I hired John to inspect a home I was buying, and while my realtor warned me that he was expensive, I have 0 regrets about paying a couple hundred dollars extra for the quality of work that was done. John easily saved me four times as much as I paid for his services. John was incredibly thorough, informative, and professional. He took the time to explain everything that he was looking at to me, in addition to going over why it was an issue and how to remediate it (without being an alarmist about any of it). Very matter-of-fact and respectful in the way that he spoke, which I personally appreciated as the seller's realtor became increasingly upset as John found issues they hadn't disclosed. In the five hours it took for the inspection, I learned more about home ownership than I have in my entire life. He brought a drone to inspect the roof, infrafred sensors to detect discrepancies in wall temperatures, a (mostly) tamper-proof radon monitor, and a camera to take pictures to accompany his report. He got back to us within 48 hours with a 50+ page report with pictures outlining everything that he looked at, which gave me a tremendous amount of leverage for negotiating prior to closing and also a list of every conceivable repair that I'd need to address after closing. Called Thursday they were able to do it Friday. they showed up 15 minutes early. John and Jim split up the inspection. John doing the structural and Jim looking at the plumbing and electrical. The contract they gave me went beyond the requirements.They went on mass.gov to check to see if a lead inspection was ever done on the house and when there was nothing on the one i was looking at, they search the surrounding homes. Then supplied me with FEMA's nation flood hazard layer and another sheet showing chemical spills in the town. they were there for 2hrs and 15min looked at every inch of the house. Talked me through the terminology they have to use and not to get to worried about the phasing. Teaching me as they went along. Jim is also an instructor at Assebet Valley technical school. Ended up not going for the house the roof was going to be too much work. Along with a lot of small things. they are on the more expensive end but you get what you pay for and for an investment as big as a house don't skimp on the inspection. Last side note incredibly nice and great sense of humor Jim was cracking jokes the whole time, will use again. read more

John arrived on site early, my wife and I got to the house about 5 minutes before he was supposed to be there and he was already hard at work. He wave at us from the roof and came down to meet us when he was done. He and his partner Nick were very meticulous. During the inspection, I followed John around and he made sure to explain to me everything that he was doing/seeing and even gave me some pointer as to how to maintain certain things and where to look when I had certain types of issues. This was something that I really appreciated as I am a first time home owner. He also took photos of everything and made sure to walk me through what each photo was showing. On top of it all, he was quick, something that impressed our real state agent. I have had the opportunity to work with the folks at Wave Inspection on several occasions. On every instance I have always been impressed on this company professionalism, on how knowledgeable and thorough the crew is. In addition to their attention to detail and taking the time during the walk through of the property to explain what they are doing, potential problems that they see etc. The inspection report that they provide is also very detail accompanied with pictures. I showed up for our scheduled appointment time and John was already on site inspecting the exterior of the complex. Inspection was very thorough with a detailed report and pictures of the breakdown to follow. At the end time was taken to explain all of his findings and an honest assessment of each point was given.
