I needed a space to work over the Christmas/New Year break and was surprised to see that a…read moreco-working space existed around downtown Gastonia. The parking was fine but maybe needed some clarity as there was a restaurant and post office adjacent to the lot. It's a gravel lot basically with no clear signage. Not a big issue but FYI. There's a handful of places to visit within walking distance for eating and shopping. Very small town feel. Inside the office, the receptionist welcomed me and was new but friendly and professional. She helped me get set up on the app (still a work in progress) and gave me a quick tour. The big main spaces were already reserved but the phone booth space was adequate to my needs. The internet speed was decent but there was no ethernet cable for direct connection. The common kitchen area was clean and beverages were available as well as small snacks. Terry, the director for the space, was very helpful in troubleshooting issues with billing and reservations. Pricing was also reasonable for a one-day pass. Military veteran pricing is available. If I came to the city more often, I'd get a subscription because it's very close and isn't overcrowded like some co-working spaces.

I LOVE working at coffee shops and having humans to talk to (as opposed to just my pups) but I hate the hustle and bustle of coffee shops and larger coworking spaces... The Mill Coworking is right up my alley; it's GORGEOUS, quiet but not TOO quiet, the other members are just as pumped as I am to be running their businesses andddd there's a great balance between socializing and working! Lawd, that was quite the run on sentence * Other killer selling points: LOCATION - right in the heart of SouthEnd walking distance of Publix, they have a pour over coffee pot, so much natural light, beautiful windows, tons of plants, AND did I mention coffee?! Take a peek at their page to see more, dm them if you have any questions. But seriously, do it now! They only accept a certain number of members per month to keep it a productive and tight-knit community!

Overall, it's been a great home for our small but growing company. The private office we have (about 250 sq ft) has been the perfect size for our team, and the setup here makes it easy to get real work done, whether that's in our office, using the sound booths for calls, or grabbing a change of scenery around the space. Coming from WeWork in Uptown, we were looking for more space and a location that felt connected to the energy at Camp North End. That's been a huge win. Hosting clients here has been fun: there's free three-hour parking, good first-visit instructions once you've done it, and plenty of food and activity options nearby. We've had nice, sit-down lunches at Room Service, played simulator golf and pickleball with prospects at Tipsy Pickle, and grabbed coffee with partners at Hex. People enjoy coming out here, which makes it fun to host. Jordan and the Kinship team have been fantastic about ironing out the early logistics that come with being the first tenants. They have been responsive and helpful every step of the way. What I'm most excited about is the growing little community of entrepreneurs and small business owners who are starting to make Workstation their base. There are still a few offices open, and I'd love to see this continue to grow into a hub for founders and startups. For us, it's been the right mix of professional, flexible, and inspiring, and we're glad we made the move.

I can't express how much I enjoyed working out of this location. First, the staff was amazing. The receptionist was always incredibly friendly and helpful, and could answer any questions I had about the office. Kim, the owner, made sure that I had all of the accommodations I needed, and make sure that all of my needs were taken care of quickly. As for the office itself, it was well-furnished, and was a welcoming environment. Even with it being temporary, I felt right at home. It was very quiet, so I could get all of my work done without any distractions. There was a great conference room in the event I needed to hold a larger meeting. Having a kitchen in the office helped out immensely, because I didn't have to worry about eating out every day. That being said, being right above Birkdale Village was great if I wanted to step out for lunch, or if I needed to set up a lunch meeting with a client or coworkers. . If you are looking for a place, even if it's just temporary like my situation was, Birkdale Office is your best bet. I have worked out of other temporary office rental locations in the past, but they never felt as welcoming or comfortable as Birkdale Office did. 5 stars, well-earned.

I had written a review, a five star one, which I have since deleted because you don't get a free drop or $3 off unless you mention your baristas name. They don't wear name tags so you literally have to ask the person behind the bar who is making your drink and that's just weird. Great way to promote reviews but maybe get name tags? Also, the girl who was helping me seems to not know how customer service works and looks like she's never smiled in her life. Not the greatest interaction and may have to find another coffee shop in the future because the coffee really isn't that worth it for all that.
