I've taken all five of my children here for the last 25+ years, I have spent thousands and…read morethousands of dollars between dental care and braces for each child (even two sets, for two of my children) only to have their team give my youngest child fluoride against my will on my last visit. When I asked what it was what they gave to my child the hygienist acted like it wasn't a big deal, then the doctor treated me horribly, acting like I was some crazed lunatic for asking for my child not to receive it, instead of acknowledging what they had done. They did offer to not have to pay for the fluoride, as if that was the issue. I do not recommend and would NEVER go back due to the lack of accountability and terrible treatment by the doctor.

Dr. Skanchy was the first stop on my list of possibilities and after meeting with him, as well as his amazing staff, I wasn't impressed with any other practice! The receptionists are always friendly, helpful and organized. I've dealt with the finance department a few times now. The first when we crunched the original numbers for treatment (before I committed to them). Next- when we signed the contract and agreement and paid, then once again when we had an insurance change about a year into the treatment. It has truly been a pleasure dealing with all of the amazing ladies who work for the Doctor, even the billing department! I say women simply because I've yet to see male employees around the office. The office is always super clean, has ample seating in the lobby, a beautiful aquarium, video games for the kiddos or whomever, and the usual, tv and magazines, etc. Unlike many orthodontist and even dentist offices I have seen, this one is definitely a lot more private! Usually, you will see rows and rows of chairs lined up, so all the patients are in one big room. At Dr. Skanchy's practice, they have separate and individual sections, kind of like rooms where the work is done. I always prefer this type of set up, as I feel it's more personal, less distracting and simply more professional. When we've had emergency situations come up, such as a wire coming off a bracket, etc. they're always quick to get us in, often the same day. They are pretty accommodating to schedules, my only gripe, is the doctor isn't in the office on Friday. However, you can still get some things taken care of, so it's usually not an issue. They aren't overpriced like some of the other practices I met with, yet, they offer better service. Dr. Skanchy is super friendly too, I always enjoy chatting with him, he's very thorough, as well. The office also offers a discount, 10%, if you're paying the total amount up front (cash), so you can save quite a bit of money with this option. We've been coming here for over a year and I'm still always impressed with their genuinity, friendliness, professionalism, and convenience. i absolutely love this orthodontist. i came from a not so good dentist and they were telling me i…read morecouldn't get braces i needed veneers, they messed up my teeth and dr johnson fixed them and informed me that the dentist was doing unnecessary work on my teeth. i made an appointment with this orthodontist and got braces the same day. they're so amazing and work with your schedule so well. i love the atmosphere and love that he is always there working with each patient. on the plus plus side, they have AMAZING cookies afterward to take. i had to call them just to ask where they get them from because of how good they are. and they have icecream that's so delicious as well. for kids they also have little games as well. i'd definitely recommend this orthodontist if anybody asked!!

The staff was very friendly and professional, both on the phone and in person. The only real drawback is that they only really stabilize conditions and prescribe medication, and then refer you to other dentists for further treatment during regular hours.
