I *could* have required them to pay for April but because of our history, I let it slide. But I did ask that they pay the March invoice. I never heard back after multiple requests. Very very disappointing to say the least.

They are fun and generally pretty low key. Unfortunately, if you don't come armed with your own music, the radio in many of these places seems to drift towards "Freebird" and "We Built This City on Rock 'n'Roll". Ugh! I don't mind a yearly dose of Freebird, but that's kind of the end of it for me. Enter WEHM. (http://www.wehm.com/) They call themselves "progressive" which might be a bit optimistic, but they throw in some Cure, X, Lou Reed, Patti Smith, etc. in with their Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel, Bonnie Raitt, etc. It's definitely a rock station, but a smart one. You won't have to get your plaid shirt and duct taped shorts out any more than your black frock and pancake makeup to listen. They also play just enough new stuff to keep it interesting. One of the things that I always LOVE about these little stations, and by no means is this phenomenon isolated just to small beach towns, is the locally produced commercials. "Hi, I'm Jim, the Car Doctor." "Hi, I'm Rod, the Car Nurse" (Together) "We wanna FIX YOUR CAR" Or whatever. They're always good for a little giggle. WEHM is no exception. They have the surfer dude from the local surf shop giving updates on the tide, etc. Funny stuff. So what, I'm easily amused. If you're on 27E looking for a radio station, you could do a lot worse than this.

Their online calendar and event listings are great, too. At major local events they go "on the road" and broadcast live. The Talk Show each weekday morning focuses on local issues and is valuable forum for listeners and local elected officials. The bulk of the day they play light contemporary music but there are stretches on the weekend with music from the past. I really can't say enough about this station.
