His communication is unparalleled. I had a question or sent email, BOOM response. Have a request? Boom, response. Have revision or question about his contract? BOOM, response. 2. He is punctual. We asked Dave to also photograph our rehearsal dinner and he was all over! He even sent us a few "sneak" peeks the night of the dinner. 3. Dave is creative! Given our wedding was in the early evening in November, it gets dark early. He suggested a first look to get better lighting. We are definitely glad we listened! During our wedding he was essentially a gymnast, getting the best angle and had a second photographer to assist with EVERY SHOT! 4. QUICK turnaround! I hope I'm not setting an unreasonable precedent, but we had our photos from our wedding back within 12 days of our wedding! Yes, TWELVE DAYS! He took and sent over 500 photos! 5. Affordable. We hired Melanie for our April wedding. We made an absolutely great decision there…read more We first met Melanie to do our engagement photos at the Blanton, those obviously turned out stunning, as she was able to get both of us to open up a little bit and get some good shots of us. Highly recommend doing an engagement session first, the chance to work with her twice was so awesome! Emails with her were always responded to in a very timely manner, and she was very helpful with any questions I had, so great to work with. She and her assistant James showed up and were ready to go on time, kept our day running smoothly through all the photos we wanted taken and they got so many shots of things that I didn't even think of! Finishing off the night with a gorgeous nighttime shot! Their personalities shone throughout the day, everyone was talking about how amazing and fun our photographers were.This was the first time that Melanie had worked with James, but you could not tell in the least, the two worked so well together and then the way they worked with the guests...I can't compliment them enough! As for the final product, it was beyond compare. Somehow she made it seem like when I scroll through the pictures of the day that I am just walking through memories of that day. Most of the photography booths were hard to tell apart, and it seemed like theirs was the only one with a definite /style/. I didn't interact with "he" much, but "she" was awesome. Melanie and a helper photographed our wedding. They were friendly, relaxed, and totally flexible - there was no rigid list of shots to get, and they did some fun stuff working with the location. If you hire them, your wedding photos will look like a dream sequence in a slick modern magazine. DW was the photographer for our small wedding several months ago and we are very pleased with his…read morework. He was very helpful and reached out to me before the wedding to get a feel for my vision for the photos. I wish I would have researched shots that I wanted more in advance to the wedding to ensure all of the ones I wanted were taken, in the moment it is easy to become overwhelmed and forget. There was maybe only 2 or 3 poses I would have included and we had over 600 to pick from so we have plenty of choices. DW was kind and fun during the wedding. His use of light in the photos were genius and turned out beautiful in the photos. I ordered several photo books from DW and they were wonderful. He even included hand written holiday cards for the people I was gifting them to. That was such a thoughtful and special detail! I definitely recommend using DW for a wedding photographer. We truly cherish all of the lovely photos and the memories from that day. In hindsight, I would have added more time because 2 hours were not enough to include pictures of the dances and some other important moments of us and our guests.
