**DO NOT STAY HERE** - Casa Del Bosque Cancun
Alexandre at We Concierge was the Property Manager at this Airbnb and it was a terrible experience. We canceled our reservation, and he still refused to refund us for the days we did not stay there.
This is our review of the property:
On the surface this property looks beautiful and inviting even though the pictures are definitely outdated and not accurate. I've booked many Airbnb's and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had.
This property was lacking in many necessary basic items, but also was not safe in many ways. We got an electric shock anytime we touched the stove, upside of that: there were no dishes, no silverware or pots and pans to cook with so we didn't have to touch it much. There was literally ONE fork. We hired a private chef to come cook for us and after we arrived we realized that wasn't an option any longer due to aforementioned lack of kitchenware.
At roughly 9 PM someone that we didn't know came into the house and started opening windows and turning on fans and scared my teenage daughter and her friend to the point she had to lock her bedroom door to feel safe.
There was no hot water. After talking to the property manager, we were told to let the water run for 15 minutes which we did and didn't help at all and there never was any hot water.
The toilets were clogged the first time we tried to flush them and it never flushed.
There was a problem with the gate to the property that we could not figure out. We went to get groceries and we were stuck outside while our ice and groceries melted. The property owner never responded to our help request and we finally got the gate open after an hour.
The pool was not ready when we showed up and we were advised not to swim in it because they just dumped chemicals into it. We also were told the jacuzzi does not operate properly ie: no hot water. The next day the fumes were still so toxic it was unusable.
I could go on but I am honestly not a complainer. I've never left a bad review. When issues arise (as they do) I generally just let it go. But there were too many problems that made staying there unbearable.
A few more things:
There literally was not one blanket in the whole house. Every bed had a sheet only and when we requested blankets they actually brought us more sheets!!
The wi-fi was very spotty.
Our air-conditioner had a bucket catching water (and dripped on our sheets) One refrigerator didn't work and the other was barely cold. Part of the overall electrical issues, I believe.
We decided to cancel our reservation for the rest of the time we had booked. We asked the owner for a refund because of all of the things that we're not acceptable and they refused, even though we cancelled our remaining days and we were not there.
Because of the seriousness of our complaint, Airbnb actually refunded us directly even though the owner of this property kept our money. The property manager, Alex, was rude and unapologetic for all of these things.
This experience could've ruined our whole vacation but we decided to book another place which ended up being wonderful.
Alex's weak and lacking management style is shameful and unacceptable. Definitely do not book this property. I love Airbnb's in general but this property is not worth staying at even if it was free.
The pictures are great but don't judge a book by its cover.
