Very enjoyable courses given by knowledgeable tutors. The wine courses are particularly worthwhile.

South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre

SATAC is the intermediary body which processes applications for entrance into many of the tertiary…read moreinstitutions here in South Australia. If you want to go to University or Tafe in SA, it is likely you will need to apply through the Tertiary Admissions Centre's online processing, they then generate offers of places based on the number available. Most of the courses offered at The University of South Australia, University of Adelaide, Flinders University of South Australia, TAFE SA and Charles Darwin University require the applicant to submit through SATAC. If you don't possess the typical secondary qualifications for admission to a tertiary institution you may be required to sit a STAT (Special Tertiary Admissions Test) prior to making an application. SATAC conducts these tests to assess the relevant skills and knowledge of an applicant. The STAT results can then be used in place of a TER (tertiary entrance rank score) or equivalent.

Oooh, Tegan has all the official information! *tips hat*…read more My review is not so informational... I, like everyone else in SA, applied through SATAC to get into my uni course, and my own experience was pretty positive except for one major thing. Yes I have a gripe! While I found SATAC staff to be really lovely and professional and friendly, even in the midst of the busiest time ever, when every secondary student and adult student is applying for a course. They're friendly under pressure and helpful. Lines can get a but long in the lunch break time during admissions time, but otherwise the centre itself is quite central and a-ok. My gripe: the website. Like most government websites, it's a bit all over the shop. The info is probably there, but it's SUPER hard to find. There's no search button! Who doesn't have a search button? I was overseas when I was applying and needed to find info without being able to call in on the phone conveniently, and it was next to impossible, sadly. You definitely need someone in person/ over the phone to help you out here. Edit the website, add a SEARCH BUTTON, and you will be at least 1 star better, SATAC!

It has since emerged as South Australia's only youth arts establishment for the under 26 age group, providing many arts and recreation programs to help our youth gain experience whilst embracing multi culuralism in the community. This is all possible due to South Australian government initiatives. During the year there are many events, exhibitions and workshops taking place, so have a look online or go for a impromptu visit as staff are more than happy to answer any queries. During the school holidays is a great time to take your kids to any one of the great programs run by SA artists and tutors at reasonable prices, age groups are divided to cater to their capabilities. Have a look online and book as places are filled quickly.

Now it is a youth arts centre, and it was in that capacity that I arrived here - I was invited to teach a cross stitch workshop yesterday - 45 kids over the whole day in 3 separate workshops - PHEW!! The staff here really know what they are doing - they are organised, very good at handling kids and keeping them interested, and very good to work with. There are a lot of activities to keep your kids occupied, and to teach them very important artistic and lateral thinking skills. School holidays they have programs - yesterday I was part of the 3-in-1 Workshop day, where your kids get to do 3 different workshops from 9.00 to 5.00, in groups of 15. All tutors and assistants must have a current police check for working with children, and there are staff on hand all day to make sure everything is running smoothly. Kids are not allowed to wander around by themselves - it's a very tightly-run ship! We will definitely be taking my partner's daughter to the next one of these, as the staff are very trustworthy, and the workshops are of a high standard.
