His communication is unparalleled. I had a question or sent email, BOOM response. Have a request? Boom, response. Have revision or question about his contract? BOOM, response. 2. He is punctual. We asked Dave to also photograph our rehearsal dinner and he was all over! He even sent us a few "sneak" peeks the night of the dinner. 3. Dave is creative! Given our wedding was in the early evening in November, it gets dark early. He suggested a first look to get better lighting. We are definitely glad we listened! During our wedding he was essentially a gymnast, getting the best angle and had a second photographer to assist with EVERY SHOT! 4. QUICK turnaround! I hope I'm not setting an unreasonable precedent, but we had our photos from our wedding back within 12 days of our wedding! Yes, TWELVE DAYS! He took and sent over 500 photos! 5. Affordable. When selecting a wedding photographer, I really had two requirements: 1. Someone who takes unique and interesting photos, and 2.) Someone that I felt at ease around. We interviewed two photographers before meeting with Dave. The first two were nice and had a good portfolio of pictures, but nothing that blew me away. I was a little discouraged thinking I'd simply have to settle. A friend of my husband recommended that we speak with Dave as he had heard good things. We instantly hit it off with him and we were blown away by his work. Needless to say, we booked him right then and there. Dave did our engagement photos in June. He was extremely flexible on time and locations. I have been told by many of my friends that their photographers only allowed them to shoot in two places -- anything else would be an up-charge. When I proposed a Saturday session at a winery outside of town, I was worried about the response I'd get. What do you know? Dave was completely game for it! We took the most beautiful sunset photos at William Chris Winery and a small park outside Johnson City. I had all of the photos in hand a week later, and they were spectacular. Our wedding was four months later. I'm not gonna lie, we missed our friend Dave during that time. We felt like we should schedule another session with him -- perhaps of our dog. Ha! we booked dave for both our engagement and wedding photos, and we couldn't have been happier with the results. dave is laid back, yet professional, and always in the right place at the right time. dave is super-stealth. our wedding ceremony was probably all of 10 minutes long, but dave managed to capture every moment with ease. maybe i was a bit distracted (i was the bride, afterall), but i don't remember seeing dave at all during the ceremony. yet he got all these great shots as though he was right in front of my face. super powers? maybe. or maybe he's just that good... he took a good deal of candid shots, which were my favorites, since neither my husband or i are great at "posed" photos. he staked out some great places for us to take pictures post-ceremony, and managed to keep both of our families under control for group shots. brilliant! read more

We booked Dave to be the photographer for our wedding at One World Theatre in Austin, TX and he did a great job through and through. From our first meeting all the way to producing the final images, Dave's passion for photography shined through the quality of his work. Dave was very personable and fun to work with. When looking for a wedding photographer, we were looking for someone who knows how to capture the feelings and special candid moments of our day. Dave exceeded our expectations in every way. So easy! Dave did an amazing job photographing both our rehearsal dinner at Green Pastures and our wedding at Umlauf Sculpture Garden. He was incredibly easy to work with and knew all of the right poses/pictures that would be truly meaningful to us and our family/friends. I offered little to no guidance (which could have been really dangerous!) but Dave made us feel very comfortable and guided us through it all perfectly. We received our pics so fast. I have always heard it takes weeks or months to get wedding pics; we had ours the day we got back from our 'get away' after the wedding. Amazing!!
