One of my favorite waxing salons! My last appointment was with Ashely M. She was friendly and super easy going, which always makes it more comfortable during an appointment. The appointment also went pretty quick which is important for me since I have to leave my little ones at home with care. As always, the facility was clean, bright, and easy to navigate. The music playlist was also great which put me in a good mood and got me singing along to all the songs. I would recommend this place to anyone. Ooh! The day before my appointment someone from WAXmd called and told me my appointment was cancelled because the girl wgo was going to do my wax woke up sick that norning. I was also told that when someone else had room they would schedule me for my waxing. I never heard from them. Made an appointment for my preteen to get her eyebrows shaped. I am a stay at home mom with 2 other kids. When we arrived I was told that my 8 and 6 year old would have to sit in the car. Then they respond to my Google review and use Covid as a reason as to why they expect me to leave my children unattended. I am always skeptical when I have to change who waxes me but I had a great experience with Ashley Stansfield. She made me feel comfortable although I have been getting waxed for some years I was used to the intrusiveness. What just happened is unacceptable. I had an appointment today for the first time to do a brow shape. I called the receptionist to let her know I was stuck in a traffic due to car accident. I literally arrived 5 min later of my appointment and she told me they cannot see me because of 5 minute delay. I'm new in town and never in my life have I had this experience before. I respect the other people's time because I work the same way, but there is ways to do it. Like offering me some other time later in the evening, etc. I'm a very good costumer with all my beaty care, but wasting my time and not talking to me face to face to settle the situation is unacceptable. Horrible customer service and tack, acting cold and indifferent to the situation. It's their loss. read more

So I recently went in the other morning for my first eyebrow wax with WAXmd and man I wish I would've known that the new client special advertised on their website was still good bc I would've definitely taken advantage of that, lol! I originally booked a 9am appt for dermaplaning. I wanted to make sure it was included in the new client special before going to my appt but when I called the girl who picked up told me that it wasn't included and that the special was just 50% off so I asked her to change my appt to an eyebrow wax instead. Well at the end of my appt I was expecting to pay an amount for my wax but was told since I was a new client the service was taken care of since it was my first time! Say what?!? Lol wish I would've known bc then I would've tried an eyebrow wax+tint if dermaplaning wasn't included instead of just an eyebrow wax. But oh well maybe the girl who spoke with me didn't understand me correctly but mind you, I did ask "if the new client special advertised on the website included dermaplaning." I was under the impression that the special was just 50% off for new clients not a free service and that dermaplaning wasn't included. I just thought their website wasn't up to date. Anyhoo, as far as my eyebrow wax goes, I had an appt with Ashley. She was pretty nice I'd say and worked super quick! I'm so used to people taking a little bit more time working on my brows with trimming them or plucking them as well as waxing them but I don't recall Ashley having to do so. I think she just waxed them! Lol which is fine bc I don't have any complaints with my brows. Although I'm not very picky either when it comes to how my brows are as long as they're both even. Lol I am not the best at brows when it comes to how they should be shaped or filled/drawn in so I usually leave it in the persons' hand to do what they feel is best. I just like to specify that I don't like my brows too thin but they can shape or do what they think is best for my brows. Sometimes that's a good thing sometimes it's not depending on who I go to and how good at doing eyebrows they are. Being new to the area, I am still on a hunt for a regular eyebrow place! So far WAXmd has been good so I will continue to go to them. I decided to give them a try bc of the reviews I read and also bc of the new client special advertised on their website. Also on their website, I noticed that microblading was an option here which is something that I'm very much interested in. I hate struggling with my brows so if I can invest in getting laser hair removal for my armpits I don't see why I can't invest in microblading! Lol I'm just wanting to go to a good person who is experienced and does a good job. So I plan to have a few more wax sessions with WAXmd and if I'm still pleased with how my brows look after I'll prob get microblading done here seeing they seem to be one of the highly ranked eyebrow places here in the Hickory area. I'll probably do a little compare/contract with some places in Charlotte though seeing that my bf and I go to Charlotte quite often on the weekends just to get an idea of the usual price range and what not for the service. ‍ I'm also interested in dermaplaning too so that may be a potential future service but for now I'll prob stick to my eyebrow waxes and focusing on getting my eyebrows in good shape. All in all, it was a quick in and out and the establishment seemed clean and well taken care of as far as cleanliness goes. The front desk girl was also very nice/pleasant to talk to so that's always a plus to see a smiling face. There are other places in the area such as nail/hair salons that offer eyebrow waxing at a lower price than WAXmd but I'd rather pay a little more for a better quality product as far as the wax itself goes and for a more experienced eyebrow person than to take the risk of having someone mess up on my eyebrows at a cheaper place! It seems like the ppl at WAXmd should be pretty knowledgeable when it comes to what to do and not do with eyebrows. read more

First off Angel is amazing! I'm use to Brazilian waxing to hurt and especially when I had just started my monthly, but there was only two spots that actually hurt! Angel was able to continue talking to me so that my mind was thinking about my lady parts getting waxed I was welcomed by the front staff Holly who handled my new patient information and was friendly! I would have given more stars if it wasn't for the misleading website ad the have for a new client special. There site states that new clients can receive a few service as look as the appointment is book between 9:00-9:30. I'm use to the salons in Arizona taking money upfront for your service. So Because money wasn't taken up front I was very surprised when after my appointment I went to purchase a face scrub and was told my total price. At first it didn't register until after I had swiped my card then I said something. I was told that my appointment had to me between 9-9:30. Once I got home I looked up there website and I didn't see what they meant by why I didn't get my new client special. I so happen went to school with an employee there and messaged them. They also confirmed that it had to be a 9am appointment and they see why the website could be confusing. I'm not one to get upset or have confrontation so I stick with my reviews but I am upset and will not be going back. read more
