SO REPETITIVE!!! IM DONE. I really like the crew on WCCO news. They're friendly, personable & have great on-screen chemistry with each other. That being said, I'm done watching their show. The reports & stories are repeated over and over and over. Its ridiculous. Why??? I don't get it. I understand a couple times but seriously foljs, why do you run the same thing so many times? The worst morning show in the Twin Cities. I don't know if it's the producers fault or the someone else. I just finished watching AJ, Heather and Katie discuss for 3 minutes whether to have a corn dog or a pronto pup at the fair. You get very little news, too much weather, and feel good stories from Susan Elizabeth Littlefield that last 3-4 minutes. How about some news for those heading out to work. I am not a football fan. I want you to stay on schedule with your programs. I had to wash two football games after 6. 60 minutes is on at 6. A hour late. The first game ended at 6:30., You had to started a another game. Stop shoving football down my throat. read more

We have been very interested in Season 1 and now Season 2 of "God Friended Me." Since it has a second season, it's obvious it was popular. However, WCCO gives it no respect because the listed program time has been wrong frequently. The Season 2 premier was scheduled 9/29/19 for 7:30 pm, but instead of starting it on time, there's another program about sharks, seals, and Cape Cod. A simple note came on indicating it would start at 7:46. REALLY?? Come on WCCO!!! Don't be so erratic and disloyal to fans. I guess this is why our household doesn't watch this channel more often. Except for "God Friended Me," we won't be watching anything else on WCCO. read more

I am not sure I'm hearing Frank correctly, but is he slipping in the dog whistle "democrat" instead of "democratic" when he refers to the Democratic Party? I seem to have heard this several times now. In the interests of objectivity, it is commonly accepted journalistic practice to refer to the party as the Democratic Party instead of the term that the opposition invented as a derogatory term. Perhaps I heard incorrectly, and if so I apologize. If not, I urge the station managers and Frank to assume a more professional attitude with regard to this term. read more

I still think CCO is the best evening local news broadcast. However there are two glaring exemptions that nearly make me flip the channel. Mike Max and Lisa Meadows. Perhaps with Max it's due to Rosens big shoes, but rather I think his impediment like and slow delivery. And they call him Maxey. Lisa has a voice that if you listen to her in the background, you find yourself not comprehending due to her weird sing songy delivery and slurred tone. read more

I'm only a morning show watcher, so I cannot speak to the quality of the evening news. Compared to the other local options, WCCO is my favorite. The segue music isn't obnoxious, the anchors are calming and uncommonly sassy, and Mike the weather guy talks about the music they use when coming back from commercial. When WCCO played Faith No More's cover of Easy AND Mike the weather guy said it was Mike Patton's 42nd birthday, I said, "That's m-fkin' it -- I'm reviewing this m-fkin' morning show." WCCO is the closest the Twin Cities will get to sophisticated local news. Fox 9 has been using the same theme song that I hate for years and there isn't anything worse than a hangover welcomed by "WAKE UP WITH FOX 9!" Wake up with my fist, you terrible song! Kare 11 can barely walk under the weight of its own tears, so overburned with pathos and excessive gardening advice. KSTP is a mini RNC convention and has fairly rampant technical difficulties. WCCO is the best by being the least of all evils, but it's not even that evil. I'm not a morning person at all, but I've come to enjoy my sad little routine because of Angela, Mike, Mike, other guy and Holly. They're all painless faces and voices before caffeine, which says a lot. Plus, I like that they've stacked the house with talent from other stations. Oh, one more thing (*takes drag on cigar, puts hand in trenchcoat pocket*), why only four stars? YouTube videos. This is a pet peeve of mine because nobody likes the person always saying, 'Come look at this! Hur hur hur!' Like, yeah, if i want to see that, I know where to find the Internet, thanks. Even Bob Saget had the good grace to stop doing that. I whine, yet I can be made happy. Well done, WCCO. Edit: Kerry is the "other guy" I mentioned. They've changed his role from traffic guy to Perk at Play Lite. You can tell he thinks this is what he's good at, but he's too much of a ham for it to not be irritating. Segments like his, a la M.A. on Fox 9 and P@P, are why I hate local news. At least Eric Perkins seems like a real human being with some goddamn dignity. read more

Can't stand Heather Brown's adolescent "croak-talking", anymore. She sounds like a 12 yr old girl, always talking in her throat. And, Matt is always so cynical, negative & whiney about everything. His voice rising to high pitch whenever he goes into his antagonistic argument on almost every little thing. He should just do the news, only, and never on the desk, at all. so, a week or so ago, wcco news expounded on the importance of the positivity rate of covid testing. but when they show their daily covid graphics they don't include it. when they read the statistics they don't include it. it's important! include it in your reports and graphics! don't force me to watch one of the other 2 channels that DO include this very important number. read more

Television news really went downhill when it was decided they needed to "entertain" us in their reporting the news. Channel 4 is pretty much terrible with their pompous lead anchors, ridiculous weather watcher segment, and the nicknames ending in y that they call each other. Its unwatchable most times. Actually news across the board in the Twin Cities is unprofessional. I do like Liz on 4 though, and Jenny Poo on 9 ....Hot! read more

I grew up listening to WCCO radio. Their personalities were like family. Today it's just another blah corporate entity, not that any of the others are any better. Of course FOXNews is in a class by itself - at the bottom of the pile . read more

I have been watching WCCO news for many years but will no longer be watching. The quality of the news casters has been going down hill for a while but the recent addition of Lisa Meadows has made my final decision to change stations. I had hoped that she would learn and become more professional but her presentations only seem to be getting worse. read more

I can not watch Lisa Meadows on WCCO any more. She is not qualified. She says Stuff a lot and speaks in a sing-song tone. I have never complained before. I have switched stations and do not watch WCCO anymore. I am sorry. I watched it for 50 years. They need to trainer her or replace her. read more

Are news anchors in other cities the celebrities they are here? My husband can name all major anchors dating back to the 80s; not really sure if that is a skill or not. For some reason we watch WCCO to get our news, weather, and sports; honestly it is kind of a weird 'show.' First of all there is their "In the Box" concept they have been running for over a year. It's where random people literally get inside a plexiglass box and answer some question or give an opinion. Why the box? I have no idea. It is kind of odd. But that's not where the oddity ends. Take Don Shelby for example. He is the 'Walter Cronkite' of Minneapolis news and he wears his 'signature' custom-made three-piece suits (usually pin stripes) and looks like a banker. He has his own 30 second soap box called "In the Know" where good ole Don gets half a minute to give you his two cents on some relevant issue. Remember what it was like when your grandpa told you about the 'good ole days' and how 'young people are ruining this country'? Yeah, it feels like that. One finally point, the husband/wife team of Ameilia Santinello and Frank Vacillero (sp?) is nothing special to news teams but what is special is how the use the 10 o'clock news to do special segements about marriage and raising children. I mean, really? This is the 10 o'clock 'news', right? With all that said, I still watch WCCO religiously. read more

Let go of the Valley Girl tone, as you over emphasize certain consonants - listen to your tempo and word emphasis- please!
