Things were actually pretty good (relatively) with this company until they changed their name to GFI. They claim to be the same company, so I will put the review here. We employ them to maintain a couple of dumpsters at our condo complex. As soon as they became GFI, they began missing pickups. This morning this company parked a full sized roll-off dumpster completely blocking our driveway for over an hour while they were doing tree service. When my wife needed to get out of our driveway for work she asked one of the crew who snarked at her with an unapologetic condescending tone. These guys are horrible. On multiple occasions leave the trash cans open while raining. Latest is they dropped a bag of glass bottles out of the recycling container and broke on the street... Leaving me to clean the glass shards before neighbors got flat tires. Don't try to communicate with the workers if you speak English. I will attempt to fire them at next HOA meeting assuming we have options. read more

Lots of irregular collection visits; often times 1 to 2 no shows in a 3 day pick up week of apartment bin, causing tenant complaints and unsanitary overflow conditions. Telephone Customer Service is torturous if not futile. Demanding credit on your bills only makes them defensive and seemingly retaliatory with worsened service. The waste business has its issues, we get that; heavy equipment capital requirements, inventory logistics, personnel management, landfill costs, traffic, mechanical failures, IT support challenges, investment banking abandonment, and generally negative public perceptions. WOW. Paid for service for several years, and then they suddenly quit picking up, even through I was prepaid for three months. Driver picked up everyone else's garbage in my small neighborhood, but mine. Totally drove right past my house. Picked up to the left of me, drove right past my trash can (singular!), and picked up the next neighbor's trash. I was not rude when I called asking for a pickup twice, I was promised pickup twice, still a no show. I talked to the driver, promised they were coming back after they dropped off the current load. They came back, as promised. Picked up every house's garbage... but mine. So I call to cancel and they want to refund me for only the 2 remaining months, not the 2-3 weeks they totally drove right past my house. Um... NO. Felt I had no choice but to switch to a company (Residential Recycling & Refuge of Texas, a family-owned company, hoping for better luck) that charges more and has one less pickup day per month. Horrible, Horrible The multiple times I have called to speak with a customer service agent I have been unable to speak with an actual person. They require you to leave a voicemail and maybe you will receive a call back. The website is not user friendly and often does not always allow you to access your bill. My pickup day is Monday and more often than not I have either not had any pickup service or pickup the following day on Tuesday, not Monday. Anytime you ask why the trash was not picked up on pickup date there is always a different excuse. There is no email or text notification of upcoming bills, which are easy to forget about since they are paid in advance for 3 months of service. If I could give this company negative stars I would! The billing department is not on top of their stuff and switching to this company was a nightmare. The most recent issues with them is they have not sent us our stickers each month. The guys that pick up the trash took the expired stickers off our can and quit picking up our trash even though our bill is up to date. I hate this company! Worst trash company ever! They have gone to a program that requires you to get stickers and replace every three months on your trash cans. They did this to Texas during the huge freeze and then didn't send our stickers. All my pipes have busted and we have no water and to add insult to WCA now takes my money and refuses to pick up My trash. I have had them for FIVE years and they see the conditions we are living in and during a pandemic and disaster and even though I called and begged Them to pick up my trash as I didn't get stickers and they refuse. I encourage those of you who have a choice when it comes to your trash collector to NOT give WCA a single thought, a moment of your time, or a cent of your money. We've been customers of WCA for several years, satisfied at first. However, over the last two years we've experienced a decline in service indirectly correlated with an increase in prices so appalling that today I have canceled my account. I'm not sure what WCA stands for, but I would suggest to you that it stands for Won't Collect Anything. My frustration with the company began about two years ago when every quarterly bill I received included a price increase. The relationship became untenable, though, over the last four weeks. Our trash was skipped one week, despite the truck coming through the neighborhood. I was told a truck would be back by to collect my bins; no truck came. Then, our recycling was not collected another week. I was told, first, that I didn't pay for recycling services. After providing a copy of my latest paid invoice, I was told a recycling truck would be back by to collect. No truck came. After following up, I was told that, in fact, no, they would not be sending a truck back out. What? Collection day this week, I wrote a reminder to customer service in the morning that they had missed our recycling last week, that there was much to collect, that they needed to make sure a truck came through today. No truck came. After each incident, I request an account credit. This request is always ignored. WCA is a company that will continue to take your money, more and more and more of it, but has no conscience about providing the services for which you are paying. I encourage you not to risk business with them. If you currently have them and have been experiencing frustrating issues, or begin to, please don't let it go on too long. They do not deserve a cent more from you as they don't understand you are paying for services actually rendered, not fictionalized or promised. Unacceptable Service!! Our Houston neighborhood has a contract with WCA Waste Management for twice a week "back door" garbage collection services. Unfortunately WCA consistently falls short of meeting expectations. On a regular basis our neighbors experience cans left on the curb or outright failure to collect trash. Our HOA Board has tried to address the situation directly with the company, but with little success. Fortunately our contract with WCA is coming to an end. When I leave my cans out for pickup, I place them to the side of my driveway. If they don't toss the cans on the grass ( which kills my grass in the summertime), it's right in the middle of my driveway, forcing me to have to get out of my car in the pouring rain to move the trash can, just to get to my house. You call to complain about the lack of common sense, and you get nothing. On a billing note... I have Hispanic neighbors who cart their trash across the street to another family member's house for pickup. I've called to complain a number of times over the years, even speaking to supervisors, and nothing has been done. They still aren't required to pay for their own service. I think I'll just start carting my trash to my other neighbors and divide the cost. Why should I pay for service when WCA obviously doesn't need the money!! read more

Worst customer service I have ever had trash or other wise. Again our street had no trash pickup on Tuesday 10-08-2019-Told by WCA have to give them Wednesday to pick it up before credit can be issued. Called Wednesday approx. 4pm and was told had to given them to 7PM-Trash was not picked up on Wednesday, and to call back Thursday to get a credit. Call Thursday morning was told that no one at WCA notified WCA dispatch about needing to pick the trash up therefore no credit could be issued. I guess I missed notification where WCA became part of the IRS as when their representative fails to do her job it is my FAULT. read more

Our neighborhood pays for the trash removal or I would no longer be a customer. I have video from my nest camera of them getting out of the truck, removing bags from the can, laying the bags on the ground and then emptying the can. It did have bags a little over the lip of the can because we had missed the last week's pick up, but it was not insanely overflowing. I called to ask about it and apparently if the lid doesn't fully close they won't take the trash. read more

It's not by accident they have terrible reviews. They miss pickups regularly, customer service is terrible, and they keep suspending the account even though the bill is paid. When you call in, you run in circles with no explanation whatsoever. You can't even get a supervisor on the phone. Worst garbage company ever. I would give them zero stars if that was possible. I have a small dumpster at my house on a 2-year contract. It took numerous phone calls and about 6 months to FINALLY get the driver to come out here to empty the dumpster once a week, which is what I am paying for. The driver was marking it down as being done but wasn't actually coming out here. Next, they went up on the monthly rate but didn't bother to notify me. My bill just jumped up about $15 a month. Now, they have double billed me and are moving my payment due date up 2 weeks, which means I have to pay 1 full month then pay a 2nd full month just 2 weeks later. I'm currently waiting for the account manager to call me back to explain this BS. I absolutely will NOT be renewing my contract with them. read more

If I could put 0 starts i would. They have the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! My first experience was when we moved into the area. I set up all my accounts and I had no issues until they didnt pick up our trash. I called and they said they didn't have any of my information, because this address had a past due balance with the previous owners. I have nothing to do with the previous owners. They wanted me to pay their balance! WHAT?! Then the last time I set up auto pay, they didn't take my trash so i called. When I called she said is this your phone number.... NOT even close. I want to change from monthly payment to quarterly payment, using the postal service to deliver stickers that must be present and visible for the customer's trash to be picked up. This company has gotten much worse recently. As others have stated, rural service was not done at all Christmas week or new years week. On top of that, my container was missing so I called for a new one on December 13. Here I am today on Jan 9 still with no container after 3 phone calls to WCA. I would rate WCA zero stars if allowed. Three times this year they have missed our Tuesday pick up. They cost this association extra money each time they miss pick up days. And, they use unacceptable excuses. "Our truck broke down, your contract was accidentally cancelled, or we'll put it on schedule for the next day not sure what happened". Incidentally they raised our service cost from $1,160.00 to $1,262.62 this month and we have worse service ever!!! We have four eight yard dumpsters with pick up 2 times a week. read more

UPDATE: 11/29/2018 So I have blocked with cones the end of my driveway to keep WCA Drivers from destroying the end of my driveway. Well today they turned around in my front yard leaving deep ruts in the grass. These people do not care about you, your property or anything other than your money. I have asked for the third time for a supervisor to call me and again no one calls - because they do not care. Gert anyone except WCA for your trash pickup/ If I could give a zero I would. I have been submitting a claim about how their trash trucks are destroying my driveway for some time now. In fact I quit using them a month ago because they refused to do anything. Their trucks will drive across your yard and off the sides of your driveway. They have no regard for your property. I have asked and asked them to stop. They keep saying they will submit a claim and someone will call me - no one does. They DO NOT care about customer service at all. Also I switched because they keep going up on their trash service - 1x week is not over $ 120 for 3 months - no recycle, just trash pickup once a week. I switched to Residential Recycling & Refuse of Texas which for the exact same service is only $96 (including taxes) for the same 3 months. They also, claimed liability for the destruction to my property and told me they would fix it. They never fixed my driveway so they cannot be trusted on anything they say. ALso I live 1/10th of mile from the last person they pick up for, there is NO reason for them to even come that much further down the road - much less use my driveway to turn around in. This company is awesome!!! My last provider who I wont mention was charging me so much to pick up my 8yd can twice a week. WCA was able to reduce my bill by 40% which made a major difference on my bottom line! Highly recommended!!! read more
