the kids that were working were trying to keep the place clean but they had a lot of customers and they couldn't keep up with the volume. over all its was an ok visit but definitely needs to be cleaned especially the bathrooms. read more

This WaWa is right off of I75 in Punta Gorda & is always super busy. A big coffee selection, big creamer selection also. Ordersandwiches & drinks at the kiosk & they freshly make them. A zillion choices of potato chips, they always have a flavor I haven't tried. read more

Stopped by for a petrol fill up, this time. Met a young gentleman named Jon that was maintaining the gas pump area. He was very courteous and respectful to our dogs and went out of his way to serve us that it left us with a great feeling as we left. Thanks again. Keep up the good work. The customer service I've received has always been very OUTSTANDING Highly recommended! Wawa is by far one of the best convenience stores around. The stores offer a large fresh food service selection, including Wawa brands such as built-to-order hoagies, freshly brewed coffee, hot breakfast sandwiches, built-to-order specialty beverages, and an assortment of soups, sides and snacks. As well as, charging stations for Tesla vehicles (not available at all locations), regular fuel services and and surcharge-free ATMs. WHAT'S IN A NAME...The name "Wawa" is a Native American word for the Canada Goose that was found in the Delaware Valley over 100 years ago. The original dairy farm was built on land located in a rural section of Pennsylvania called Wawa. That's why there is a goose used on the Wawa's corporate logo. read more

Coincidence that I started this morning with breakfast at the Waffle House over there and here I am back after driving up to Tampa and back, landing at this Wawa off the highway for a bottle of water and a top off of gas. The store is one of the new clean and fresh convenience stores. Lots of options, brightly lit, coolers of drinks and aisles of snacks of all types. Coffee is ready to go with a variety of creamers and sweeteners. All of this, 24 hours a day. Gas pumps are also well lit and with plenty of space. Because it's conveniently located between Miami and Tampa, we stopped and got gas and decided to explore Wawa inside the store. We've heard how great it is and we wanted to see for ourselves. It's true, they have really good Club Sandwiches (we got the turkey and bacon ones) with coffee. They hit the spot! We also got a coupon for $.15 off a gallon of gas so that worked out great. The place is very clean, bright and arranged well. We will stop here again on one of our road trips. read more

Wawa has grown by leaps and bounds since it first rolled into Florida a bit over a decade ago. This is good news for the residents of the Sunshine State, especially those from the northeast where they might be familiar with the phenomenon known as Wawa. Wawa is a gas station, but it is ultimately a has station experience far beyond the norm that we have come to expect from gas stations. The best part about Wawa is their food counter, which offers a slew of food items, both hot and cold, and all superior to typical gas station fare. The food that they are most known for are their subs, which they call hoagies due to their start in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area, where they call subs by their term of hoagie. It is said that that term came from the Hoagland submarine base. Their employees were so fond of the sandwiches that they became known as hoagies. While I have definitely had better subs (or hoagies), for food at a gas station, Wawa definitely delivers. All in all, I would definitely recommend here. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped at this Wawa gas station in Punta Gorda to get food and gas. My boyfriend got a hot Italian Breakfast Hoagie sandwich, which he thought tasted delicious. Gas prices were average for the area. The staff inside was nice and friendly. The shelves were fully stocked and the store was clean and organized. The bathrooms were ok but looked like they could use some care. Overall though, pretty good experience. read more

Have long been a fan of WAWA. But not this one. I went to WAWA on Sunday 10/27 to buy gas. I attempted to use my Mastercard debit card at the pump. Twice it was declined. I went inside to try again, asking for $25 on the pump I had tried just before. IT was denied. Thinking it was my bank playing games, I contacted them. They told me the first two times, authorizations for $1 each, which comports with other gas stations methods, were declined by the bank. THEN immediately after those attemts, there were two further attempts for $75 each. I assure you and I assured the so-called 'manager' "Joe" that I at no time, attempted purchase of ANYTHING requiring a $75 hold. There WAS a $25 hold due to my attempt to have that amount put on the pump I wished to buy gas from. The bank told me the two $75 holds, AND my requested $25 hold were declined for potential FRAUD. They further advised me that it looked like there was a skimmer on that pump. Wanting to be a good customer, I called "Joe" who informed me the $75 charge attempts were authorizations only, but this Einstein could not tell me for what. I told him that the $1 authorizations made sense, but the $75 did not. He repeated his opinion. I believe, based on this experience, that there are skimmers on the pumps here, and "Joe" doesn't care to even consider the possibility. So I am a FORMER WAWA customer. You should be, as well. read more

Ordered a shortie sub before going to the airport for lunch. Got to the airport and went through security and opened my sandwich on the plane. The bread was so hard that it was inedible, so all I ate were the fillings inside. Advise anyone visiting this location to check the quality of the ordered item before leaving the store. I certainly wish I had. read more

The bar was almost full but people were leaving. Apparently people eat early there. The bartender was swamped but smiled and got me a glass of water. Soon I had menus. I like that they have a regular menu as well as a specials menu, including the usual cocktails and some special cocktails. I ordered the conquest, which seemed like a twist on an old fashioned. They offered bread or focaccia bread, I declined. And heads up- bread service is not included. It's an up charge. Normally I don't care but I was having dessert, not bread. I had the halibut special. It was phenomenal. One of the guys from the kitchen dropped it off and asked if I needed anything'- I replied salt. I find that I need salt often at restaurants. They brought the salt out real fast! I had a bite and determined it didn't need any more salt- it was perfectly salted! Woohoo! Fantastic. I ate my whole dish and then I savored my cocktail. The bartender wasn't much for conversation , as she was very busy, alone, covering the entire bar and drinks for the whole restaurant. She did invite me to try dessert, and mentioned a coconut cream cake that was not on the menu. I agreed to it and it was heavenly. Seemed like cheesecake icing with fluffy layers of cake and subtle coconut flakes throughout. The chocolate ice cream was weird at first but then I realized it's like almond joy/ mounds - coconut and chocolate are often paired. The espresso crumble gave it a nice crunch and there was caramel all over the plate. Wow! I took the majority of the cake home. It was a large portion and indulgent. I paid my tab and finished my drink. I was not rushed. I would go back again. It's a bit pricey. The fish special was $58. The cocktail was $17 and the dessert was $16. So one person, who did not add on the bread service, was $91. It's expensive. I would emphasize you can probably get a seat at the bar if you can't get a reservation. Also- the entrance is hard to find. It's in the parking lot and not facing the main road. I got a little lost walking there. The signage is poor. I can't imagine going there the first time in the dark. So give yourself a couple extra minutes if it's your first time going there.
