my 5 yr old daughter was referred to wee care for a cavity in her tooth. The first visit we went to she had an extremely difficult time with the x-rays due to a gag reflex which i had warned them about since i also have a difficult time with it. They proceeded to try to get the x-ray by shoving the gadget in her mouth as far into her cheek and the attempts continued to fail. Finally they stopped and said they would try the alternate x-ray which is the panoramic from outside her face. This was also not something she enjoyed but was able to manage the process. Moving forward to 8/25 when she had her appointment scheduled for fillings. She needed to be put to sleep so that they would be able to get access to the tooth that needed to be filled. The gas was administered using a mask that covered both her nose and mouth and the mask was held there by the male anesthesiologist while the nurses held her in place. she screamed and cried and squirmed and begged them to stop and they wouldnt they in fact didnt stop until about the 5th time i asked. Reading the website they talk about sedative dentistry and kid friendly and fun. They pride themselves on the options of sedatives they have like the nose mask or the drink they offer but with us they did not offer any of those suggestions and when they stopped they informed us that her only other option would be to have the procedure done in the OR of a hospital 3 months from now speaking to us like the fact that it was going to be a while was going to be the deciding factor. I would absolutely not recommend taking a child to this location they claim they are kid friendly and fun. They did not have anything on the TV's to distract the child, when she asked about the tv the nurse told her she didnt have the remote. They did not attempt to make the child feel comfortable in the office before administering the gas to put her to sleep. I personally would prefer my child wait a few more months to have the procedure done over being treated the way she was and the fear that she felt. She was scared and they could see it and they did not do anything to let her know she was ok. She saw a large man holding a mask over her face being held down by people she didnt know. That is scary for any child. This place is not friendly and no body should bring their children here. read more
