Yes, that is very early, so early in fact that we were told we would most definitely be "good to go" and to not worry about securing placement as we were well ahead of any waitlist. Nonetheless, we asked to be put on a list and were told that we would be. My wife followed up with an email about 7 months before the start-date, which received no response. Now, about 5 months before the start-date, she called and was told that there is no space available, and that this has happened to multiple families as the person responsible for this "waitlist" is now on leave and had simply "forgotten" to include those who were inquiring early, and instead booked newcomers ahead of at least 8 families (their quote!) who are now without a daycare spot they had been told they would receive. This is not a restaurant, mechanic, pet care provider, etc. There is absolutely no excuse for carelessness in this regard when families are as reliant as they are for a service like daycare and all the scheduling and pressure that come with it. I don't wish to blame the entire business, but frankly, hearing that at least 8 families are now left to scramble for a different daycare, I am fairly shocked that whoever is in charge of scheduling was allowed to handle this type of work. The failure to SIMPLY make a basic priority list and follow up with those folks is actually astonishing. It is 2024, and literally anybody in the workplace can take two minutes of time to *open a word/excel document and make a numbered list.* When it comes to where you place your small children, I think this kind of carelessness really is just a horrible look. If you are lucky enough to get in, I genuinely hope for your sake that they are more organized with current customers.

If you are looking for a nature-based, whole brain / body learning experience for your child, I…read morehighly recommend Fitz! My husband and I were looking for a nature-based preschool for our son in Central Mass. A friend recommended Fitz and we fell in love with the program. The school has before care, after care, summer camp and holiday programs. It's our one-stop support system since we came from out of state. The property backs up to a nature reserve, and the kids spend hours outside learning and playing. The class ratios are small, and the different age levels interact with one another. My son loves having an older reading buddy and playing with older and younger kids. I love that my child is getting fresh air, sunshine, and learning through play. One of my favorite parts of the school is the support we got as parents. The owner of the school is an experienced child education consultant. She regularly hosts parenting classes and community events. My child is strong willed and stubborn, and the school taught me how to work with his personality so that everyone in our family is happy and harmonious. One of the core values of Fitz is preserving childhood. In this day and age of stress and sensory overload, I'm so glad there's a place my child can go where he gets to learn and just be a kid. Developing curiosity, relationships, and critical thinking are some of the positive traits we've watched our child develop at Fitz. The only "negative" I can think of is that once you experience this education model it's hard to go back. Once we learned that most of the public schools have 15 minutes outside per day, we re-enrolled for kindergarten. The school currently runs to grade 5. I'm so glad we found it.

From the very beginning, the team at eBridge Montessori made us feel welcomed and supported -- even conducting a virtual tour and handling the admissions process remotely while we were still preparing for the move. That flexibility and care really stood out to us. Now that Kai is attending, we can truly see the difference eBridge is making. He's become so much more independent, confident, and socially engaged -- and he absolutely adores his teachers and classmates. The teachers are incredibly nurturing and seem to intuitively understand what each child needs to thrive. We also love how they involve us as parents, offering guidance and resources to help us bring Montessori principles into our home as well. It feels like we're learning and growing right alongside him. eBridge has already helped us feel like part of a real community here. They are living their mission of being a "bridge" -- not just between children and learning, but between schools and families. We were even able to start Kai with half days during his transition, which we greatly appreciated, and he'll be moving to full days in January. And we're already planning for our younger daughter, Vera, to join when she's ready! We couldn't be happier or more grateful. If you're looking for a warm, thoughtful, and truly child-centered school -- eBridge is right for you!

Three separate times they called to say my son had a fever and I would pick him up and take him to the doctor and the doctor would tell me he didn't have a fever. When I brought my concerns to the school I was dismissed saying they have a state of the art thermometer and that it was accurate. Another time we picked him up and brought him home and changed him and found three ticks on him, one of which was attached to his foot. Again, I informed the school and they told me that they haven't had a tick on a child in years and that they treat the play area regularly. Why try to justify or defend yourself in this situation? He was at daycare all day and we came straight home and found the ticks. Where else could they have come from? All a parent wants to hear is that you understand the concern and you will address it. This place is more concerned with gaslighting you to protect themselves than actually taking concerns regarding the safety of children in their care seriously. Their illness policy makes absolutely no sense. My son was not allowed to come to school because he had an ear infection which is not contagious yet when I called to tell them he had pinkeye, they said he was fine to come in as long as he didn't rub his eye. He had just turned two at the time and there's no way a barely two year old isn't going to rub his eye. I was disgusted at the thought of children being allowed in a classroom together with something highly contagious like pinkeye. Also, my son was at the age to transition from day care to preschool and I reached out several times about the process for moving to preschool and for more information about the program. No one responded to my inquiries via email and I never saw administration there after 4pm when I came for pick up. One day while I was at work, out of the blue, I received a message via the school's app, which they typically used for communicating quick information like event reminders, saying that because my 2 year old son doesn't make eye contact and can't sit still during activities, they would not allow him to move to preschool or stay in his current day care program at Skribbles and told me his last day would be August 25th giving me little notice before he would be unenrolled leaving me scrambling to find a new childcare facility. This should have been an in person conversation, not an emotionally disruptive instant message in the middle of my work day. I also had an issue with a teacher who felt it was appropriate to make a comment about my son, who is autistic, saying: "It's too bad you didn't name him Dennis so we could call him Dennis the Menace." If you're not trained or equipped to support a child with special needs then maybe you should have a serious conversation about your concerns with the parents. I consistently communicated with the school about his developmental delays and how to best support him. Every day I would pick him up and his teachers would tell me he had a great day and how impressed they were with his progress. No concerns were ever expressed to me about their ability to handle my sons needs. There's so much more I could say about the terrible experience my family had with this place. At a certain point I just stopped bringing any concerns to the administration because I was constantly gaslit and it was clear they didn't want to take ownership of anything. We've found a much better environment elsewhere and now my son actually gets excited to go to school instead of crying every drop off like he did with Skribbles. After starting at his new school, I've meet a number of people who had less than pleasant things to say about Skribbles. This establishment needs to learn some empathy and compassion and needs a serious lesson is communication.

It was bittersweet to say goodbye because the staff really became like family. I cannot say enough positive things about Jen Morse, the Center's Director, and her entire leadership team, the teachers, assistants, chef, etc. It was clear from the first day I visited when I was evaluating schools before having my son, that everyone truly cares for each child, enjoys their work and have great respect for each other. The majority of the staff that were there the day we joined the NGCC family are still there today, and that says everything. I was very impressed with the diverse curriculum and the attention they give each child. NGCC having an onsite kitchen and chef that prepares healthy, kid friendly meals for the students was a life saver for this working mom because I didn't have to spend the time packing up meals each night. Instead, I was able to spend that time with my family which was invaluable. Since they have been there within a month they not only can hold a pencil right but write letters (and enjoy doing so)!! They love going to this school. They especially love the science lab (we do too) and the indoor playground/gym. Unlike their previous school, this school doesn't keep the kids outside when it's too cold (30 is the cutoff) and when it is too cold or rainy they still get to spend their energy in a warm setting in their indoor playground which is the equivalent of those indoor playgrounds with safe and fun climbing structures. Another positive about this school is that the directors And teachers listen when you have a concern and make Sure it's addressed. Oh and meals are included although I tend to send my twins in with extra food because they are going through a growth spurt and are picky eaters. But the second she transitioned into the toddler room, everything fell apart. She came home with undocumented bite marks -- yes, bite marks that no one noticed or cared to report. She was sent home in soiled diapers almost every single day. The staff used the wrong diapers, wrong wipes, and even applied diaper rash cream when I had specifically instructed them to use coconut oil. That was never authorized. It felt like my directions as a parent were ignored. The turnover is out of control -- teachers come and go constantly because they are clearly underpaid and unsupported. The director changes so often that there is no leadership or accountability. The classrooms are dirty, the toys are old, and kids are always sick because the place is not properly cleaned. And if that wasn't enough, their billing practices are a complete disaster. Despite my child being on a voucher, they suddenly decided I owed them $4,000 because they didn't process payments correctly for months. Then they had the nerve to demand I pay it all at once, as if their incompetence was somehow my fault. At the end of the day, I pulled my daughter out because I could no longer trust them to keep her safe, clean, or cared for. I put her in an at-home daycare and the difference is night and day -- she is calmer, happier, and thriving. Guidepost Montessori in Marlborough is nothing more than a glorified, overpriced daycare that fails children and families. They are disorganized, careless, and completely unprofessional. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the heartache -- your child deserves so much better.
