Just had a full (24000 mile) service done on my 09 reg Clio diesel,£129 inc VAT using genuine renault parts to keep the warranty valid,Other quotes from local garages in Warrington ranged from £140 PLUS VAT up to £180 Plus VAT. Excellent staff who go the extra mile,They even rang Renault to tell them I was going to be in touch with them regarding some warranty work that needed doing,Pointed out some advisories re low tyre tread and washed my car on top of that! When I got home my 21 yr old son told me he'd forgotten about the MOT on his car,I told him to call WCand they told him to bring it in Sat am to see if they could help! Absolutely outstanding and I would highly recommend to anyone. Cheers, Paul B. read more

Not the cheapest place for a service or MOT but certainly dead reliable. I know they're a chain of garages but they do definitely give great service as though they're a family firm. They even attempted to give my husbands van a complementary valet but he's a plasterer so I'm sure you can imagine what a job that was, but the thought was there anyway! They really pulled the stops out to get my mot done and passed on time and I really appreciated it. I've used them personally and my husbands used them for work and we've both said the same, we'd use them again. Not the cheapest as I said but there's a value in them being reliable and we found them to be so. read more

up to a couple of weeks ago as a family we had our cars repaired and serviced by Wayne Connolly but will not use them anymore. My son's car (Vauxhall Astra diesel) developed oil pump and soon to find out turbo charger problems. they collected on a Tuesday morning and did not really start work on it that day that wasn't a problem. The following day was told yes the oil pump needed changing and they would replace and I said might as well do service and MOT at the same time. At this time thought turbo was ok. This is where the communication etc problems started. Refitted the oil pump but started car and the turbo was not as good as thought. Told them to find replacement and was told it would be a day or 2 before part arrives. When it did arrive wrong part ordered and was told could not source replacement so I asked what the part number was and I found it myself fairly quickly and passed info back to garage. By this time it was Friday and it would not be ready until Monday. Following week part was sent and found to be worse than original turbo. My son had to keep ringing them for update and it was getting to the stage where the same answer came back "only just got part and will fit tomorrow". This went on nearly the whole week and eventually my son said it was getting inconvenient that not having a car for 10 days and reply from Wayne Connolly was " your car is also an inconvenience as it was taking up space" which I find is a very unprofessional remark to make. We did eventually get the car back the following Monday (2 weeks nearly). read more

We have been with Wayne Connolly's for ten years but will no longer go back there. Staff has changed, so has the workmanship. It took two days for them to contact me to tell me my car had failed the MOT. Their first words to me on the phone were "are you planning on keeping your car because it's going to cost a lot to put right." They gave me two pages of failures ,told me it would take three days at least in the garage to do the repairs and along with a bill of £1650 to get my car through it's MOT . None of the failures were on my last years advisory notes. I decided to take my car else where for a second opinion and put it it for another MOT. The result? Just five hours later and between two garages, the total bill £300 ( which included another MOT of £35.) I highly recommend Runcorn Old Town Motors and ATS Runcorn. Both of whom will treat you with professionalism and respect even though you do not have a clue about cars (especially if you are a woman like myself!). Both our children have grown up and taken their cars to Wayne Connolly's but not anymore. read more

Used Connollys now for a few years after my brothers recomendation (must be good cause he's tight, lol) Had a Jag at the time and it went in for a service etc which was done before time and at a great price, asked Chris to check a few bits aswell and he rang me with a full detailed breakdown of what needed doing and what it would cost and when it would need sorting. Went back again few weeks later because I couldn't get my back door open, Chris said they might inevitably damage the panel trying to get in to it, to open and replace the lock mechanism, hands up to them, not a mark on the door or panel when I went to collect it. Chris as also helped me over the phone with advice when I couldn't get my car to them when the suspension spring snapped and car was undriveable. A truly great friendly garage and even if some say they're not the cheapest, well as always, you get what you pay for and i'd prefer to pay that little bit extra for a proper job. Cheers Guys. read more
