Four stars - three for that cat that I don't actually believe is real. No cat can be that stoic. 1 star for the selection. A little bit of everything. No stars for the staff. They were a lot less personable than the cat at that says something. Go there but don't talk to the staff - you'd get more love from that crazy cat. I will always come here because it's a part of my childhood. But I don't usually buy the books. Mostly I come for the cat.

I randomly come into this store. A few times I've bought their discounted books when they have their outdoor book sales during the Fringe Festival. Their prices are a lot cheaper compared to buying brand new and their books are in good condition. A lot of current and popular bestsellers can be found here. You might be able to find the same book for less at Value Village or Goodwill, but finding a particular book requires some luck, at any of these stores. But with patience and perseverance, you can and will find a deal, if you're willing to wait for it. Overall, I find there's a wide selection of books from a variety of genres here. The store is clean and well organized into genres. There are some pretty unique books available. It's definitely worth coming in to see what you might like to read.

There are a few locations of the Wee Book Inn, I believe this one is the biggest and it does have a great selection of used books. It's a very chilled out place and nice to wander around and look at all the different books they have on display. It's open pretty late so if you are out for a walk or to grab a coffee it's a nice spot to pop in for a heat (in winter) and browse. The music is usually great and it makes you want to stay for hours - not to mention the cat! Each location has their own resident cat and the one on Whyte is so gorgeous! We've bought and sold books here. They are picky about which ones they buy which is a good thing! They won't take any that are in real bad condition. My husband usually looks for different science fiction book series to try out and this place has a LOT to choose from. They also sell records too.

This great little used book store on Whyte seems to stay open till midnight most nights so it's a nice place to stop on your way home after dinner or drinks. The friendly bookstore cat Fleur will likely be found wandering the aisles or snoozing on a pile of books. She doesn't seem too eager to be petted by strangers but isn't disturbed by admiration from a respectable distance. The store is on two floors and is well organized by category, and I am rarely able to leave without picking up something. They have a particularly good selection of older/classic SF&F that can be hard to find for sale new now.

I wish I lived closer to Whyte, because I would literally be in Wee Book Inn every weekend. I could spend hours in a book store -- and this one is no exception. The store is very well laid out. It is really easy to find a book you are looking for. They also have a great selection. This store is filled to the brim, and you can find some very unique books here. When my sister and I were here today, we found a book that had pictures and a bio of Vanity Fair photo shoots. It was pretty cool. They also have a selection of Vinyl records and magazines. We even found a Playboy from 1973! I thought that was pretty funny. This bookstore is the home of a very, very cute cat. I posted a picture of him (or her?) just to show how cute she (he?) is. It is clear that at one point the cat was homeless, because I am pretty sure that he (she?) is missing half of her (his?) nose. The prices here are amazing. I found a book for $0.50, but stuff can get expensive if it is a collector item or it is rare. (I also found a dictionary here for $566). I would recommend this book store to any book lover, but chances are, if you are a true book worm, you already know about Wee Book Inn, and you have already been there!

They have some parking in the back.

Best of the locations. Great selection and having two floors really adds to the feel. Love to come down here and look around. My wife and I came here while we were dating. We both chose books independently and then shared what we found with each other as a way to learn more about one another. Coincidentally we both chose Moby Dick. We still have that copy from the Wee Book Inn all these years later. Check it out. Make some memories.

The famous Wee Book Inn feline. She/he was asleep so I didn't want to wake him, though the urge to snuggle was overwhelming.

We came for the "garage sale", stayed for the cat! Boyfriend and I were garage saling and I was on the hunt for some deals in our neighbourhood, which got me thinking about how expensive a good hardcover book can be nowadays, which then got me thinking about how I've never been to my moms favourite spot-The Wee Book Inn. And let me tell you, it is a bookworm's paradise. Two stories, filled with books and DVD's and comics. Bf and I went to the back as they were hosting said sale. We picked up five book for under $20. Three of which were hardcovers, so gently used that they seemed brand new! I cannot wait to dive into those pages. Will definitely return.

If you're like me and you like vintage books and hunting for these types of goodies you'll really like Alhambra. You can find all sorts of cool stuff here that you never even knew you were looking for. The staff are very kind and helpful as well! If you need help finding something they're always eager to help. I like it here because there's a lot to look at and there's a lot of gems tucked away in the shelves. If you're looking for a cool gift or something to add to your collection you can almost always find something here. A big chunk of my vintage medical collection I've found from here. There's a lot of interesting history and there's books on pretty much any topic. Woodworking book from 1953? Check. Massive book about garden herbs? Check. Vintage 60's textbook on experimental psychology? Check. Midwifery manual from 1940? Check. If you're in the area, stick your head in and wander around. Prices vary depending on what you're looking at, but usually you get good deals on your finds. Books are super cool, and so is Alhambra.

After phoning around, I thought I might try phoning Coles in Downtown Edmonton to see if they had it. I had nothing to lose at this point. The lady I spoke to on the phone was very confident and engaging. She mentioned that her store had 2 copies of the book I was looking for. She put both copies on hold, as they had different cover art, so I could choose. The next day I visited the store to pick up the book. The store was easy to find in the mall, and was fairly busy. The staff were plentiful and they looked like they were having a good time. To say the least, it was worth the visit downtown to get this particular book. If there is any area for improvement, it would have been nice to have a plastic bag instead of a paper one as I had to walk a fair distance out of the mall. Otherwise, I had a great shopping experience. I would come back again. If you are having a difficult time finding a particular book, phone here or another Indigo store near you.

If you need something quick to read like a magazine or a popular book title, I would recommend this place. They do have a decent selection, just nothing comparable to Chapters. It is extremely convenient to pick something up for downtown professionals. Otherwise, there is not much in this store that would attract me to this location. The staff here were quite friendly, and gave me some good recommendations on fantasy/sci fi books to read from their current selection, which I found quite helpful. I often find myself amazed that Coles is still in business whenever I pass by this location, but there must be a steady stream of customers to support this business through.

There are a lot of things to see and be tempted to buy. In general there are a lot delicate and breakable items in this store. If you bring young kids in here, or even accident prone adults, I would advise being extra careful. I find there is enough space to maneuver around items. At the front of the store they've got some pretty cute items for fairy gardens. They have quite a selection of miniature figurines such as fairies or miniature gnomes. Where the cashiers are at the front, there are different colours and kinds of mala necklaces, under a display case. They also have a wide selection of Buddha figurines as well as other religious deities throughout the store. The have different sizes of figurines too. One wall has various dream catchers on display. The far side of the store has an impressive selection of different kinds of incense, incense holders, candles and essential oils. They also have various Himalayan salt lamps. A large portion, I'd say about half of the store is full of New Age types of books and CDs. But in between and on top of the shelves there are more items to see. At the very back they have a wonderful display of various gem stones, crystals and beautiful jewelry. This is my favourite part of the store. You can learn a lot about what the stones mean. Overall, I think this is an awesome store to check out! There's a lot to see and lots of tempting things to buy. If you want to find a unique gift for someone, this could be the place you'll find it.
