When I originally reviewed Evergreen I gave them 5 stars because they went out of their way to help me feel comfortable and at ease despite significant dental anxiety. However, I'm back, after lots of experience with them, to say you should beware. I had 12 teeth pulled and replaced by a set of partial dentures. Evergreen assured me they'd work with me every step of the way as I waited for my permanent dentures and wore temp "flippers: int he meantime. It was a long process because you need to wait months for the swelling to go down in your mouth to be properly fitted. For whatever reason, each set of permanent dentures they tried to fit me for did not fit, and there were several. The first two top sets wouldn't even click in because they had an extra tooth on them, and the first bottom set had to be replaced because they were so wide they were making it so I couldn't bite into anything without excruciating pain. The next top set came in and created a situation where my front teeth were so buck the dental assistant said herself they did not meet the standards of their office. The next set came in and though they clicked in they too were crooked enough that they were causing significant pain on one side of my mouth and the line between the two front teeth was lopsided because of how crooked they were. When I came back in to have them address the problem the doctor out of nowhere told me I needed to go somewhere else, after the turn of the year had reset my deductible, because we "obviously don't have a good relationship." I was incredulous! I had started this process almost a full year before and consistently come back to them because she kept assuring me they'd eventually get it right, continually thanking me for my patience. I was always super gracious and kind while in the office, and felt completely confused because up until that point I'd been repeatedly told to communicate with them if there were problems, and so I did. And this wasn't like I was just being ridiculous about it - when the bottom set didn't fit and they replaced them with a set that did, I didn't complain about them again. I was only complaining about the tops because they weren't fitting. Anyway, at that point I told them in order to get a set that actually fit I'd need them to refund my money for this set that was visibly not a fit. They told me if I wanted a refund I'd need to leave the ill-fitting set with them before leaving, despite me telling them I did not have my temp set with me. They then proceeded to refuse to refund the entirety of my money stating that they needed to work with my insurance company for half of it. As it turned out the reason that occurred is because they'd charged me out of pocket for my bottom dentures and charged my insurance for my tops even though I hadn't actually received them yet because they didn't fit. It was fraudulent and they forced me to walk out of their office with no top teeth in. They humiliated me and treated me like garbage because they couldn't seem to offer a set of teeth that fit. It took me well more than a MONTH to get the remainder of my refund (over $1,000) from them.
And now, some time later, I've come into a situation where I've not yet reestablished dental care with another provider due to financial constraints and I called Evergreen because I'm having a dental emergency caused by eating with the temp "flipper" plate because it's still all I have, and because they were my last dentist, and the office manager gave some advice last week and told me to call back if it didn't work. It didn't work, so I called back. She tells me they can't see me, despite having told me to call back, and when I ask if she has any medical advice then since most dentists aren't taking new patients right now due to covid she said, "yea, get routine dental care."
This place has zero class consciousness and you can't believe them when they tell you they want to know if you have any issues. They acted like it was my fault they kept giving me dentures that didn't fit. They clearly don't stand behind their work, so beware. They tried multiple sets of dentures on me. One of them had an extra tooth, one of them was so buck the hygienist even mentioned it and instructed me to not accept them, and one of them was just off in size enough that I couldn't eat while wearing it, and it was causing severe migraines. These are all legit reasons to ask them to continue trying. After a lifetime of poverty and inability to get adequate dental care, the last thing I expected to hear a dentist do was shame me for my inability to access care. Evergreen should be ashamed. I did not deserve the way they treated me and I'm still dealing with the fallout. read more
