Lots of chairs. Your therapist usually comes to get you at the exact time of your appointment. Scheduling online never works for me for some reason, I always text the "office" person. You can text to set up appointments which is kind of nice when you don't have a moment to call. Feels a bit sketchy though, lol. The rooms are comforting and clean. I have been coming here on and off for about 21/2 years now. I do recommend this office. However, many therapists aren't accepting new patients. It can be hard to schedule an appt since many of them are booked out as well. They have therapists for mental health and individual therapy. Online it seems as it's just a marriage counseling office, but in my experience they do more.

She didn't seem to care that it was her fault, and that she messed up and wasted my time. I wouldn't have been as upset if I didn't take the whole day off to be able to make this appointment just to be told that they messed up and booked me in the wrong slot. I believe deeply in the power of EMDR and DBT. My experience of Pathways was a business setup for…read morethe business owner. They did not accept insurance, were on the EXPENSIVE side, & required cancellation 48-hours prior to your appointment. The business frequently offered incentives to boost their ratings. My experience of EMDR was sitting with bilateral stimulation while Stephanie read a magazine or scrolled on her phone. Very little checking in, or guidance. Being my first experience and in comparison to more the traditional approaches I have since experienced with greater focus on the client and more frequently checking in, I found this method largely unhelpful. My experience of the DBT classes was Haley reading PowerPoint slides to a group that dwindled down to a few participants and still next to no engagement. Reading one part of our worksheet homework was our only engagement. I found a DBT bundle through Etsy to be a better investment. I also worked with Chloe and Allison. My experience of family counseling with Chloe was most frustrating when after hearing the little snippets shared in a short counseling session she shared her judgments of what was going on, applied surprisingly little DBT skills and did next to nothing to establish safe communication between me and my family member. I felt more like I hired a judge and jury than a counselor. Her judgments, whether supporting 'my side' or not, were not accurate or helpful and did little to help us communicate or regulate. A reasonable person would have an increased emotional response to the family counseling we received with Chloe. My preferred counselor to work with at Pathways was Allison by far. She has a caring demeanor and applied more skills than the others. Our time was cut short and damage was done before we began with her but she was the most helpful out of our experiences at Pathways. I was extremely fortunate to work with an amazing out-of-state coach who brought so much clarity to our situation and provided effective support in truly starting the ball rolling for gaining a greater understanding of DBT and bringing lasting change to our challenging family dynamic. I regret turning to Pathways for family counseling. Overall our time spent at Pathways made things worse. Furthermore, when I reached out between sessions, I never heard back. When I expressed my frustration over the lack of communication, I never heard back. Stephanie, nor any of the other counselors I worked with, have ever reached out after leaving several messages using the method I was directed to use by their office staff, but she can respond to reviews. I hope you find the quality support you deserve. For me, it was not at Pathways.

However, she rarely actually did anything other than ask about my week and how I feel. She never stuck to any new "tool" or "method" we would try. I would do everything she asked of me, from filling out busywork to doing walks to talking to people I didn't want to. I even voluntarily surrendered to my greatest fear of being locked up in a hospital. She gave me her number and told me not to call hotlines because they would leave me on hold. But she would ignore almost every call or text made until I stopped even trying. After a week or two of any approach she'd give up, only to months later accuse me of "never really trying" to improve. She would also complain about my negativity and low self esteem, only to tell me all my problems are my fault and if I only tried harder I would be fine. For context, much of my issues regarded depression, incurable medical issues, and the death of my father. But she consistently framed things as my fault. Despite all this, I stuck with her for three years because I appreciated her being candid and friendly. What most therapists wouldn't do for fear of being unprofessional, she was fine with. She'd call us friends, joke around with me, she'd even said if I didn't want to work on improvement I could just vent and talk to her once a week. But then, in the first few minutes of my last session, she told me she wouldn't work with me anymore. No prior discussion had been had, and very little explanation was offered. She sent a list of names I don't know and offered one single session to process. And when my car broke down, she refused to reschedule that session, and only assured me she'd done her due diligence. When I asked if I'd done something wrong, she told me I hadn't. She'd just snubbed me for no reason I guess. I can't imagine this is the best way to handle that situation for any therapist. But for one I've seen for three years and always spoke to me candidly, I was especially surprised at such a curt and cold snubbing. I can't speak for the other therapists here, but the one I've seen hasn't made a great example. The receptionist has always been very kind, though
