    This is going to be long, but I just couldn't hold back anymore…read more This is one of the worst banks ever! They are SEVERELY understaffed and have been for at least 3 years now... probably even longer than that. They have 4 registers and in the last 3 years, I have never seen more than 2 tellers working the counter at the same time. It's always just 1 or 2 tellers. And it doesn't matter how long the line is. Managers do nothing to help try to keep the line moving. They used to have someone walking around the floor with a tablet and asking customers in line what they need help with, to see if they are able to help shorten the wait/line a little bit. But they don't even do that anymore. The line wait times are completely ridiculous and unacceptable! Every time I go there, there's a line almost to the door. I would say if there's more than 4 people in line, you will literally be waiting in line for a good 30-60 mins... not an exaggeration. I've been late to appts and work before. It's a shame because there's a lot of elderly people who bank here and they have a hard time standing in line for so long. One time, on a hot 90 degree day, the line was so long that they even locked the doors so that no more customers could enter the bank. There were elderly customers trying to get in and they wouldn't budge to let them in for nothing. How embarrassing! The most annoying thing about this branch is that no matter if the teller is in the middle of helping a customer, managers will come and bother them for things constantly. And they pull tellers away from the customers to help them with something, making wait times even longer. I can't even tell you how many times I've been at the counter being helped, and they ask me to wait and that they'll be right back because they have to do something. Whether that's let Brinks in the vault, or because a manager or another teller needs needs help with something. It's completely rude and inconsiderate. It's common sense that you should finish helping a customer first before doing something else. They just have no sense of urgency whatsoever. All of the amazing employees that have worked here, left the bank and went elsewhere. It's been sad to have seen them all disappear one by one because they were always so great and efficient. And now, it's almost a completely new staff. I barely see any familiar faces. The only one who still works here that is amazing is Ivana. She never fails customers. Always greets returning customers by name. She is so hardworking, friendly and makes sure to get the job done swiftly and efficiently.

I went in to make a wire transfer and they told me to come back in the afternoon even though there was only one customer in the bank and several people standing around. The Orange branch has been wonderful to me in many many ways on every occasion. From the first, everyone was welcoming and informative. Additionally, one person in particular had the patience to deal with what became a number of complicated financial scenarios. She has the confidence to say she will double-check on an fact or issue rather than assume she knows every answer to every question. The tellers are always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They are up-to-date on banking and the specific services Connex offers. If there is any way for you to save money, they will share that information with you. They take the time to make each transaction a pleasant experience without holding up the line. Regardless of the number of people in line, never have I witnessed impatience or outbursts from customers or employees. I have conducted business at the North Haven HQ, Hamden, Orange, and New Haven branches. The professional and friendly attitude has been consistent throughout the organization. If you are allowing yourself to be exploited by using a "real" bank such as B of A or Chase, RUN to a credit union. Connex offers many advantages that save customers time and money and the service is exceptional.
