If I could give 10 stars, I would. I just moved my dad from NY to Florida and have had the most…read moreamazingly positive experience with the team at Park Summit. Abby, our sales counselor, has been the most friendly, efficient, and accommodating professional from the first call all the way through to moving my dad into the facility. Throughout the entire process, she and her team have bent over backwards to make this a good experience for my dad. From our initial discussions regarding budget, timing, and room size, Abby has worked to meet all my dad's needs. We had LOTS of questions, and she patiently and thoroughly answered all of them, making sure we were comfortable with everything and that this was the right place for my dad. At move in this week, the maintenance folks were right on top of everything, making sure the room was clean, and everything was in good working order. They came in right away and hooked up my dad's TV's and computer (which was my dad's priority). They also hung drapes, shelves and pictures, so it would feel like home for my dad. I can't say enough about the level of professionalism and friendliness of each and every staff member we've encountered at Park Summit. They really care about the health, wellness and comfort of their residents, and that's evident in their interactions with the residents and their actions when something needs to be handled or addressed. I look forward to a great experience for my dad at Park Summit, and I can rest easily knowing he's in good hands.

Abby Blacker provided great help in making the process easy. He was welcomed and settled in quickly, While he complained daily to me about the food and maintenance at the other place, he spoke glowingly of everything at Park Summit. We were so grateful that his last years were spend in a warm, wonderful place with great staff. Thanks to all.

NO STARS! I took my mother out of this place 3 years ago (20013) and moved her back to NY. At that…read moretime the place was under another crappy management which might have even been a bit better than the present management: not saying much. After a fall and a stint in rehab she returned on hospice with pneumonia. She had a lovely apartment-I had picked the best I could find, BUT there were RATS living in the vent, the hospice nurses were appalled-the tails were hanging out of the grate!! The rats were into anything they could get into. My mother had a 24-hour aide who awakened one morning to a rat bite!! There were issues with rats in other parts of the building including the KITCHEN. I had an ongoing case with the health inspectors who told me they were shutting the kitchen down. Mom survived, is now 98, (all there) getting better benefits in NYC than Florida provides. (IMHO Florida is a hell-hole for the elderly!!) The Emeritus was probably a very nice place years ago when it was maintained and people were committed to their jobs. It looks nice on the outside. But, God help the elderly, the poor, the vulnerable. God help this society.

I would rate this place with numerous negative stars if I could! My Aunt has been living at this…read moreplace for almost 5 years and she has had numerous things stolen from her apartment including food, alcohol, clothing, jewelry, TP, a check book, and most recently her electric scooter while she was in the hospital! The facility said it would NOT pay for a replacement scooter and that it was NOT their responsibility. REALLY? She is incapacitated in the hospital and they DO NOT lock up and secure her personal belongings? She cannot get around without her scooter and was literally captive in her apartment without transportation to go to meals and get out to socialize. DO NOT put your loved one in this place unless you are prepared to install a surveillance camera to check who goes in to help themselves to what ever they feel like taking!

Choosing a new home in assisted living for a loved one is a hard, challenging thing to do. There is…read moreso much to think about. So many changes coming at you, questioning if its the right decision, is the place safe, clean and a good fit, and can the person needing care fit in as you both face this bumpy transition. But, Junette, Mike and Sharma here at The Preserve all worked hard to help both me and my partner through the whole process and continue to do so after the initial transition. As a person who has worked in the fields of health and human services most of my career, I've seen my fair share of "facilities" which I wouldn't trust to take care of my cat, much less a parent or spouse. The Preserve at Palm Aire is the closest thing to a cruise ship resort designed with the health and well being of all its residents in mind. The staff have been uniformly helpful and caring on all levels; they provide in-house medical, nursing, PT/OT staffing; a pleasant colorful design and layout; pool and spa, lots of activities and resident volunteers who connect with new people to help integrate them into the community. There are social work supports, clean and well kept rooms, common areas and grounds. They provide levels of care based on the loved ones needs with an objective full assessment that focuses of supporting the resident's most possible support without taking away independence. They have great independent living quarters which frees you from mundane tasks such as housecleaning, meal prep and even dog walking, so you can focus on getting the most out of your body, mind and soul. The assisted living sections have aides checking in on residents every 4 hours and all of those residents are given "alert pendants" to wear 24/7 so that help is only a button push away. And if memory care is a concern for you or your loved one now or in the future, they provide both a Bridges program to maximize freedom while supporting memory and a more secure space for those who are at risk of wondering or in more advanced stages. My partner is adjusting well and has even made some fast friends due to their efforts to help him integrate. Families can visit anytime and either share a meal there with them or take your loved one out for a "night on the town". They are so small pet friendly that I and my service/therapy dog come multiple times a week and provide some pet therapy to staff and residents alike while visiting my loved one. Prices are comparable to other facilities, but they don't "nickel and dime you to death" and are upfront with monthly costs based on level of care and size of room. But, I see the value they provide for what is charged and cannot say that about many places. They also don't have outrageous "buy-in" fees. There is a small community entry charge which is FAR less then most places. The food is good and lots of it, though they could use a wider daily selection and will hopefully reopen their all-day self-serve community cafes with snacks soon.

Nurses aren't kind and caring. Since they deal directly with loved ones you would hope they have a…read morebit of compassion. I was hoping the preserve had a higher quality of care. Hopefully they'll they find a job that is more suitable for them.
