Many food trucks, I had close free parking within half a block (and the blocks are smallish), it radiates out in 4 blocked streets from the center, with everything I expected in farm stands, food trucks, and unique items. The organizers have done a fantastic job with this market. There are broad sidewalks behind all the rows, to escape the "crowd" but really I found the density of crowd perfectly pleasant, not too much, just cheerful, and there were plenty of benches and steps to sit on for a quick break. Plenty of spots to sit with food, plenty of space for each stand. Overall, I've seen markets across the country and give this 5 stars for being just super pleasant in every regard. People of Lafayette area are so friendly and cheerful, too! Enjoy! P.S. Located in the heart of downtown Lafayette, you'll find dozens of vendors selling everything from plants and fresh baked croissants to candles and produce. It's a great mix of vendors with plenty of produce for those looking to prepare for the week ahead. They also often have live music to set the mood and if I remember correctly, the market is dog-friendly. Given the great location, you can also explore all of the adjacent shops and restaurants while you are there. We're especially a fan of the Revolution Bakery.

They play live music in the Amphitheater for a couple hours. There is something for everyone. The veggies looked fresh and I bought corn, dill and the most beautiful and freshest eggplants that I have ever seen. Prices were reasonable. Venders were selling everything from baked goods, local meats, fresh cut flowers and honey. There were some vendors selling craft and artisan items. Most notable to me was a vendor selling beautiful hand crafted leather items. We saw about a dozen food trucks selling breakfast items, coffee, smoothies, donuts and more. An entrance and separate exit had been set up. The hanging baskets were affordable and gorgeous but I had already purchased my baskets. The annuals and perennials selection was limited but healthy and a nice variety. Once I went inside the stand I found prebagged greenbeans, tomatoes and new potatoes I had to take home with me. They were fresh and made for a nice summer meal. If you're in the area stop by and checkout the selection. It's a short drive from Plainfield on US 40.

You could buy freshly prepared crepes, fresh pies and amazingly beautiful fruits and vegetables and much more. Vendors are friendly. In the center of the pop-ups, was live music, which was quite good. Tables were available for patrons to sit and listen, socialize and enjoy their purchases. Little kids were dancing to the music. Prices are on the high side, but you are getting the best Indiana has to offer. I bought award winning bbq sauce, Dad's sweet corn (of course) and a kit to grow mushrooms. (Now I'm wondering what is in that $12 mushroom kit?) we paid cash, but I think many will take electronic payments. Parking is a challenge. I think most people park along the Monon Trail and walk in, that's what we did. Dogs are not allowed, so leave Fido at home. I saw some people with wagons to carry their purchases.

This market is within walking distance of the county courthouse in Franklin. It's open Saturdays 8 am - noon.

We arrived ten minutes before opening to find a line of about 200 people waiting to enter. These people are serious shoppers that come equipped with carts, wagons and armfuls of bags. Seventy or so vendors are organized by produce, crafts, baked goods and prepared foods. Long lines of shoppers form quickly outside popular produce vendors, making it difficult to shop. The regulars know exactly where they want to go. If you see something you want, you need to buy it quickly or it's gone. The produce was locally grown and beautiful in most booths. Prices were high, in general, but shoppers were not deterred. I picked up some beautiful and reasonably priced eggplant. But I draw the line at $6 pints of cherry tomatoes. Several vendors were selling fresh baked goods. Bakeries from around central Indiana were present. I saw breads, muffins, cookies and more. I was intrigued by sourdough bread and bought a loaf. Music plays at a central location. Tables and chairs fill up quickly with coffee drinkers and people sampling the various food selections. We had trouble finding a seat to eat my breakfast pizza. People had dogs on leashes, lots of dogs. Personally, I prefer not to have dogs at the markets because they stick their noses in the food. Don't get me wrong, I'm a dog lover, but I leave mine at home. Parking fills quickly and we found backing out of our space to exit a challenge as cars kept coming. Some people park over in the mall parking and walk, which might be easier. I did not see rest rooms or other amenities. I think it's probably easier to shop after you have been a few times to the market and know exactly what you want. Bring a hand cart.
