It was obvious that Dr. Cohen cared greatly about his patients and was willing to take the time to explain clearly answers to all my questions. I chose, in consultation with Dr. Cohen, the Light Adjustable Lenses, and they were exactly the right choice for me. He is very smart, knowledgeable about all the eye challenges I had, and has well trained staff to support him. When/if I had any questions between appointments, it was easy to talk with a professional tech person who could help me right then. I heartily recommend Dr. Cohen and Cohen Eye Associates.

A very calming demeanor for an anxious person like myself. She answered all my questions, and she made sure to ask about my medical history and what meds I was taking to ensure I had and accurate, healthy eye exam. She keeps my off site and BJC medical doctors informed of my status. Her optic assistants were all great, thorough and professional. The office intake staff are professional and accommodating to patient needs. I would recommend COHEN ASSOCIATES if you want excellent care.

As I am to be out of town for a couple weeks and not able to see my primary Opthamologist, I wanted to see an eye specialist sooner, to make sure nothing was wrong. Well, Tracy (sp?) from Galanis eye center--was super amazing and accommodating; she was able to set me up to see Dr. Galanis that same morning (I know the doctor and center are busy normally, so felt very blessed to be able to get in and see him so quickly) Gretta, the tech and Dr. Galanis were great as well, and Dr. Galanis provided me with helpful feedback and some drop prescriptions that will help with my eye discomfort. He and the office definitely helped give me peace of mind and I'm super impressed at the quality of customer service and how well the office is run! If I ever need an eye specialist or have eye concerns in the future, while visiting St. Louis, I will definitely be coming here! Great job, Tracy and Galanis Cataract & Laser Eye Center! Lesley

That is what I came there to rid myself of. The reading eye is constantly irritated. They gave me steroid eye drops with no relief. So here I am wearing reading glasses several thousand dollars later. Highly disappointed.

I've been going to the Institute for over a year to get shots in my eye for retina bleeding. I was told then making good faith payments is fine. On the 5th Sept. I paid off the last of the #318.22 I owed. A week later I had another appointment. Two days before that The Institute called me and told me I owed an additional $59. I was of course irritated but agreed to pay an additional $59. Then that woman sent me to Maureen who told me I owed not $59 but $400 more. I was angry now. But not having any options I agreed to pay that amount. Then two days later after arriving at the appointment I was informed that if I had to pay $400 plus then and there. Or well I guess I wouldn't receive the shot required to save the vision in my right eye. I was shocked! Where did this come from? I've been paying all along as the treatments were given. And in fact had been told I was now completely debt free to the Institute. This is when Maureen from a phone somewhere declared I was lying! I had no idea what she was talking about. I live on a fixed income and plan my money as best as anyone can. But The Institute had not only changed policy but failed to tell me until I arrived at the appointment. What Maureen claimed is entirely fictious. I'm now convinced she construed her call was a demand for payment clearly made and now I was lying. They claim they have a voice copy of our conversation. I hope they do. I'm not trying to get out of paying anything. Shame on her! The Retina Institute is not a fast-food joint. I can't go to another two blocks away or cross the street and go to Burger King. Shame on her. Shame on The Retina Institute for changing their policy and demanding upfront payment with two days notice and then leaving the notification in the hands of someone not capable of clearly stating the changes. Perhaps a name change is in order for The Retina Institute. How about "The Pay Upfront or go Blind Institute?" It's a little long, doesn't roll off the tongue but it is damn accurate.
