Myself as a licensed property manager knows a great bit about the industry. Nonetheless, after a ton of back and fourth, we agreed to allow them to start showing our home under the stipulations that we would be present because of course, all our belongings were there. Erik Taylor, the realtor that the owner of the house chose started off bad from the start when he asked if we could make sure we were fully unpacked for the showings to make sure the house was "show" ready. Even though annoyed, we made sure the home was in pristine shape every time. Those of you with more than 1 child know how hard this can be. However, between the photographers and many other potential buyers that were in and out of our home within the 2 months of showing commented on how well it was put together, the smell of the home was great and it was decorated well. Along with the annoyance of showings, we both contracted COVID as well. We get that, it happens but still just yet another burden we overcame during this time frame. We were devastated and then to also be talked down to by him multiple times was unreal. Between the owner threating to evict us (which again, because I knew the laws of SC) did not work. We all decided to come to an agreement for the owner to pay us a set amount of money to vacate prior to our lease end date and we would vacate once we found a place. The owner would not agree to pay it all up front incase there were any damages. (Again, we had only been living there 4 months, but I get it, I have seen homes get destroyed in that time in my line of work) Of course, since Erik had been in the home and was the liaison between both parties, I would have assumed for him to state his truth of our home. He did not! Instead we had to go through yet another house visit to move furniture and items around just to get the 1st portion of money from the owner. We finally found a new place to call home for our blended family and were finally ready to put this stressful situation behind us. On the day of the walk through, that all parties were supposed to be there for, only Erik showed up, not the owner of the home. Again as the realtor representing the property and being the liaison since the owner was not there, you would assume he would have told the owner the great condition the home was left in. Freshly mopped, windows and doors cleaned, even the garage was vacuumed (who does that - ME). After the 48 hours from the final walk through a text was sent in our group message, including Erik, to communicate with the owner asking where the remaining portion of the money was as the home was left realistically better than we received it when we moved in just months prior. The response was outrageous. Erik let us know that he would not get in the middle and it was between us and the owner at that point. Why of course! He just wanted us out to be able to sell the house. All of this to say, he will speak down to women and persuade sneaky shit just to get what he wants. Do NOT give this guy any future business.

The current property manager, Charlene, has been consistently dismissive and lacks the professionalism, empathy, and problem-solving skills I'd expect from someone in that role. Rather than addressing resident concerns, interactions often feel unnecessarily frustrating and unproductive. One issue that has made me especially uncomfortable is that Charlene repeatedly gets very close to my one-year-old son without asking for my permission. As his parent, I expect my boundaries regarding my child to be respected. It is never appropriate to invade a child's personal space without the parent's consent, and the fact that this has happened more than once has made every interaction with her uncomfortable. We're at the point where we're simply counting down the days until our lease is over. I would not recommend Paxton Point Hope to anyone while it's under its current management.

We had TERRIBLE ant problems, they came from under the walls and through electric sockets! When we asked our neighbors they said the same, one woman was in a wheelchair and woke up covered in ants and ant bites and ended up throwing away her bed cover and mattress topper. They came and sprayed like 2 times but the only time they got any better was when I took matters into my own hands. I went back to my parents house for a week and came home to spider webs over my shower and roaches everywhere (but No food was in the house as we were preparing to move out). We chose this place specifically for their amenities (pool, valet trash, etc) and the fact it was nonsmoking. I would constantly see people on their balconies and even outside the pool smoking and all the office did was "warn" them. The valet trash didn't come some nights and you can be fined for leaving your trash can outside your door at the wrong times. Overall I would probably go back because of the staff (maybe) but I wouldn't recommend if you won't be there a lot or hate bugs!

Due to the…read morecurrent corona virus pandemic my partner and I needed a little extra time to figure out if we should extend our lease and stay put or move out. Requesting a little extra time, we ended up deciding we'd move out- since we both still had our jobs and the entire world wasn't shut down. We gave them a 40 day notice and since it wasn't 60 days "the required days"-they forced us to pay a pro-rated rent amount to stay for a month for 1800! While I'd understand this in any other circumstance but come on look what's happening in the world right now. Might I add we've never payed late or missed a payment our entire time living here nor asked for an extension during this pandemic. So not only am I sure they have a flood of people not being able to pay rent- but they also aren't going to have a ton of people trying to move in SO THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO CUT CORNERS WHILE THEY CAN AND BE WILDING NOT UNDERSTANDING! 40 DAYS NOTICE INSTEAD OF 60 DAYS=500$ and being forced to stay here DURING A PANDEMIC where it's impossible to not be in contact with other people! I'm sorry but every single property owner I've spoken to thinks this is outrageous due to these uncertain times and the fact we've been perfect tenants! On top of that, they spent months doing work on the buildings refinishing the hallways when they said it was going to be a week. Not to mention it's not a good place for dog owners what so ever. Small dog park, no grass, short walking area, and no one cares to pick up after their dogs. They unnecessarily force you to pay 30$ a month for valet trash service (which you can also be fined for if you don't do perfectly btw) which we never used because we're normal people and can take out our own trash. We can hear every step and groan the people make above us. And there is a bad bug issue - especially when the trash compactor broke for a week and THOUSANDS OF FLYS-LITERALLY FILLED THE APARTMENT BECAUSE THE WINDOWS AREN'T SEALED WELL! The amount of inconvenience we have experienced and dealt with is NOTHING compared to the inconvenience they experienced when giving a notice just short of 60 days- and what to show for it? Nothing. Will not recommend this apartment complex to anyone.
