What an amazing experience! To say my wife and I were pleasantly surprised with the way we were treated is an understatement! I was last in Capri 20 years ago and it has been my dream to always come back and to show my wife the amazing hospitality and beauty that is Capri/Anacapri. First off, you can call the hotel when you get to Marina Grande to let them know you've arrived and they will send a shuttle either for you and your luggage or just your luggage so you can go straight to the hotel or you can start exploring from the Marina and work your way up. To say we were shocked when we got to La Piazzetta and saw everyone in designer clothes and designer shops as far as the eye could see was an understatement, immediately I got a wave of imposter syndrome and regret of bringing us to a place in which we no longer belonged. Then, we got to the hotel. We got there very early, around 9:30am due to a sporting event happening during normal check-in time which was going to shut down the main road (the only way to get to the hotel) during normal check in hours, to see if we could store our baggage until after the sporting event ended and we could check-in. Not only was that not a problem, they immediately said "we can have your room ready in an hour and a half"! Granted, this was a special circumstance, please don't try to take advantage of their kindness unless it's a necessity. Not being prepared for how high-end Capri had become, we weren't necessarily "dressed the part", my cargo shorts and flannel/North Face fleece surely stuck out to them but they didn't let it show to us. Not once were we treated any differently than the guests dressed head to toe in Fendi or any other designer you could name (believe me, if you can name it, we saw it). At one point, we were leaving for the morning and a staff member asked which room we were in, I misunderstood and thought they were a lost guest because of how well they were dressed and tried to give them directions on which rooms were where (insert face-palm emoji here)! She gave me the Italian version of "oh, bless your heart" more or less, lol. The hotel has a shuttle that runs all day and into the evening to and from La Piazzetta which was such a great perk, it runs every 15 minutes, the drivers were all very professional and friendly! We were greeted each time we entered the lobby with smiles and welcomes and were asked how our day was or what our plans were, how our boat tour went, etc. The entire staff went above and beyond with kindness and hospitality and they don't know how much that truly meant to us both. The room was immaculate! We had a seaside view, you can see the Faraglioni Rocks from the hotel and we could see them perfectly from our private terrace as well, they happen to be one of if not my most favorite things that I've ever seen and I've been dreaming of seeing them again since I first came to the island as a teen. To wake up to and see the sunset with them was a treasure. The hotel has more than one restaurant, we dined at the main one just off the lobby and the food was delicious! The tomatoes in the caprese could not have been more fresh, the mozzarella di bufala was to die for, the seafood was local, dessert was fantastic! We were even given a traditional Limoncello shot with dessert but politely declined as I'm almost 2.5 years sober. This hotel will forever be the ONLY place we stay on Capri and I don't recall ever having an experience that made me feel like that about a hotel. My family and I came to celebrate my cousins hen do/bachelorette party in capri. When the 17 of us showed up the hospitality from our man Niccolo and his team was over the top! Every request we had was done in a timely manner, and whenever we did need anything our man Niccolo was literally around the corner. Shuttle service was very convenient, and location was key! Had a far less than ideal experience. The only redeeming quality was the view. Couple notable things happened: - To start, our room smelled very strongly of mildew/mold, which we suspected to be from lack of the hotel's regular servicing/maintenance of the AC unit. With lack of servicing, an AC unit can start growing mold spores inside. My bf is particularly sensitive to mildew/mold and it causes him to break out with an allergic reaction. We tried to explain this to the reception staff but they didn't seem to get it. We tried to have them at least clean the AC unit, which they were very slow to finally do and the process took about an hour and a half of us repeatedly going back up to reception to remind them. When it was finally "cleaned," we went back into the room and found that the staff had sprayed a horrible smelling strong air freshener in the room, clearly to try and cover up the mildew smell. The fragrance actually smelled WORSE than the mildew and I started getting a horrible headache. They weren't able to switch our rooms that night since the hotel was fully booked, which I understand, and unfortunately there were no other nearby hotels with availability for us and it was getting late into the evening. So, we slept in the room with the doors open to let the room air out. The staff never once offered us anything for the inconvenience -- when I asked whether they could at least knock off half the cost for the night, they said they couldn't do that and offered us some drinks instead. ??? The next day, they were able to switch us to a new room (they told us the night before that we would get a "nicer" room), and the new room was just the room right next door and felt smaller than the first and was not nicer by any means. Still a faint smell of mildew in the second room, but we were ready to just give up and put up with it. - The second room's toilet seat was broken which was another ordeal to get fixed. - Then we took a look at the AC unit in the second room and what do we see? Mold! Black mold. And we found mold growing on the telephone cord in the bathroom of the room. We told the reception staff and showed them pictures. They just didn't seem to get that mold in a hotel room is unacceptable and a literal health hazard. They then showed us around two more rooms which were fine but we, at a minimum, wanted a refund for the first night for the inconvenience caused, lost time on our vacation dealing with the issues and time spent changing rooms, and most importantly the health hazards posed to us by breathing in the mold. The reception staff person (Vincenzo) began getting more and more upset and raised his voice to us that he was getting impatient with our requests (well, so were we, we didn't want to deal with this on our vacation....). We contacted the booking agency (Hotels.com) and were on the phone with them for 45 minutes to try and get a refund for the first night. To keep it short, at first Hotels.com offered us just a 10% refund ($150). This was laughable and we *eventually* got them to refund us the first night. - We ended up taking a new third room at the hotel. I took a shower in this third room and after the shower noticed a large pool of water beneath the sink. Turns out that water was backing up out of the cleanup because of a buildup of soap scum and hair (um gross). We had maintenance come by to drain it and our entire suite smelled like sewer gas. To top that off, the bathroom has no fan for some reason which is foul, so the smell was stuck in the bathroom. Also, breakfast buffet, dinner, and bar drinks were mediocre. We ate dinner at the hotel one night and had grilled fish which was not seasoned at all and a foul smelling black liquid came out of the head of one of the king prawns we ate. Thankfully, we didn't get a stomach bug. The pasta we ate was good. Again, only positive thing about this place was the view. Will not be returning even if this is the last place available on Capri. The front staff person is also in major need of customer service training. His behavior was unacceptable. BEWARE BEFORE BOOKING! read more

Ran into an emergency with the ferry being canceled for the day and the hotel refused to drive us back to the hotel unless we paid for another night- this was even after we advised them we would be taking the 2am ferry. If you're traveling to Capri, I must advise that this hotel is more of a motel (and don't write me telling me how European standards are different. I used to live here and I understand the disparities): In a nutshell: Really crappy hotel. Really poor service. Really great view. Negatives: Server took a smoke break while we waited for food. Stale bread to start. Brought wrong dish to me -- far later than my husband's meal. Did not bring wine (which I ordered first of all) until after all food was served. 30 minute walk from beach to hotel/motel (uphill on crazy narrow road shared with autos -- common in Europe). Positives: Shuttle pick up from the ferry landing was jiffy. Views from hotel are spectacular. Shuttle from hotel/motel to town center every 30 minutes from 2 pm to 2 am. 10 minute walk to public beach from hotel/motel (downhill on crazy narrow road shared with autos - common in Europe). Can anyone who has been to Capri recommend a nice property with a view, excellent food and wine -- and superior service? Too late for us but for my followers, you may be doing a fine service! The hotel is in a great location by the smaller marina. The shuttle service runs every 10 minutes which is free. Loved that. The restaurant is fine. We are there for two dinners and breakfast was included. My only complaint is that the room is on the small side. But the front desk was very helpful and gave us an upgrade for free so we got a balcony instead of a French balcony. read more

Our recent stay was awesome and exceeded our expectations for the rate we paid. The hotel is about a 20 drive from the port (call the hotel and arrange for pickup - it's just 6 euros pp). Once you arrive to the hotel, you just need to pull your luggage up a ramp about 25 feet. The hotel is secluded which I like, but with complimentary shuttle rides into the center of town (7-min drive) which operates from 7am - 2am, what's not to like? We made friends with the drivers, particularly Raffaele. About the hotel itself, let's start with the staff which were friendly, but I have to say the front desk is not managed well. This was the only downfall, BUT it didn't necessarily affect our stay; we would totally come back. So upon arrival, we were early for check-in and were told to come back at 11am, which we did. At this time, there were about 3-4 groups checking in at the same time we were, so naturally we had to wait. The weird thing is if anyone was checking OUT, the staff would take them first. It didn't matter if you were waiting to check-in for over 30+ minutes, they put checkout guests first and made them a priority. It was really weird; never experienced this with any other hotel. At times, they would say, "Anyone checking OUT?" If someone said yes, they would call those people up first. So not only did we have to wait behind 3-4 groups checking in, but we had to wait for anyone checking out as well, even if they just rolled up to the front desk. They need a better system bc this is not working. Aside this minor issue which was not a dealbreaker, they were friendly and attentive when necessary. Breakfast was not included in our stay but I took a peep when I was getting change; the breakfast looked and smelled very good. The gym is super small, but it has what I needed to get through my sessions. They have two bikes, two treadmills, and one stairclimber that did not work. They have a good number of weights and a bench. It's also not air conditioned (has just a fan) so it will feel like a steam room most times. The room is pretty big; I mean I am not used to this in Europe and I did get a room for three, but still, I could've easily had four or maybe even five in there with comfort. The décor is bleak, BUT aside that, it was very spacious, had a balcony, safe, and fridge. Also note there is a mirror outside the bathroom which helps when you have two girls getting ready. Oh, there is a pool (or two) but we were too busy to use it. Complimentary wifi worked fine. Overall, a great hotel and I would stay there again! read more

Where do I start? Fantastic Hotel! I've been coming to Capri for over 20 years and this is the most relaxing stay in any hotel. Front desk and all staff are tops. The rooms are simple but clean and you have all the necessary necessities. The views are insane and the rooms with terraces are tops. You are literally over the sea. There is a fantastic pool, gym, nail and hair salon. There is a shuttle from the port and to the center every 10 minutes. It's quiet and serene and you can walk down to the beach. I almost don't want to share I want to keep this one a secret. The restaurant is really good and the pool bar plus the breakfast buffet is like a full on brunch. Capri is dreamy. read more

We enjoyed our honeymoon here. Although the rooms are very simple and dated, they are spotlessly clean. Sheets and towels changed everyday, fully cleaned bathroom, all new toiletries. What really earns this hotel 5 stars are the following reasons: - amazing views - restaurant has terrific food that can be ordered for room service for only 5€ extra. I highly recommend so you can enjoy a meal on your patio. - huge breakfast buffet - very reasonably priced food and drinks - free shuttle to piazzetta every 10 min or so - nice staff - two pools - very short walk to beach - did I mention super clean?! We would definitely stay here again. Can't beat the location as this side of the island is much prettier than the Marina Grande side, price, cleanliness, tasty food, and friendly staff. read more

For our last night in Capri we were driven* over to The Weber Ambassador {Hotel} for dinner on their spectacular covered patio overlooking the Marina Piccola and the beautifully calm Tyrrhenian Sea. In traditional Italian style we were served up 4+ courses: First up was a bruchetti [pizza] to share. Outstanding chewy crust covered w/ tomato halves, olive oil and fresh basil. Among the best pizza we had during the whole trip. Then came the pasta! Their cheese ravioli is the best ravioli I've ever had. Seriously. Six freshly made, large round ravioli's filled with a super smooth blend of caciotta, parmesan and percorino cheeses, and covered in a smooth light tomato sauce. No other ravioli I've had anywhere else will ever come close to these, I am now ruined for all future ravioli's. And quite honestly none of the other courses beat out the ravioli... The roasted chicken was solid - cooked up in a mushroom & tomato based sauce and served with rosemary potatoes. Delicious little cubes of potato. I wish they had given me more of these. This dish also came w/ a simple salad. And last but not least - dessert! Rum soaked cake + vanilla cake with lemon cream + a shot of lemoncello. The cakes were good - when they say "rum soaked" they are not kidding. Combined w/ the lemoncello - dessert was booze filled and fabulous. Staff at Hotel Weber was fantastic. Each and every server who came out, whether to fill wine glasses or deliver the next course, had a smile on their face. And its worth mentioning again - the view from the restaurant is stunning. The room smelled like mildew. It was more humid in the room than outside. The AC didn't work. There were ashtrays in our room upon arrival. When we called for the hotel to pick us up at the bus stop in Capri, they wrote our names down and said they were sending someone -- when the van arrived 40 mins later (should be a 10 minute trip), we loaded our bags in the trunk and didn't have space in the van because the driver didn't make sure we would have room ourselves. We then had to take our bags and wait for another van to pick us 20 minutes later. After we got settled, we attempted to use the hot tub but it was closed for some reason. We asked and we're told it was not available. It was an awful trip. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

The place is THE BEST DEAL ON THE ISLAND!! YOU MUST get a deluxe room. IT IS WORTH IT!!! They have shuttles to town every few minutes. I can't say enough about the place. GREAT WORK GIOVANNI! You are tough.. but your employees give you all you ask because your place runs SMOOTH!! EVERYONE should go to Frank Sinatra's favorite hotel. If it's good enough fro Frank.. it's good enough for me. My biggest mistake was to review this place on TripAdvisor before I left!!! This is exactly what happened that evening. The night before we left a man from the front desk called my room around 6:30 pm to ask me to go to the manager's office, I asked him if there was a problem. "Not at all" he said. I told him I'd go before dinner at seven, when my husband and I were getting ready, there was a knock on our door. The same man asked me again to go to the manager's office. I told him that as soon as we were ready I would go and see the manager. When I got there the manager grabbed my hand and tried to kiss the top part it was really unexpected so I pulled my hand away, his face changed and he asked "what are we going to do about this?" I replied "about what, sir?" He said about your review. I told him that it was the truth, and offered to give me 50% off the final bill, my reply was that it was not about money but integrity. Then he offered free accommodations, and I reiterated my last response. Finally he offered free accommodations plus one week stay anytime in the future. My reply was the same. Then he told me he had a witness, the man from earlier, and that the lady at the front desk was going to be fired because I disclosed her name in my review. I told him that she was rude but I didn't want her to lose her job and that I would remove her name from the review. He screamed at me "NO YOU TAKE ALL REVIEW OFF!" He walked toward me raising his fist and told me that I was going to Italian prison, that I did not know Italian laws. I asked if this was a threat and he said "ma'am you are on an island and you will never leave here." I told him that the conversation was over and walked away. A few minutes later while I was at dinner the manager came to the table with the ladies name tag and told me "you got her name wrong so do whatever you want" I asked how he was going to be fire her if I had her name wrong? He just said "you stupid Americans" and left. I have never being so terrified in my life, I did not sleep a wink that night. My mother passed away and I am dealing with her loss. That was one of the reasons for me to go on this holiday and also to see five stars hotels in Capri because there's is an upcoming event and we were looking for accommodations. My husband and I are in our sixties. We are not harassing anyone. It is unimaginable that this establishment is listed as a five star hotel when it is barely a three. The views are beautiful but in reality the views are beautiful all over the island. We were staying in the five hundreds rooms which are right below the restaurant, so the noise starting at 5:00 am of the employees setting up for breakfast is really disrupting. The balconies are not really private so the maids were out there without knocking. The mini bar employees come inside the room while we were still in bed. The food was not that bad but nothing special either. The waiters encourage you to leave tips for them because they work really hard from 5:00 am to sometimes midnight. read more

Unfortunately, I could not recommend this hotel. It was three star, AT BEST. The hot tub was tepid, at best. We had a VERY cramped room that was in need of updating. Although the sheets were covered in body hairs, the housekeeping staff was exceedingly sweet about fixing the issue. The wifi code did not work, and it was necessary to walk to reception to get a new code. The receptionist was indignant and insistent that the code worked, so I allowed her to enter it into my phone so she could see for herself that it did not work. No apologies, just a new code and a dismissive attitude. Some people should really not be working in customer service. read more

The location isn't terribly convenient, but this is my favorite place to stay in Capri. And even though it's removed from most of the island action, they provide free transportation whenever you need it. The entire place is spotless, the views are breathtaking, and if you manage to get a room with a large terrace, you'll never forget your visit. One really odd (but amazing!) thing is that their room service menu is the same price as their regular menu, which is already quite affordable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Capri. Although the hotel was on the other side of the island (not near the major port), it was absolutely beautiful. The pictures posted don't do it justice. The hotel was clean, food was good, and the staff was nice and accommodating. The best part, in my opinion, is that the hotel is just a 5 minute walk to the beach! The beach is smaller, and not as crowded as others which was amazing. The hotel also has a free shuttle to and from the center of town, which was really nice. The only thing I was a little upset about was how much they pushed going to dinner at this one restaurant in the center of town (which wasn't very good). The hotel and restaurant are owned by the same company, so that's the only option they give you besides eating at the hotel. Otherwise, everything was great. This hotel had nice rooms, although small but that's Europe for you. The ocean views were beautiful, the breakfast was good, and the shuttle service to the city center and Marina Grande port was very convenient. However, despite all these pros, the biggest con of the hotel is it's service and attitude of the people working there. They seem like a fraternity of guys who are lazy, rude and unprofessional. When we got to the hotel we thought our shower was not working, they sent someone up to look at it and it worked after they fixed it. When we thought the hair dryer wasn't working the same guy came up to fix it. When we called to have someone come and look at it they were laughing on the phone. When we checked out they almost lost our luggage with our passports on it cause they forgot to tag it. When we were leaving the hotel, the guy who was helping us laughed and said "Hope to see you never again". The hotel just needs to put the hospitable in Hospitality. But, they lack it so I doubt it will happen. Service is everything, if that is bad then it out does the pros. read more
