He removed the old kitchen tap, which was what I was having trouble with, and gave me some tips on how to install the new tap once I found one that fit. He then installed the bathroom tap and provided some other advice relating to the bathroom sink. He did not charge me for the kitchen tap installation. I found a kitchen tap that fit, and it is now installed and working great thanks to John. I will call him if I need any plumbing in the future. I recently had multiple negative interactions with Mr. Rooter. To their credit they were one of…read morethe few plumbing companies to answer the phone over a long weekend regarding a broken water softener. However on arrival several hours late, and despite stating the problem (water softener leaking beads which is not fixable) they did not replace and insisted on a second visit. A second visit was over 8 hours later than stated (called dispatcher multiple times), and they did replace - a very pricy model without offering options. Less than one week later my basement had water flooding with water pooling under the brine tank. Again I called, again they arrived several hours late (after multiple calls). After telling them that all water had left my brine tank (thus the problem) they said they couldn't identify the problem. Another week later I again had another water leak on my basement floor with water under the brine tank. This time when I called the person answering the phone was rude, consistently cutting me off, refusing to accept the problem, only offering someone again to come out and look. Frankly I cannot remember the last person in retail that was this rude and belligerent. Regardless they refused to provide someone in management to talk to. All they would do is someone to "come and look" and frankly stated any repairs are another visit. If this situation is not addressed adequately this likely is headed for a chargeback from the credit card company and a better business bureau consumer complaint. Overall completely absent customer service, especially from their dispatchers, and little regard for effects of defective products, and no ownership of their mistakes.

My wife and I have been using Frey's for several years. We first hired them because of a leak with our hot water tank. Since then they've installed our water softener and we used them to renovate our ensuite and guest bathrooms, both of which turned out beautifully. Our guests love our bathrooms! From a service side, and I'm big on personal service, they always make us feel comfortable, answer all our questions, and are prompt and professional. Prices are very reasonable too. Never had a negative experience them, but if you're looking to get a quote on a bathroom renovation you'll probably have to wait a week or two - they're well worth it. To be fair, I think that timeframe is pretty much what you'd expect from any contractor these days.

(He was subsequently fired by the restoration company by the way) We were required to pay for a plumber up front to tidy up the old existing plumbing prior to the renovation. We paid approx. $500 out of pocket for this work. As the project progressed, more plumbing work was needed. During the course of the project, Tiger sent no fewer than five plumbers to do the work as it "progressed". Much of the initial work had to be removed and re-done so $$ wasted there. Each new plumber that arrived had no clue about what the previous person had done. The hot and cold water feeds were reversed TWICE and they would not have noticed if we didn't point out that a toilet elsewhere in the house was HOT. The job included installing a tub with a tub surround and shower and the accompanying plumbing once they had it figured out. The tub surround had to be removed and re-installed. There were large blobs of silicon left randomly with no attempt to clean them up. The countertop on the vanity was "installed", clearly askew, with the usual careless use of silicon sealant. The water supply to the toilet resulted in drywall damage that they tried to disguise with a flange. Basically, we had to have different workmen come in to rectify their poor workmanship. I could go on and on. There is more but I'm sure the reader gets the picture about what to expect from this firm. DO NOT use this company under any circumstances unless you want prolonged, uncoordinated, and poorly performed work that may need to be re-done
