I have learned: 1) what habits are, and how our habits influence us; 2) how hypnosis, done by yourself or guided with Colin, can help you to learn how to handle stress and use the power of positive thinking to help change your behavior. You control it the entire time; 3) how powerful change can be through a strong therapeutic relationship. Thanks to Colin I have learned to trust again; and 4) most importantly, how you, as an individual, have the power within you to make change (even if you don't know it yet, don't know where to start, or are terrified to try.) She takes a very direct and rationale approach to therapy, and told me up front that she wanted to get me over this phobia as quickly as possible so that she could stop seeing me, and start helping another patient. I can respect that. And I appreciate the willingness to actually work hard and not pansy around. You think I like being afraid to fly? Hell no. Her approach is all about acceptance and coping. As in- accept that I don't like to fly, and figure out how to make the best of it without causing an international incident. Six months later, I flew to Cancun for a vacation. And two months after that I flew to Orlando for work. So she lived up to her promise- she is fast and efficient.
