The teachers are absolutely outstanding. They're caring and attentive and communicate freely with parents. Communication from administrators is also good but usually last-minute. We've enjoyed almost all the special programs they put on there, from Halloween to grandparent nights. We can't say enough good things about this AppleTree. It's so rare as a parent to know unequivocally that you've made the right decision but this has been one of them.

The baseball diamonds weren't the best ever but it worked for us. Their parking lot is pretty small but there is more parking available in the school parking lot to the east of the park with a driveway entrance off of Diamond Ave. They have a pretty nice basketball court here and 6 tennis courts which can double as pickleball courts and has a nice set of bleachers. They also have a splash pad and a playground + bathrooms which is a big plus for a park. Also a huge grassy area for lounging, picnicking, and dog walking.

I recently had a black bean burger wrap. It was loaded with fresh veggies and a nice meal in itself. My wife had a salad that was very fresh and included ham and turkey in ample proportions. What a rude and unprofessional place this is. A family member was going to this center for a…read moreschool ice skating field trip and we wanted to know if there would be a charge to use walkers in this arena because the skater who would be there is a tiny girl who doesn't have much experience on ice and we didn't want her hurt by bigger, faster and more experienced skaters. This was also a very reasonable concern because other places have charged an extra $10 for the rentals of these items! I called after 9:00 a.m. on a Wednesday which was during their business hours but could never get ANYBODY to answer the phone or even have the BASIC professional courtesy to return my voicemails! It was also so annoying that the voicemail didn't list departments like NORMAL voicemails do (Human Resources, front desk, etc) but gave employee names at different extensions. I have no clue who these people are or what their job capacity is so how would I know who to request? I left a voicemail with 3 of the staff and it is late in the afternoon the same day and not ONE of them had the decency or common courtesy to return my call. I would NEVER recommend this place that treats people so poorly and rudely.

The high ceiling and natural light made the space feel large and welcoming. I was a little alarmed by the large totem pole in the corner of the building as it had some faces that seemed a little scary to me, but I don't think any of the kids even noticed. They even have a little "scavenger hunt" sheet so you can try to find all the different animals and figures carved into this tall structure. There is plenty of parking, although we ended up in the lot closer to the silos, which was a short walk to the building. (According to their website, this lot is actually now closed until the beginning of June.) The silos were a cool feature of the park, and they actually have rock climbing walls on them! I saw some kids climbing and tried it out for myself - unfortunately I definitely wasn't wearing the proper footwear, but it's something unique and cool that I haven't really seen at many other parks. There is a small play area here for kids. I'd love to come back again later this spring to check out the trail down to the Grand River. There's a canoe landing at the park which is great for summer. The whole park covers 240 acres! I'm sure there's lots of great wildlife spotting, so I'm looking forward to doing some birdwatching here soon.
