Title: Reflective Review on Webb Toyota's Customer Service and Product Fulfillment This is a comprehensive review intended to shed light on my recent experience with Webb Toyota. In July 2023, I made the decision to acquire a 2023 model of the Toyota Highlander. As part of this acquisition, an essential trailer hitch was installed onto the vehicle at an additional cost of $1000. Upon initial utilization of this feature, it came to my attention that several crucial elements were non-operational - these included brake lights, backup lights, running lights amongst others; rendering the situation considerably perilous due to compromised vehicular safety. I reached out directly to Matt Beach-- their Sales Manager -- striving for resolution or some form of rectification; sadly without any reply via email, text, or phone correspondence. I live approximately two hours away from their dealership, and going there in person poses hardships which could could have been avoided with just minimal diligence from the Webb Toyota Service Department Further independent investigation into this matter took place recently by involving a separate trailer dealership who immediately identified issues stemming from lack of a converter necessary for power distribution toward the trailer lighting system. The unforeseen shortcomings originating from dealings with unqualified personnel employed by Webb Toyota instigated dangerous circumstances as well as contradicted the company's professed motto proclaiming-- "We are The Can Do Dealer." Astonishingly, prior to releasing the vehicle to me, there appeared to have been no testing done to determine whether the lighting worked. I would have certainly thought that the technicians at Webb would have verified whether the system worked prior to releasing a new vehicle to me. Where was the dealerships commitment to customers' safety satisfaction. My experiences reflect nothing more than bitter disappointment and certainly tainted my faith in them. Had an appointment for an oil change. Pulled up to the door and was greeted by Anthony who was professional and helpful writing up our order. Even got my wife and I a ride to a local restaurant for lunch. Upon return the mechanic that worked on our Tundra gave us a detailed description of what he saw and recommended. We had traveled from Kansas City, through the mountains to get to Farmington. Shortly after we arrived, our car quite working, and all sorts of lights came on the dashboard. We called Webb and had our car towed to their service lot. In talking with Jarod in their service department, he explained they were booked weeks out and he was short handed, and he didn't think they could get to it for several days at best. I explained we were a thousand miles from home, and if they could even do a diagnostic so we could make some decisions about what we needed to do, it would be greatly appreciated. Later that afternoon, he called and said they had been able to do the diagnostic, and had the parts needed. (Alternator committed a murder/suicide with the battery,) They were able to fit it in the next day. We greatly appreciated Jarod and the service team communicating what was going on, fitting our car in a busy schedule, and getting us on the road. It's most unfortunate, when you live in a rural area like San Juan County, New Mexico that you're stuck with poor customer service when attempting to schedule a service appointment and have to accept it. Can you call ahead and schedule an appointment? maybe. That's a maybe if someone answers the phone. You can try for a couple hours, or you can not purchase from here. It's your choice. As tourists traveling from Tucson, Arizona, we had some brake trouble and we found Webb Toyota in Farmington New Mexico. They were close , actually only five miles from our hotel. When I called them they explained they had several appointments but we coulds come in and wait for the car. Fortunately it only took about 3 hours and we were out the door with our repair done. They were very friendly, professional and explained everything that our car needed --- it was reasonably priced! Thank you Webb Toyota for a job well done. read more

I went to check on my mom's title and registration but was told that the packet had yet to be mailed out to Chinle MVD as the title clerk was a new employee. The temp tags are set to expire in three days and the title clerk hasn't sent out the packet? I then ask to speak to the manager and I spoke to someone even more clueless as he told me Webb has 30 days to send out the packet. The manager was in no way helpful and his answers were baseless to me. My planned trip has to be postponed to incompetent people at Webb. All I heard were excuses and no accountability. Sad we couldn't give the ride back because that's what I would have done. read more

I bought a used Scion from a car dealer other than Webb, and am very happy with the car but for one exception. It only came with one key... and I wanted a spare in case I locked myself out. Original Toyota (Scions are made by Toyota) keys start at $160... and then there's another $130 to program them. About $290.00 altogether. I found aftermarket keys on eBay for $17.97 a pair. The Webb Toyota service tech told me they would try to program them for $65.00, but only had a roughly 50% success rate at programming aftermarket keys. My choice: 1 key guaranteed to work key for $290.00, or a 50% chance they could make the 2 aftermarket keys work for $65.00. I gambled on the aftermarket keys. They said the programming would likely take about an hour. In fact, it took three hours, but they got the keys to work. And since they took so long to get them done, they comped me the work. No charge! I ended up paying $19.97 for two keys, that most dealerships would have tried to get nearly $600.00 for. It cost me a couple extra hours of wait time, but was well worth it. I mentioned it to my neighbor, and he said Webb Toyota is the only place he'll take his Tundra; that they have always been just superb every time he has gone-in. We both live about an hour's drive away, with another Toyota Dealership about 20 minutes away. Like him, I'll be taking my business with my Scion AND my Tundra to Webb. It's worth the drive. They are obviously actually trying to do what you hope a service department is going-to. read more

I'm sad I have to leave a whole star in the review. Webb doesn't deserve it. The only things this place excels at is being inept and dishonest, and then charging you the soul of your firstborn to fix their mistakes. I wish I had realized this sooner. Incident 1: During repairs to our car after a fender bender (my fault), they broke the touch screen in the car and tried to blame it on us and were going to charge us $2,000 to fix it! We finally got them to fix it on their dime because we were so adamant it was working when we took it in, and that it was absolutely something that happened because of something they did while it was in their care. Incident 2: They severely shorted the oil during a routine oil change, such that there was no oil on the dipstick at all. I didn't notice this until a couple weeks after the oil change. I topped it off with two quarts (which is half of the total capacity) and it remained full until it was time for the next change. Fortunately, it did not appear to damage our engine. Incident 3: This was the proverbial last straw. After taking the car in for another routine oil change, they called to say our drain plug was stripped out because we had done something to it. We had only ever had the car worked on and the oil changed at Webb Toyota. Furthermore, they wanted $300 to install a new oil pan, and they were going to keep our car for a week! Drain plugs do not strip after working fine unless you cross thread them, over-torque them, or screw it up intentionally. At best, they were inept or lazy. At worst, they broke it on purpose to make more money. In either case, they were dishonest and blame shifting. I informed them we were not going to pay that much, and that we had to have the car back that day because we were leaving for a trip the next morning and that was our only vehicle. They installed a self-tapping drain plug after overcharging us for it. Now, I am having to install a new lower oil pan because the hole was so fouled up that now that self-tapping plug is stripped and leaking as well. After pricing out the parts online, I found that the new pan, gasket, silicone, drain plug, and crush washers are going to cost me...$37.46. And that's with shipping included! I can't wait to never, ever support this business again in even the smallest way as long as I live. Stay away unless you value being extravagantly overcharged for really lousy work. read more

Called in from Denver to purchase a 2011 Tahoe. Internet department said they would accept my offer and would have the general manager James take my deposit. I then called her back after no follow up call 2 hours later. She stated to fill out the credit application and he would get back to me shortly. James the General Manager finally calls at 2pm and says do you have the price in writing? I said no the women Jenna in your internet department said we had a deal at 17k. He said well I'm not honoring anything she said and she didn't have the authority to give that price. Then he attempts to say he will sell it to me for the advertised price. They took my credit info and the general manager was rude so I called him a lier and he hung up on me. Then told Jenna call me back to change her story at 2:20?? General Manger James is not to be trusted and the dealer owners should really do some investigating on this and possibly other situations like this. read more

Not too pleased with the service department. I took our 2010 Lexus RX350 to them for an oil change. I have been using them for oil changes the past couple of years, so I was beginning to trust their integrity and I thought they were doing an acceptable job. During this oil change they failed. We dropped the car and proceeded to go about town for other errands. When they called, I expected to get the standard courtesy call that the car was finished. Not this time. I was told that the battery was dead and that they had to jump the car to start it. The problem I'm having is that the car had been starting just fine for the past 3 weeks of sub-freezing tempuratures. I asked what they had done to ruin the battery and received the standard answer that they tested the battery and it failed the test. Having not seen what they had done and being told that the car would not start, I was stuck with having to buy a new battery. Upon returning to pickup the car I voiced my displeasure with one of the service writers. I told him it looked suspicious that a car that was starting just fine, suddenly had a dead battery. He informed me that he was too busy to look into the matter even though he was sitting on his stool behind the counter doing nothing when I entered. I'm not finished. We paid and took the car home. A few hours later we went to the car to return to town and there was a small oil slick under the car. This had never happened before so I noted the spot hoping that it would be residual oil that had spilled during the oil change. After the next two trips in the car I noticed small oil slicks under the car. After finding the third oil slick I decided to have a look (it was Sunday) to find the source of the leak. I found oil dripping from the oil plug. When I checked to see if it was properly tightened, I discovered that it was loose. Finger tight to be exact. Now, I don't trust Webb Toyota. Their integrity is questionable and they certainly are not capable of doing quality work. It was a simple oil change and they botched it. Had I not searched for the oil leak and continued to drive the car, the chances of the drain plug falling out were quite high. It's highly unlikely they would have accepted responsibility and replaced the engine when it was destroyed from oil starvation. read more

When I'm in Farmington I always come here to get my Tundra serviced. They are always friendly, fast, and very efficient with the whole process. I've been to numerous other Toyota locations in New Mexico, and I can honestly say this particular shop is the best. I can't stand how other locations constantly push other services, to the point of where they just become annoying. You won't get that here. Of course they'll offer, but won't harass you to get a yes. read more

I went to this place to look for a part for my mother's Tacoma; mostly to get a price quote, and it was the only Toyota dealership near us. No one bothered to help, surprisingly. Perhaps it was because we were minorities? Fortunately we found the parts place, small as it is. There were only one salesperson in there busy with a customer and they took a long while. My mother, a baby boomer who likes to talk to people and get things done right away, wanted to leave since we had no help and everyone seemed busy for a Tuesday afternoon. And we left feeling a bit bummed out, but oh well. I would say we won't be going back to that particular place, but we have to if we want our oil changes. :\ There are better places and I don't recommend going to this one. read more

Jason Reynolds and the service team staff have the type of customer service one would only expect to experience at the MVD. They immediately acted like they were too busy to deal with me and talked to me with a demeaning tone and an underlying irritation. After arriving for my appointment, I was told it would be a hour before a tech could look at my car. I don't think they understand the concept of making an appointment. I talked to the manager and he insisted my customer service expectations were the problem. What?! If I can't go to Uncle Bob's Auto Repair because my vehicle needs to go to the dealer, I'll drive to Albuquerque before I take my vehicles to them again. read more

Went in to Webb Toyota with a cashier's check to buy a car. The car that was chosen was $1,700. less than the cashier's check. They told us they would issue a check for the amount owed to us. After numerous phone calls, none returned to our messages left, 3 trips down from Durango, after 2 weeks they finally did. Very unprofessional! read more
