The price was very reasonable & free refills on Sweet Tea. I sat outside on the cover veranda and watched some golf. A cool place to enjoy a meal. Cheers

That said, I played a round of 18 holes with a cart for $18. WOW. WHAT A VALUE! This is a pretty easy course. Not much in the way of hazards or spots where you could lose a golf ball, making it ideal for beginners. I usually clock in at an 85-90, but walked off this course with a firm 80 thanks to a couple driveable par 4s and reachable par 5s. The greens are very small overall, and well guarded on the par 3s, which is really where you feel the challenge here. Clubhouse, though showing a little wear, good condition overall. The carts are gas powered to get up and down the various hills, and were comfortable. Being winter time, course amenities were few. No water stations, fine for the weather, but also no rangers harassing you about how you are playing. Love that. Many holes do not have full cart paths, so for a person playing the first time you might get crossed up between holes. That said, using a GPS app like the Grint will get you where you need to go, and the yardages are accurate. For the money, and as someone from out of town, this is an incredible golf value. If you're not picky, this is a great course to tee it up and get some practice in.

I want to wake up to the sounds of nature and spend the afternoon on the water. It just wasn't my thing growing up. We lived on a military base, where life was super urban and the Nature Center was a place you went to on occasion. But again, I am trying. I stopped in here after a Sunday brunch and cocktails (see what I mean?). My thought process was that if I expose myself to businesses that deal with the outdoors then maybe it will help me get outdoors more. I went to the golf section first (taking it slow) to check out the apparel. I worked my way around to fishing gear then was sure to check out the knife selection. I must have spent a better part of an hour there. What I like most about this Savannah-based business is the variety of products. There is women's apparel, Yeti coolers, and more. They offer free classes like Fly Fishing 101, where you can learn about fly casting and outfit rigging (no, I don't know what that is). There are private classes you pay for like Fly Tying, Casting, and Fly Fishing School. I am glad they are in the area and maybe, just maybe, they can be the key to me loving the outdoors more.

They're in great shape, but it might be time to change due to technological advances. I'm relatively new to Augusta and quickly found Edwin Watts. I was happy to learn that they do NOT charge for swinging clubs and you can get all the stats you want from time in the bay. Interestingly, I hit a number of drivers and none of them went as far or as straight as my current driver. I was surprised! Rather than trying to sell me a driver for the sake of a sale, the young man I was working with told me "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I respected that. It's important to note that at the time, he didn't know I wanted to look at irons as well. After hitting 5 drivers with varied shaft setups I asked if I could hit some irons. At this point, I had been there for about an hour. The staff was unfazed and allowed me to hit multiple irons with different shaft setups. The managers got involved a bit and offered some ideas. Overall, a great experience. I will definitely buy clubs from Edwin Watts as long as I'm in Augusta. Additionally, I'll refer everyone I know to the store.
