommodating Sarah and the team are in sharing those updates. The wonderful teachers hug our children, they support them, help them through hard days, and celebrate their accomplishments. The biggest endorsement for this place came from my 4 y/o. Maybe week three of their being in daycare, I go to pick up the kids. Upon seeing me, my daughter says, "Mom, why are you here?!" I figured she may want to go home after nine hours, but not so when she's enjoying her friends and teachers. Such a good feeling! At that time when she started, she was 4.5 months old. I was scared at first due to COVID, but quickly noticed that they were taking great precautions. I felt safe knowing she was in good hands. Since January, I am truly impressed with the outstanding care she is receiving from Miss Lorie and Miss Angela. The teachers keep me up to date with how she is doing developmentally all the time. I introduced the sippy cup recently, and the teachers were very happy to continue to help her practice using it while at school. They figured out a nap and feeding schedule that I can adhere to on the weekends. Everyone has been very responsive to my questions, and get back to me in a timely manner. My daughter comes home clean every day. I am very impressed that everyone knows my husband and I by name. I see how everyone interacts with my daughter and it warms my heart. I feel comfortable leaving her here knowing she is going to be well cared for. Not to mention, they still do a lot of activities with families after school despite COVID. Right near Valentines's Day, they had a Sweetheart Dance that we attended on Zoom. It was so nice to see families dancing, singing, and listening to stories. Due to the teachers creating a fun but educational environment my 5 year old is more then ready to begin kindergarten. She can count to 100 with very little assistance, she can do simple math, she knows the sounds to all of the letters in the alphabet, she can read some of the sight words.
