She reassured me went went back home to Canada and the property was left for months ...no pictures on MSL no showings surprisingly..we had one offer which was way below asking price and she told us she told them no without consulting us first. We took it off the market and I have been asking for the paperwork ever since. She makes Remax look bad. I would not recommend ReMax now to anyone. We were referred to her by a realtor at ReMax here on Pender Island and when I asked him to get hold of her ony behalf as she was not answering my messages he messaged her on face book and she never answered him either. Now I still have a property to sell my mom has the beginnings of Altzeimers and it will be almost impossible to get all the info together again .to try to sell it.

RunAway Realty Review…read more When we told people we were planning to buy a house in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico, people were concerned. "Is it safe?", "Can you buy property in Mexico, I heard you could only lease.", "What about the Cartels?", "Mexico can take away your property." Unfortunately, there is a lot of mis-information about Mexico that people who have never been, believe wholeheartedly. We have been coming to Puerto Morelos since 2013. If we didn't feel safe, we wouldn't have bought here. The people who live in Puerto Morelos are the nicest, friendliest people you will ever meet. We have several friends here that are locals that we have known for years, and we consider them to be part of our family. We chose Run Away Realty because we had been renting a house across the street from them for several years. When the owner decided to sell the house, they used Run Away Realty. So we knew we could trust them. They are also featured on House Hunters International on HGTV. If they have been vetted by HGTV, you know you can't go wrong. We worked with Daniela Trava "Dani". She took us to tour several houses, and we found the perfect home for us. It had the Mexican Charm we were so used to, a tree as part of the house, and a wonderful roof top patio with a Plunge Pool. Our closing was very different than most, because there was a lien on the property. The lien had to be paid off before we could finalize our purchase. This required us to do what was called a "Soft-Closing". Thus, we had to pay off their loan before we could officially buy the property. Talk about needing to really trust your realtor! We had full faith in Dani and Kim that we would make it through this "scary" time, and it all worked out beautifully. Kim Temple has built a wonderful reputation in this town she has called home for over 14 years. And, the fact that she was an attorney in her previous life in Colorado, added an extra layer of trust. She has a set team of professionals she is connected with and has been growing her Realty Business by adding new folks, like Dani! Through Dani, we were able to connect with her husband, Jaime, to be our property manager, and Milly Arceo for our residency. Jaime has been a great helper with getting things fixed around our new home, finding people to build things for our home, and taking care of our property when we are not in Puerto Morelos. Milly was amazing to work with for our residency. She prepared all of the documents, instructed us on what to do and how to do it, and she nailed it! Everything happened exactly like she said! We are loving our Puerto Morelos home, our new neighborhood, being able to go to the beach whenever we want (it is literally 6 minutes from our house!) And especially enjoy all of the wonderful restaurants in the Colonia as well as the Port Side of Puerto Morelos! And we are so thankful we had Dani to guide us through all of it, and as it turns out, as a Neighbor!

At every step of the process Cristina either tried to sabotage the sale or get a kick back. On multiple occasions Cristina and her husband, Fernando, approached the notary for a kick back and told the seller she received the full 5% commission, instead of splitting it equally between the seller and buyer agents. In addition to her efforts to introduce side deals into our sale, she lacks a basic understanding of real estate transactions. She did not understand Escrow nor the requirements involved with transactions involving foreigners and the need for a fideicomiso (the trust required for foreigners owning beachfront property). Because of Cristina's incompetence, the seller relied on our agent for everything. Avoid any real estate transaction involving Cristina Aleman or her husband, Fernando, at all costs. The only thing she did right was show up to closing on time to collect her commission. She is the type of fraudulent person giving Mexico a bad reputation.

The condominium is adjacent to the sandy beach. If swimming in the ocean is not for you, the condo has a pool as well as a jacuzzi! The condo is a short walk to the main square of Puerto Morelos, where you can find great eating and shopping places. The manager of the condo, Victoria Messi, was of tremendous help!
