I felt like they didn't want my business but my neighbors used them so I tried a few more times and finally got Jessie Cunningham and his side kick to show up for an inspection and provide me a proper quote. Here is the email I got from Jessie after he send me a quote: "Hello Trevor, I was just thinking about you and wanted to touch base with you to see if you or your wife had any questions and to see where you are in the decision making process for the roof project. I am here for you to be your project partner and want to do anything I can to make the project work for you. Let me know, Thank you" Pretty nice follow up. I was taking some time to talk to the wife about his $20k quote and thinking about it and replied with this: "$20k is way more than I thought this project would cost. I'm going to have to check around to see what others in my community paid and do some comparisons before I pull the trigger." To my surprise Jessie rudely responded: "No problem, that price is technically only good for 7 days anyway do to price increases. I understand wanting to check around for a cheap roofing company and I know we are not cheap so I am not offended if you can't afford us. I just wanted to stay in communication so I didn't leave you feeling like you weren't taken care of. I know you were persistent about getting a quote right away so I'm glad I could make that happen for you atleast. You should have no problem finding a cheap company cause there are many of them out there but please let me know if you need any assistance in the future." My response: "There are many things in life that I won't go cheap on and buying a new roof on my home is not one. I don't intent on going with a "cheap" company. Honestly I was going to use your company but after your insulting email I'm definitely not. Just because I have a budget in mind doesn't mean I'm too poor to afford your prices. And who the hell would want a "cheap" roofing company on a house in this neighborhood anyway? So sorry to waste your precious time coming out for a quote. I made the mistake and thought you were a honest and reputable company but clearly after your insulting email I was wrong. Do yourself a favor and take some courses in customer service. M n S has performed work at my house for several years, and I have found the owner Mike to be…read moreunprofessional, incompetent, argumentative, and totally lacking in accountability. Cocky would also be a perfect word. Whenever there were problems, such as when he ripped up my lawn AND my neighbor's lawn, plus my step stones and driveway with his snow plow multiple times, he acted as if it were no big deal and it took months to fix. He never did restore anything to its original condition. An M n S employee backed into my expensive aluminum fencing and again, he treated it nonchalantly and took five months to replace the damaged pieces. He was advised that the house was for sale and that time was of the essence because potential buyers would be touring the property, but he didn't care. Interesting that my sprinkler system coincidentally had about the same dollar amount as the damage in repairs that year. Both he and his drivers are careless with the property that they plow and I have watched his hourly lawn workers stand idle while watching their co-workers work; but Mike does nothing to correct the situation. While plowing last night, an M n S employee backed (slammed) into my friend's van even after he blew the horn while he was in a parking lot. The co-owner of the van, his wife, is both my employee and friend. After arriving at the scene of the accident, Mike said, "That's why we have flashing lights," and he is now blaming my friend for his employee's negligence...even though the M n S employee immediately accepted blame and admitted he didn't see him before Mike got on the scene. Mike has changed his employee's story. He has hung up on both me and the couple whose van he destroyed and refuses to provide the name of his insurance company. The wife depends on this van for work, the repairs are beyond its value and it is financially impossible for them to purchase a new vehicle. Before hanging up on me, Mike shouted that he didn't have time to deal with this...that he had clients to take care of. Click. His arrogance, business ignorance and lack of compassion are astounding. Ironically, it is my friend and employee who convinced me to keep M n S on the property every time I wanted to fire him after each incident. She is the one who had to deal with him because I refused, and she always wanted to give him another chance. I am both sadden and angered that she and her husband have been treated this way. If you use this company, be prepared to possibly have it cost you money for repairs to your property, medical expenses, and possibly litigation. The problem is that the owner has an attitude and doesn't care.

When the rep called me, he explained that they can't work with us because we have 8" gutters. Apparently, they do not have access to 8" gutters, and I was told they didn't have the equipment to install them anyway. They can only do 6" gutters. Maybe I am wrong, but I would have thought that would simply require a different size wrench if anything. Anyway, it very much seemed like they just did not want our business.

We purchased 2 ceiling fans from Hodgson, and they recommend Lamplighter for install. A crew of 4…read moreguys came, were very nice, and we stayed out of their way while they did the install. At the end of the install, they let us know that the wall switches don't work and they may have purchased incompatible ones. We thought that was weird but no big deal, and they said they would call us back to install correct switches. They left. We checked the fans, which seemed to be wobbling quite a bit. We called Hodgsons to ask if that was normal and they had us check the fan blades, which slid in and out. Hodgson told us that the blades must be loose based on that, and that it isnt normal. I called Lamplighter back that day (a Friday), and the receptionist said they would have a manager call me Monday. No call Monday or Tuesday, so I left a message again. No return call. We had Hodgsons come out and they said they had talked to Lamplighter, and Lamplighter never told them about the incorrect switches. He also said that they had told him that they didn't want to speak to me because we were rude during install...weird because I helped make sure they navigated the large ladder upstairs, asked if they needed anything, and told them I would be downstairs out of their way during install, but to get me if they needed me. Hodgsons found several issues: all fan blades were installed loose, causing the wobbling. One fan had all blades installed upside down. The pin in the downrod wasn't put in in either fan, and they were unsure how Lamplighter got the wrong wall switches. I called Lamplighter AGAIN and they still refused to call back, even after Hodgsons talked to them about all the install issues. No apology, no call back...nothing. Hodgsons was EXCELLENT to work woth and repaired all of the errors made by Lamplighter. I would not recommend Lamplighter for both shoddy work and terrible customer service.

I talked with the contractor by phone and he made an appointment for 6/4. Two other contractors changed there appointment to schedule for the 4 th and the 6th. On the 4th my installer for the whole hour dehumidifier arrived. No electrician. He said he didn't make an appointment! We asked for an invoice which he sent. He NEVER said we needed to sign and return! Everybody was stunned. He did nothing to rectify the situation! He was going to charge me $800. The electrician I got charged $500. I do not recommend this electrician. I'm apologize for being negative but I think people should know MY opinion and my experience.

After spending two days of the holiday weekend…read moredealing with water leaking into our bathroom and then having to shut our water off and not having water for a large portion of the weekend, we struggled finding a plumber who was available to come and help us fix our problem. We called six plumbers and left messages and Lakeshore was the only company who was kind enough to actually call us back. Even though Lakeshore did not have emergency or holiday hours, they still called to let us know that they would put us on the schedule for first thing Tuesday morning, which was very kind of them because the uncertainty of not knowing was just as painful as the water that was flowing down our walls. They also told us that we should probably just turn our water back on when we needed it because our wall was going to need to be cut open anyhow. Lakeshore, as promised appeared on Tuesday morning and diagnosed the problem (which was unfortunately not a plumbing issue). The young man was polite and professional and timely. He called before he arrived and explained exactly what the problem could be. He took photos of the damage and suggested if the leak starts again to call them back. Really there was nothing anyone could do, but he was very nice about the whole debacle. We need to have three water shut off valves repaired because we discovered they no longer turn properly when we tried to turn the water off at the main and we will be calling Lakeshore back to fix them. Plumbers are expensive and fast polite service makes hiring one so much less stressful.
