Do to the high demand for contract work amid at the pandemic. I came across Tabi Home Repair & Remodeling on Yelp. They reached out to me asked me how can they help. I told them I have frameless shower doors that needed to be installed in two of my bathrooms. They replied did you already ordered the doors? I said I have all the materials just looking for it to be installed. They replied back with a cost of $650.00 for both of the doors. I also sent them a link with an instructional video from the company from which I got the doors from. I said could you look at this and let me know if this is something you could do. Wanted to make sure there was no misunderstanding. They replied back with it would be $400.00 for each door to be installed. I replied with when can you do the install? I paid Half of the installation which was $400.00 other was due upon completion. On the day of the installation they showed up unprepared it's a two person job they had one person. The person was unaware of the type of door he was to be installing. The owner reached out to be and told me that it was a heavier job and that the price will now be $750.00 for each door. I said I'll just take my deposit back. Now I sent them a video with the instructions and in the video they clearly stated that it requires two people to do this job. I don't know how clearer it could've been. I ended up calling my credit company and reporting and they got it back for. But I said that to said be careful with this company as they may try to take on jobs that they don't fully comprehend. Also try and keep your money and make it your fault.

My husband had an initial meeting with Ronald, who was very knowledgeable, for a quote. We received an official quote from Jennifer, a few days later. We were able to review and request modifications to the project online and we appreciated the transparency and clarity throughout the process. We requested quotes from two other contractors and Jenix was the most responsive, thorough, and was available to start the project way earlier than anyone else we spoke with. Jenix worked in our house for over a month and the crew was always respectful of our space, prompt, polite, and tidy with cleaning up at the end of each day. Even better, it was super convenient that they hauled away demo debris so we didn't have to figure out how to dispose of it. The team was patient with our questions and proactive in asking our opinion on key design decisions. When we weren't sure about a decision, they were always willing to provide guidance based on what they thought was best. Ronald and Jennifer were responsive and flexible when we requested changes that resulted in rework to ensure we ended up with a final result that we were happy with. Thanks to Jennifer, Ronald, Nelson, and the rest of the Jenix crew for a job well done!

AZ Home Improvement [AZHI]. (3 stars)…read more UPDATE: Varinia did reach out to me after I posted this review and again, very friendly and dog lover owner that I have no personal issues with. In all fairness, I did NOT reach out to Varinia to ask for compensation or request re-work because I do NOT want to pay for re-work which I personally would feel obligated to do if someone did work for me. I am NOT saying the company would ask me to pay but I would feel bad. Also, any re-work that would need to resolve this issue would really be to tear out most of the nails, screws, etc and start over. I cannot go without a fence at this point. So for me, there is no "mutual" resolution. I would never ask for a refund or discount since I do feel the company did work hard! I just expected first time quality with better materials. I do believe this company is a hard working and passionate family business that strives to do their best. I just stand by my statements below regarding my fence. See original review below... BLUF: Very friendly service and accommodating to other requests but for quality of workmanship... that was far from professional. Let me be fully honest in saying I did ask for other items besides building a fence for my dogs and I didn't really have a lot of expectations but the workmanship on my fence was very disappointing. I gained or should I say regained full custody of my fur babies after the ex and I went our separate ways. I wasn't planning on finding a place that allowed dogs but in the end, the ex and I both know that the dogs are much better off with me. I searched for contractors as I really need to get a fenced in area for my dogs asap. It honestly pains me to give 3 stars but after talking with my ex about the quality of workmanship and the fact that he paid $4k to fence in his entire yard using 100 ft of material and I paid $2.2k for 33 ft to fence in a very small patio, I probably should've gone with the company he used. His fence is beautiful with great material used and no holes or nails sticking out or huge gaps between the wood slats!! Varinia told me that her and her family started this company in 2019 during COVID. I'm all for supporting small businesses. I definitely shop at big name stores but try to use local businesses when I can. Full disclosure. I was desperate and AZHI was the first company that could build a fence for me in such a short amount of time. I told Varinia that while I didn't want a gold plated fence, I would accept the estimate and didn't give them much of my expectations. In hindsight, I should've asked for my fence to be much higher because all my neighbors can see into my patio which is very awkward. But I don't blame AZHI. My fault and I only noticed it after it was built. I did ask AZHI to do a few other odd jobs for me which they did and I didn't have any issues with those but the fence... yeah very disappointing. I posted my photos to show what I'm talking about. The lock on one gate still doesn't work properly. Varinia also stated that and said she would change it out since it seemed defective. However, that never happened and now I'm going to go with a different company to do that change out and one other job. Some of the slats are so far apart that people can see into my patio. The wood rot holes are BIG. People just peer in to see if I'm home. Very awkward and scary. Nails and screws protruding out and smashed down. Very unprofessional looking. Sorry. It is!! Please understand that this is my experience and I'm sure that AZHI does a great job on other home improvement areas but my personal opinion is that fencing isn't exactly their expertise. I do truly appreciate their ability to complete the job quickly albeit longer than first estimated. But again, that isn't my issue. Perhaps others experiences will be far better than mine I hope! I do wish AZHI well.

I hired this company to redo a shower stall. Because they were already going to be doing concrete…read morework in the shower stall, I pointed out two, small, hand-sized areas of concrete that needed patching on my balcony. The owner Chris, said he would not charge me because it was negligible. I was happy that they were a good faith company who wouldn't nickel and dime me. Boy, I turned out to be wrong on that! Their work in the shower was just alright. It required a second pass to fix some lines that were not quite straight and they offered to fix it. The shower was substantially less work than initially scoped. The estimate was for a much larger job than needed to be done to fix the shower. I expected to get a discount on the initial estimate. Chris discounted me $200. I agree to pay him the full estimate minus $200 for services not rendered in the initial estimate. After the job is complete, Chris suddenly springs me with an additional charge of $100. He wants to charge me for the balcony patches, which were two child's hand-sized areas. This was quite irritating because not only did they not have to do as much of a job on the shower as they initially thought, but he was going to flip-flop on his initial word that he wouldn't charge me for patching the balcony concrete. He began harassing me via e-mail, using adjectives like "ridiculous" and questioning my character. This was extremely unprofessional and uncalled for. Within a couple of emails he began threatening to take out a lien on my property. That sounded odd to me, like he was bullying and on an anger trip rather than negotiating like a regular contractor. A lien on my property for a dispute over $100? Sounded unreasonable. I would have gladly paid the $100 if he had been honest with the charge up-front, or if he had sent me a change order in writing saying that the balcony patching would take more effort and he wanted to charge for the balcony. It was neither. The patches were tiny and he did much less work in the shower than he initially expected to have to do. It seemed like he was extorting me for additional money after the work was complete because he felt he could get away with threatening me, or because he didn't really like the fact that he had to do a second pass on the shower floor to get it right. I began talking to my condo building manager about this contractor. I learned that he fired one of his workers who was known for doing outstanding work on bathrooms, then threatened him physically if he ever worked on remodeling any of our building units. In short, this guy is trouble. Like the other reviewer also noted, he changes price quotes in the middle of a job or after the job is done, and gets nasty and short-tempered. There are a ton of contractors out there, save yourself a headache.
